Feb 1, 2014I have PSE 10. My OS is Windows 7. My printer is a Canon MG6120. The default print tray selected for the computer and all programs is the Cassette. It was selected under Devices and Printers (path: Control PanelHardware and SoundDevices and Printers). All my programs accept the cassette as the default paper source or Tray, except for PSE 10.
In all other programs, I manually change the Paper Source for rear tray selection through the Printer Properties dialogue window. However, the paper source for my PSE 10, after manually changing from Tray: Rear Tray to Tray: Cassette, resets back to Tray: Rear Tray after printing and even after using the Change Settings and Advanced Settings dialogue windows. see the image insert.
I generally print on bond paper. The rear tray is normally closed. If I'm want to print on photo paper, I open the rear tray and insert the photo paper. I verify that I have the printer set to use the rear tray. After printing on photo paper (from any program) I reset the paper source back to cassette.
My questions are, "How do I correct or override PSE 10's automatic resetting of the paper source to the Rear Tray. How do I convince PSE 10 to accept the front-loading cassette as the default paper source?"
PSE10 also insists on reverting to Landscpe orientation. Please see the image insert.

Sep 27, 2011I'm building a site with WordPress and installed a plugin that will create a slider of images on the front page. For each image, there is specific text that goes with the image (just a simple quote). If it's possible to use Gimp to add text to the side of an image and not actually on the image?
Here's a link to the front page of the site that I'm attempting to add the text to. Currently, the photos are there and you will see the blank space next to the images. This blank space is where I would like to add the text. I've contacted the creator of the plugin and there is no way of doing this from within the plugin, itself.

Feb 13, 2014I am trying to create the artwork for stickers to cover the front and side of a freezer. I have created the front panel which consists of a block of colour along the top and bottom (with logo in top panel) and then an illlustration in the middle. Now, I want the blocks of colour and illustration to carry on seamlessly to either side to cover the 2 side panels (which are the same height but different width from the central one). Should I create in 3 separate documents and how do I make sure that I follow the illustration at exactly the point where it finishes at either side of the central panel? I haven't been using InDesign very long and I cant work it out.

Dec 16, 2011So I looked up some tutorials on how to do this because I wanted to maybe create some grungey brushes from these photos I took but I can't seem to make a test of what the tutorials tell me to do turn up in my brush palette. I followed both of these tutorials: [URL]. Saved the files as .gbr and .gih (i think is the other one it told me to do) and neither show up with my brushes.
In a related matter, I've never been able to find an option to refresh my brushes, there's no refresh button with the rest of them down the bottom of the palette.

i dont what to calculate the right spacing on each grid cell as the grid filter gives me i just what GIMP to calculate me the right spacing for this image and grip line width.

Oct 24, 2013I'm trying to create a bmp file from my xcf file (Gimp OSX 2.8.4). I do this by exporting it and choosing bmp as the file extension. When I look a the new image in Mac Preview, it looks OK. The image displays properly and the file type shows "Windows bitmap image" as its kind. All seems well...
However, when I try to use this file in OpenGL, it renders in green (its an image of natural wood). So what's up? I go to the command line and type "file wood.bmp" and the response is "wood.bmp: data". It should say "wood.bmp: PC bitmap, Windows 3.x format, 128 x 128 x 12" (or something similar).
Somehow this file has not been created quite correctly.

Apr 30, 2012I have difficulties managing the following: I have a disk area (A minimap) and I want to add one (or two) small borders (that look bumpy) around the disk.
I basically want to achieve something like this: [URL]..... As you can see it has an outer border ring (with a very small line in the middle) and another inner ring. The outer ring drops a little shadow onto the inner ring.
I tried the following: Made a circle (with selection tool) -> Selection -> Shrink (3px) -> Filled with grayish color. Now I have a ring and I tried to apply various filters onto this ring to create a border (mainly decor -> border filter, but they all produced weird results).

May 29, 2008getting my web page just right in photoshop only to find when I saved it front page will not open it.
I saved it for web in photoshop under HTML and Images, when I try to open it in photoshop it says,
"couldn't open file...." then states it's location.
I am totally new to front page and this is my first site I have tried putting together why wont it open?
I cant finish off the editing properly and ultimatly make a nice looking website.

Jan 12, 2009I'm trying to print a flyer that has art on the front and back. I copied the images to Microsoft Word on page one and two. I then printed page one and then turned the page over and printed page two on the back. Though I have the same settings for page one and two, it's not aligning.
Is there another way to do this so I can get perfect alignment for the front and back of the page. Can I do this with Photoshop or should I use a table in Microsoft Word or should I use another program altogether like Adobe Pagemaker or Quarkexpress.

The back is n87d58'41"E with a length of 113.21. The east side is N25d53'25"E with a length of 118.29'. The front of the house has the arc and all it says is curve 18. I have the three sides but don't know how to get the front. The information on the curve is:

But when import it the photo (JPG) it is behind the PDF and I can't seem to get it to come from behind the PDF so I can attach to it. I'm pretty sure I've clicked everything I can with no success. I tried importing the jpg first then importing the PDF, but it still goes behind the PDF.

Filter-> Map -> Bumpmap . Azimuth = 134, Elevation = 46, Depth = 15, Waterlevel = 87, Ambient = 57 .
But it does not feel round... I'm obviously no expert at Gimp. What should I do with the following image to make it feel more round, the center should feel like it's higher...and the corners should feel like they are going around to the back.
