InDesign :: How To Create Artwork For Stickers To Cover Front And Side Of A Freezer
Feb 13, 2014
I am trying to create the artwork for stickers to cover the front and side of a freezer. I have created the front panel which consists of a block of colour along the top and bottom (with logo in top panel) and then an illlustration in the middle. Now, I want the blocks of colour and illustration to carry on seamlessly to either side to cover the 2 side panels (which are the same height but different width from the central one). Should I create in 3 separate documents and how do I make sure that I follow the illustration at exactly the point where it finishes at either side of the central panel? I haven't been using InDesign very long and I cant work it out.
I am building my second book with Blurb, this time with LR4
it's going to be a small square and for the back and cover, I have built a file with photoshop and when I drop it to first page, no way I can "slide" it to cover the entire back+ cover
I'm bringing out a bodyboarding dvd, but need a little help with the design of the cover. Its titled "Scratching the surface". I was trying to find a tutorial that would demonstate how to get a decent scratch effect or even some claw marks but couldn't find anything.
If you've got any ideas I'd love to hear from them or if you know of any tutorials that would help it would be greatly appreciated.
I downloaded Paint.net to resize pics, images, or logos and to create window stickers. However, I am completely new to it all! After playing with it and using it for a few days, I've done a few things with gradients paintbrush and text.
1)When I am placing graphics AND text on a new creation, for some reason I can only add the text FIRST and not AFTER I add any graphics. (So, if I mess up after getting my graphics on there and realize I need my text moved, I gotta start ALL over!
2) Is there any instruction book on the program out there anywhere??? anywhere??? maybe a Paint.net book for Dummies???
3) How do I resize photo's?? How do I work with layers?
4) WHERE is the align tool? (or align object tool.....whatever it's called) I need a simple way to CENTER text and pics.....
The program has been useful to me from what I have learned by hitting the wrong buttons by mistake (lol) but I'm sure there are MUCH better ways to do things than what I've been doing......
I have a template for a marquee. There are 4 sides to it, so I wondered if there is a way to duplicate the artwork from the first side onto all other sides...without doing them individually 4 times?
So if I select the roof, for example, and insert artwork - can the other 3 roofs be 'linked' in some way, so they become duplicates automatically?
I've tried recording an action for copying, rotating, moving and pasting but it keeps coming up with an error about the Move function not being available.
i have been drawing a 3d model and when it comes to dimensioning, i can only do it for the vertical and horizontal distance from the top view. i cant find a way to dimension the thickness of my model from the side or ront view.
I am new to In Design having come from years with QuarkXpress. I need to put an 8 page owners manual together. The front & back pages have to be set up properly for the printer. How is this don in ID?
I have two picture files and I just want to create one file, displaying both pictures side by side. I have been reveiwing all of the functions in my Adobe Photoshop Elements Version 11 and I can't figure out how to do it.
Im currently trying to draw a layout for a simple angle iron part using the front, side, and angled view. Its a flat part made of sheetmetal and it will get 1 90* bend in it.
My first question is how do i bend a part in autocad LT 2011? Ive been using autocad for years but ive never had a request for an angled view.
My second question is how would i create a layout using all 3 views and include the info block in the bottom right displaying all the info?
I need to create artwork with Arabic text in it working on a Mac OS x CC. We need to copy from a word document into Illustrator so that it is editable. I can't find how to do this, and I need to get the ME version. Is this true?
I have designed some packaging artwork using Illustrator which looks fine although I would like to see the artwork as it would look when made up. The artwork will be used for pouches, bags and boxes. Is there a way of creating a generic 3D pouch, bag and box that I can wrap the existing artwork around?
I know that Facebook reduces the resolution for Facebook cover page and profile picture. However, I have noticed that there are many Pages that uploaded beautiful Cover photo without any reduced resolution (apparently).
For example: URL....can also check out these pages, they have pretty awesome looking Timeline photos!
I've tried using the "magic" size format of 850 x 350 , but it seems that the quality will still be reduced no matter what. The above pages' photos are always pretty clear and not blur like normal pages.
How to create artwork that uses the styles of traditional art forms such as oil, watercolor, acrylic painting? Or even Crayon, pastel, charcoal, sketch drawings? As in recreating the how the brush strokes in sketching or oil painting or like crayons the texture. Mostly the recreating the overall styles of those traditional mediums?
I am creating a 'How to' diagram using illustrations from a previous artist. As such I need to recreate his way of creating image gradients. He seems to do it by using only a small amount of gradient steps creating quite block like gradients. Like this: How would I go about getting my smooth gradients like this? At the moment I am creating a smooth gradient filled object, expanding it then specifying the steps in the dialogue box that then appears. But this does not really recreate the same gradient (please see as follows):So my question is how this artist has done this? As the gradients also seem to follow the contours of the object.
I have a sticker in PSCS6. I need to print 600 but each needs to have a number from 1000-1599. How can I do this without having to make 600 separate files?
Is there any way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set the Crop tool to the front window size in Photoshop CS6? I find that I use that several times a day. I got used to it being the top choice in the Crop tool presets menu.
I am using the template from labelbythesheet.com to make stickers. When I print a sample on a plain sheet of paper everything comes out perfectly centered. When I make the circle ring invisible and print on the actual sticker paper the entire sheet is off and the stickers are unusable. I am using the correct template for the stickers purchased as I got it from their own website.
I need to produce a PNG image that will be used as a menu bar that has a shadow effect on the top side only. The image will ultimately be just 1 pixel wide and then be repeated as required to create the right width (length) on the web page. How can I slice the image without getting a shadow effect on any of the other 3 sides?
Obviously the edges of the image must be sharp so there is no banding effect when the image is extended.
I want to create a pyramid with a base of three sides with different lenght. In the end i want to have a solid where i can drag and move the notes to change the hight, lenght and the angle of the sides.
I already managed to draw it in 3d but now i want to convert the drawing into a solid and keep it flexible to change the parameters by draging the notes.
I also tried to extrude a triangle with a specific angle but then i was only able to move the top note up and down changes the hight. Doing it this way the top note also kept beeping in the center-point of the triangle.
Here's something that should be simple, I want to create a template for cutting a square hole 125 mm on a side.
I have gone into Drawing Utilities and set the units to millimeters. I drew a square 125 units on a side.
In paper space, I selected a template that is 11" X 17". I set the scale to 1:1. I thought that that would give me a sheet I could print out ledger size with a 125mm square drawn on it, but no, it is not even close. As near as I can figure, the square is 125" on a side in paper space.
