I installed GIMP onto my laptop. What I want to know how to do is to bring the image I'm working on in front of the toolbar windows. I thought I remember reading that you can change a setting but I couldn't find it when I looked in Preferences.

View 2 Replies View Related I am having a problem with dimensions and making them opaque. I want to use "Bring to Front" to solve it, but Revit does not give me this option.
To detail out my problem: I have a dim style style setup to make dimesion text mask out objects behind it. The problem we are having is that if I draw one dimension, then draw a second dimenion that is over top of the first dim's text the second's extension line is not hidden behind the text. If I delete the first text and redraw it, it will then hide the second dim's extension line. The proper solution is to use "Bring to Front" to fix it. But Revit is not giving me this option. I am using 2011 right now. Has this been fixed in newer versions of Revit, or did the programmers never figure we would need to do that?
I have tried turning off all the other layers, selecting everything visible, invoking DRAWORDER, and selecting "front", but when I turn the other layers back on, some of them are still in front of what I want to be visible. It's a big document with a bazillion objects and 20+ layers; going through and selecting every one of them individually could take hours.

View 9 Replies View Relatedon my Windows 7 home computer I am able to create UI progress bars and popup messages for my UI window and everything works just fine. Now, I come to work on the Macintosh and they don't work so well. In this question, I would like to learn if there is a technique to bring a palette to the front when one is created, such as for this progress bar example, on a Mac. The palette appears deactivated and in back for me. It is unseen most of the time because it appears in the center of the screen behind the window by default, and when I move my window we can see the palette but there is no progress bar going on.
As you can see in the screenshot, my main window is deactivated because I attempted to get the progress bar active by deactivating the main window, obviously not successful. I also set the palette to active, which did not work.And, as I have implied, on my home computer on Windows things appear just as expected with the progress bar working and palettes appearing in front and active.
why doesn't gimp remember windows toolbar dock setup at the start on the left hand side and the right side?

For each image, there is specific text that goes with the image (just a simple quote). If it's possible to use Gimp to add text to the side of an image and not actually on the image?
Here's a link to the front page of the site that I'm attempting to add the text to. Currently, the photos are there and you will see the blank space next to the images. This blank space is where I would like to add the text. I've contacted the creator of the plugin and there is no way of doing this from within the plugin, itself.

I used to go: TOOLS > DRAWING ORDER, in order to bring an object to the back or the front of another object.
Now that we are using AM 2012, I can't find where this command is located.
I typically have multiple Photoshop documents open at once along with other programs. Let's say that I want to make a client's revisions. With CS5, I could have my email open and the Photoshop window I'm editing side-by-side. With CS6 and CC, when I click on the window I want to edit, ALL the photoshop windows come to the front, obscuring the email message.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening and only bring the one window I clicked on to the front? There is still an option under Window > Arrange > Bring All to Front, which wouldn't be necessary if the windows are always in front.

I have created a pic in Gimp with layers. When I save it to my desktop (layers merged), it does not appear either on the desktop or in Windows Explorer. If I try to save it again, it flags it as already existing. When I try to open the file in Gimp, it does appear on the desktop and can be opened; however, the file icons are grayed out. I'm assuming the grayed out icon means something.
When I try to bring in a file, It is solid white. There is no image at all
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an image that I removed the background of and then used Refine Edge to place the newly masked image onto a new layer. I now want to take this newly masked image, scale it down a bit, and bring it into another .PSD. When I copy and paste or drag the layer onto the other .PSD it is not bringing the masked image, but something else. I tried selecting both thumnbails of the layer first though that did not work.

But I'm not able to get this function to work. Any small example how to use it.
I think that main problem for me is that I don't know exactly what 2) parameter means(int iFileTypeIndex). It says that you get that from SupportedExtensions but When I look at it:
virtual QVector<FileExtension> SupportedExtensions( void );
It surely dosen't look int.
Is it possible to bring different layers to the front in different parts of an image?
I'm working on a project that involves putting together 100x100 pixel squares from different images. I start with one image in each layer and delete 100x100 chunks of different layers until the image I need for that square is visible.
I am looking for a way to make front view of a tire look like it's rotating ... i.e. the tread is moving. I have tried moving the tread, but that didn't look right.
I have seen it done but can't recreate it. I have attached an example .
I have an image of a room, and I want to add the ability to click different parts to zoom in (by scaling up background image) and have the relevant information appear. I don't know if the best way is to have all the "camera zooms" and information on one timeline (have to manually animate everything dissapearing, fiddly), or to separate them into symbols and call them up?

I have looked in Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC and can't find the 'Front Image' button.
How do I bring it up?
I have a little problem with the cropping tool in the new CS6 version.
In CS5 I had the oppotunity to choose "Front image" and the crop tool would copy the dimensions from the chosen image.
Now I made a mistake and cropped a picture with the wrong dimensions. Ususally I choose "original ratio", but this time I forgot. Then normally in CS5 I just choose one of the other pictures in my workspace (with the original dimensions) and hit the "front image" button, and then I got back the the picture I cropped in the wrong dimenions, and now I could easily crop it with the right dimensions.
I found another discussion in the forum that answered exactly this question, and it said "Try pressing 'R' in crop mode. It will open Crop Image Size & Resolution window, where you can choose Source: Custom, Front Image, etc."
But when I press "R" in the crop mode nothing like that comes up. Instead the opportunity to rotate comes up... :-( Not what I was looking for.
What to do? I work on a PC.
Along the bottom of the screen we want to add one of the text components - which will have a rectangle background and text saying call now and a phone number - then we want to add an image of a phone but we can't get the phone image in front of the text background - it is hiding behind the bar.... it's a bit like you see on the shopping channels with a phone number at the bottom of the screen - but we also want the image of the phone - how can you change the order of how these tracks are laid on top of each other?

1. Select an image > right hand click on that image > Arrange > I cant perform ---> Bring to front, Bring forward, Send backward or Send to back.
How can I get multiple images on 1 page to line up when printing on both sides? Dimensions are 3.5x2.5, 9 to a page. They are sportscards for son's baseball team. They are slightly off by 2-3 cm on all 4 sides and in betweeen. Extremely frustrating. I tried printing in Photoshops but text is blurry. In Lightroom, Images look absolutely perfect. If they would only line up. Using a Canon MG 6200 if that matters.
