Photoshop :: Keep Solid Image Still In Front Of An Animation Scene
Nov 8, 2004
How would you keep solid image still in front of an animation scene. Let's say I make animated rain and I want to put a picture in front of the animation. I tried this, but my image kept moving when I wanted it to be still.
I'll describe what I'm trying to do because it seems like it should be very easy...
I have a 1/4" thick panel, 24"x12". I'm trying to apply text to the front of this solid, then engrave the letters through the 1/4" panel. If I right-click to customize the ribbon, I can select the text button, but it is grayed out. This seems like such a simple task, I'm wondering why I'm struggling with it.
Trying to animate an scene with a boxing match, and Im trying to figure out how to make the character deformation happen without using reactor if at all possible.. example everytime a punch is landed I want the character skin to deform from the other character's mesh(make sense). but if I can make this happen from viewport instead of relying on reactor it.
When I merge an animated camera from another scene, the movement setting keys for the camera and target are there, but it appears that animated exposure settings are not. Is there a way to import those with the camera, as well?
I'm new to Maya 2011 and simply put, I need to know the basics of animating a camera around a scene, along a path, slowing down and speeding up, how to move the point of interest, that type of thing.
In my scene i have a fully rigged character, with a walk cycle animation on him. what i would like to have is a row of characters walking around. (kind of like how you see military soldiers walk around while in group). The part that is giving me the most trouble with this is getting multiple copies of the same character into my scene.
What i have tried and failed with: Grouping my full rig and then duplicating. making instances of my character and messing around with particles. i have made multiple attempts at trying to use duplicate special.
the only thing that seems to kind of work is making a scene with just one character and importing it into my main scene and changing a bunch of stuff around. with the amount of copies i need this workflow just feels really degrading and tiresome.
I have a hard time copying/pasting graph editor curves from a scene to another, since it`s only a specific part of the timeline, is there some basic rules that are to be observed for things to work properly? Yes after a thousand tries i`m going to have to edit every darn ecking curves accordingly to those i wanted to copy.
I have a little problem with the cropping tool in the new CS6 version.
In CS5 I had the oppotunity to choose "Front image" and the crop tool would copy the dimensions from the chosen image.
Now I made a mistake and cropped a picture with the wrong dimensions. Ususally I choose "original ratio", but this time I forgot. Then normally in CS5 I just choose one of the other pictures in my workspace (with the original dimensions) and hit the "front image" button, and then I got back the the picture I cropped in the wrong dimenions, and now I could easily crop it with the right dimensions.
I found another discussion in the forum that answered exactly this question, and it said "Try pressing 'R' in crop mode. It will open Crop Image Size & Resolution window, where you can choose Source: Custom, Front Image, etc."
But when I press "R" in the crop mode nothing like that comes up. Instead the opportunity to rotate comes up... :-( Not what I was looking for.
How do I align models to an image on the scene? I have a scene with an image of a city in the background (which will also appear on the render) and I am trying to align some models to the buildings on the image. These buildings will be used as a target for attacks.
Steps I have tried so far:
1. I thought of doing everything in the 3ds max's front viewport with the image perfectly aligned to the viewport and then aligning the models to the buildings on the image. The problem here is that I have a space ship entering the scene after a few frames and I see that some sides of the space ship are not visible on the render cause the render is from the front viewport.
2. Secondly I thought of putting the image as a viewport background using ALT + B and then aligning the objects, but this step is very tedious as I move or pan around the scene then the whole alignment is lost.
3. Finally I tried creating a static camera with the image being the main focus covering the entire viewport and then aligning objects. In this way I don't have much play area to send in the fighters that comes down from the space ship to attack the city as the camera is very close to the image.
Trying to master Pflow systems & FumeFX with this project. I really wanted to do this.
I have posted some screen shots:
1. The Image. 2. The buildings aligned using the front viewport. 3. The fighters 4. The Spaceship
Along the bottom of the screen we want to add one of the text components - which will have a rectangle background and text saying call now and a phone number - then we want to add an image of a phone but we can't get the phone image in front of the text background - it is hiding behind the bar.... it's a bit like you see on the shopping channels with a phone number at the bottom of the screen - but we also want the image of the phone - how can you change the order of how these tracks are laid on top of each other?
