Lightroom :: Cover Layout That Spans Your Entire Back / Front Cover With Blurb?
Aug 23, 2012
I am building my second book with Blurb, this time with LR4
it's going to be a small square and for the back and cover, I have built a file with photoshop and when I drop it to first page, no way I can "slide" it to cover the entire back+ cover
I'm bringing out a bodyboarding dvd, but need a little help with the design of the cover. Its titled "Scratching the surface". I was trying to find a tutorial that would demonstate how to get a decent scratch effect or even some claw marks but couldn't find anything.
If you've got any ideas I'd love to hear from them or if you know of any tutorials that would help it would be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to create the artwork for stickers to cover the front and side of a freezer. I have created the front panel which consists of a block of colour along the top and bottom (with logo in top panel) and then an illlustration in the middle. Now, I want the blocks of colour and illustration to carry on seamlessly to either side to cover the 2 side panels (which are the same height but different width from the central one). Should I create in 3 separate documents and how do I make sure that I follow the illustration at exactly the point where it finishes at either side of the central panel? I haven't been using InDesign very long and I cant work it out.
is it possble to arrange artboards in Illustrator CS6 so page 1 is on its own and pages 2 and 3 (and 4 and 5 etc) are facing each other as they would be in a printed book. In other words the same way as in InDesign?
I have Photoshop Elements 9. I want to put a bar code jpeg image on the back cover of a book which I am creating and save it as jpeg and send to printer.
I used to use MediaStudio Pro to create picture in picture especially where the picture starts small and grows to cover the entire background video clip.
I looked for and found a video filter which I thought would allow me to do the same. However after viewing the 'help' for the filter and trying just about everything I could think of I cannot achieve what I want to do if start with a video clip and then have another video clip appear (very small) in one area of the background video and then slowly grow larger to eventually cover the background video clip.
I can make the picture in picture appear and grow larger but it covers the entire background video clip with black effectively covering it no matter what size my picture in picture is. I looked for a chroma key to cover the black out but could not find it.
I've created a collage to place on the front cover of my book. It is a JPG file about 6700 pixels wide and 768 px high. When I drop it onto the front cover, it shows only a small fraction of the photo and there is no way to "shrink" the photo.
How can I display the entire 6700 x 768 px photo on the cover of my book?
I'm currently editing a photo book in the new Book Module in Lightroom 4. I have added some background graphic to the cover of my book and it looks fine in thumbnails. In the preview however the graphic is horizontally mirrored and overlaps with the title. This is the first book I make with Lightroom and I would like to know which rendering I should trust before ordering the book.
I created a panorama in PTGUI and imported it into LR5 as a tiff file. There is a small area in the upper right corner that is white as the image did not fit the rectangle exactly. I wanted to use the clone/heal tool to replicate a portion of sky to cover that area, but no matter what I do it will not put anything in that area - it just stays white. I was able to do this in version 4.x. What is going on?
How to simply edit the text in the spine of hard cover, 40 page book in the book module? I can click into any other text window and edit and change attributes but I am locked out of editing text when it comes to the spine of the book.
I've used Lightroom 3, 4 and now 5 so I know my way around the software pretty well. Never had an issue like this in previous LR versions. Basically, when I Spot Edit a spot (such as a speck of dust that was on the sensor or lens) there is alway s a "ghost" of the speck that remains, no matter what I do. The Opacity is set to 100, yet the tool behaves as if it is set to 90. It happens with Clone and Heal. I have also tried adjusting the Feather setting, to no avail.
How can I get multiple images on 1 page to line up when printing on both sides? Dimensions are 3.5x2.5, 9 to a page. They are sportscards for son's baseball team. They are slightly off by 2-3 cm on all 4 sides and in betweeen. Extremely frustrating. I tried printing in Photoshops but text is blurry. In Lightroom, Images look absolutely perfect. If they would only line up. Using a Canon MG 6200 if that matters.
Obviously a logo doesn't look exactly the same each time it's used. So where does the line get drawn? At what point is the logo so distorted that it's no longer protected by a trademark?
And another thing I was wondering about is if you trademark an image and make different / more elaborate versions of the original, will it also be covered by the TM? For example if you trademark the logo on the right, will the other 2 versions also be protected?
I am about to start a dvd sleeve cover but I do not know where to start! Is there a tutorial on this or just a template with construction lines and that sort of thing to help me?
im designing a DVD cover and i need some good quality movie ratings, such as PG, U etc and i also need the Dolby sound and possibly the white box that contains all the movie information eg Running time, Format, widescreen
Grade 7 or Grade 8 ...I was thinking about having the students make CD covers. Could someone give advice or recommendations? They know the lasso tool, opacity, text tool.
have a Xara template for a VHS video cover? My autistic son won't play DVDs, so I have to maintain his VHS collection, and some of the covers need redoing.
I have several Dvd Covers that I would like to print, however I have had issues getting the correct size. I use Paint.NET Regularly .
I am currently running windows 7 and every time I print a dvd cover the are just smaller than the regular dvd cover size(Before on XP I was able to print them no problem).
No matter what program I use I end up having to print using Microsoft photo printing wizard. I have tried many different configurations and I get two issues.
1. When I have the settings on default I print the cover and It fully prints, but the height is just too small for my dvd case, and it isnt quite wide enough as well.
2. When I choose 8.5x11 Borderless (Assuming It would print correctly, but after it prints for a while It has been enlarged to the point where it runs off the page, and it is WAY too large, even for a dvd case.
I used to be able to print them correctly using paint, but I have no clue how I was able to.
I am using standard letter paper 8.5x11 in., the same size I correctly printed them out on before.
Can I use Paint.NET to fix this issue, or should I use a different program,
As what I have said on my very first post, I am not great in using Photoshop.. I made a Timeline Cover for my fan page on Facebook. But it didn't turn out well as you can see below[URL]...
FONTS I only used: Anja Elaine Accent Jenny Sue
I need : 1. Adding grass below the characters' feet. (if possible, cute like the clouds) 2. Changing/redesigning the effect/design of the title (FWFG) because I think it lacks design 3. Add more designs?
and I'm just trying to tweak so it looks 100% legit. Specifically what font to use, text color and text placement. I know some of the white text is hard to read...what color could I change it to without messing up my color scheme?
You see the circle? I've seen it done before. Where you can make your design look worn out especially with the worn out vinyl circle. I remember getting a catalog from VEER once and some designer had done two sleeves like that.