I'm building a site with WordPress and installed a plugin that will create a slider of images on the front page. For each image, there is specific text that goes with the image (just a simple quote). If it's possible to use Gimp to add text to the side of an image and not actually on the image?
Here's a link to the front page of the site that I'm attempting to add the text to. Currently, the photos are there and you will see the blank space next to the images. This blank space is where I would like to add the text. I've contacted the creator of the plugin and there is no way of doing this from within the plugin, itself.
I installed GIMP onto my laptop. What I want to know how to do is to bring the image I'm working on in front of the toolbar windows. I thought I remember reading that you can change a setting but I couldn't find it when I looked in Preferences.
How can I get multiple images on 1 page to line up when printing on both sides? Dimensions are 3.5x2.5, 9 to a page. They are sportscards for son's baseball team. They are slightly off by 2-3 cm on all 4 sides and in betweeen. Extremely frustrating. I tried printing in Photoshops but text is blurry. In Lightroom, Images look absolutely perfect. If they would only line up. Using a Canon MG 6200 if that matters.
I am trying to do some minor animation with a shaded solid model. I have tried mslide and a script... this make s very jerky, flashing animation.
I tried a lisp routine to move the object in small increments, again the motion is very flashy and slow, as it appears to struggle perhaps with the shading.
I noticed doing a move command, and moving the same object manually, dragging the object around the screen with a mouse makes for pretty smooth motion. Way better than what I was doing.... Is there a way to do this programatically?
when I am trying to use the lighting style scenes (such as old warehouse) I get this message "Cannot find the source Oldwarehouse of the image based lighting" and the background image does not appear I only get the same old gradient backgroud. (see attached file)
I know the IBL files exist and know where they are but I have moved the folders from the default location on my C: drive due to space reasons and changed the respective filepaths in the application options. However it seems inventor has not understood that the path to these IBL background files has changed... is there some filepath setting somewhere that I have missed?
I have a image plane. I would like to move the image of the plane in animation. It looks out then masking. I need only some parts of the image in frame one, and I need other parts of the image on frame 100. The plane isn't moving, only the image is moving in the box.
I only just got photoshop yesterday and I barely know a thing but I have got an image with 3 layers and I want to make it into a simple animation, displaying each layer in turn.
I have a very basic question; how do I create an animated gif in image ready using 2 or more images. I create what I want using the first image and when I select the second image it starts a new animation. I am trying to create an animation using 9 images that will dissolve from one to the other.
As a follow up, I found a tutorial that says open 2 photos in PS and drag one onto the other to form 2 layers each with a different photo. When I go to drag the one onto the other it makes the photo I'm dragging the active one. How do I open 2 photos, or more?
I've almost never used Image Ready so I'm pretty much lost at sea here. I've read the help files but can't find my problem addressed. I have two images, each in a layer, and I want to fade from one to the other and back again.
In Image Ready I created frames from layers, then duped frame #1 to frame#3. Then I tweened the transitions frames. Looks great in the animation palette. Looks good when I play the animation in Image Ready.
When I export to SWF format and play the file in my browser, the initial image and final image are good, but the middle image has gone almost entirely dark. I can see just enough of the outlines to know it's the correct image, but have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
I have never animated in image ready before, generally id use flash, but i wanna give it a shot, I have an Photoshop image with 4 layers and i want to make the animation so that the layers fade into each other, so when web page laods one of the images is there then maybe 3 seconds later it fades out and the other fades in,
changing the existing animated file. I wanted to change one of the slides as well as add a slide. When I go to "Save optimized as" I get a box that says "Replace files" and I get a message stating "some of the specified files already exist in the target location. The files marked below will be replaced: and all that is marked is spacer.gif.
I have the optimize window open on my screen and I have GIF selected to make sure I'm saving it correctly.
I am able to save it as a .psd file but I am unable to update the .gif file version.
I have also tried to save it as a different file name. Am I even able to update animated .gif files?
I want to rotate my image into a animation gif. I can spin it like the face of a clock but not spin it around a central X axis (like a globe spins). How can I do this?
