Oct 19, 2013I have a problem docking the windows. The tool options window somehow detached itself and I just can't figure out how to dock it again.
There are a couple of very light colored lines which are used for docking. I don't see any lines on the "Tool Options" window or any other window for that matter.

Aug 25, 2013When I try to start the CC in 64 bit mode I get the error 0x0000005. (in 32 bit there is no problem)
I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit and have been using other Photoshop versions without any problem. My current version of Photoshop is CS6. I've updated the Nvidia driver and that didn't work.
GIMP :: Page Setup Doesn't Appear To Accept Changes
Apr 15, 2013I am trying to print in landscape on a 5x7. In Image I change print size to 5x7 with no problem. In Page Setup I change from A4 to 5x7, select landscape and click OK. I double check and its restored all settings back to A4. If I print I get half my image in portrait.
The page setup does not appear to accept my changes, why?

Jan 7, 2014I did a complete uninstall of GIMP 2.6. Then a complete install of GIMP 2.8. No errors during installation. When I run GIMP, Windows draws a window frame with the title "GIMP Startup" but the inside of the window remains unpainted (whatever was behind it remains visible). This window frame exists for maybe one second and then closes. I have waited a long time but nothing continues. Task Manager confirms that no application is running. I uninstalled, downloaded again, reinstalled (even just a "compact" installation), but same thing.
System Info:
Windows XP Home SP3, up to date
2 GB RAM
Paging file initial 3058 MB, max 6116 MB

Aug 23, 2012Goes straight to a black box that says not responding then gets to looking for data files and then windows takes over and searches for a solution before shutting the whole works down. Takes about 30 secs.
I just installed this because 2.6 was doing the same thing.

Apr 28, 2013Experiencing problems with the dimension tool since upgrading to Corel Draw X6 at this end, which hasn't been resolved with the updates.
I work in mm. The system doesn't remember the default settings if I change my preferences for it to measure in mm via the customisation window or the toolbox as it used to in previous versions. When I open the program again or start a new document, the measurement default keeps changing back to ["] (inches). Sometimes, it will jump back to inches after I change the default to mm when I'm working on the same document.
Same problem seems to be happening with the other units of measure available as well.
Current workaround - the only time it seems to remember my settings is if I change the default to mm and then save a document.
I can fwd a video screen capture which shows the problem if that would work.

Jul 4, 2013I have modified one of the toolbars (Text toolbar) with many useful for me commands. Many of them are not visible when this toolbar is "docked" to Corel's interface, that's why I want to view it floating.
But because there is "Object Information" from Status Bar, and it is only one line (very wide indeed, and I cannot find a way to make it in two or more lines of text (?)) this toolbar became very wide and I want to hide and show it with a shortcut. It is annoying to right click on interface, to click on "Text" to open when I need it, and to go to "x" to close it all the time.
Now I am looking to find a way to assign a shortcut to open and close it. Is this possible in CorelDRAW X6?

Adjust--->Brightness and Contrast---->Brightness/Contrast
then manually adjust the values and click OK.However these multiple steps is somehow unhandy. Even if I put the Brightess/contrast icon into the toolbar I still have always to adjust the actual values.
I want to perform this operation by ONE click.Is there a way to put a customized icon into toolbar which (when clicked) performs always the brightness/contrast operation with my pre-defined values regardless which values are set up currently in the "normal" brightness/Contrast dialog?

Paint Shop Pro :: Lost Extensive Custom Toolbar Setup - 14
May 25, 2012In the past week or two, I took time to re-create the tool button config in PSP14 that I've used for many years in Paint Shop Pro. However, the next day I see PSP14 has reset to the DEFAULT toolbars!!
Why did this happen? Was it failure to SAVE the configuration? Are my toolbars lost now? any way to restore besides button-by-button reconfig?
GIMP :: Split Screen Dock In 2.8
Sep 19, 2012I just loaded Gimp 2.8 from 'ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp' with the idea of using the 'all-in-one' new arrangement. I am using Mint 13 Maya and the new gimp interface is not yet in the repository.
That said, having opened the 'new' gimp I see the docks arrangement is a bit different. Whereas there used to be two docks one on either side of the drawing area, now the right hand dock is split screen.
The problem is that just for say the colour wheel it uses loads of screen space. I know I can toggle between 'all-in-one' and multi-mode but they both have a split screen for the docks on the right.
I don't see any obvious way to move the colour wheel dock back to where it has been under the toolbox and brushes docks.
Maybe this is a fixed arrangement in 2.8, if so I will have to go back to my Mint 13 native version.
GIMP :: How To Restore The Default Dock
Oct 14, 2012I can't figure out how to restore the default dock (may not be the correct terminology). This has the tools up top, and then, depending on what tool is selected, some settings on the bottom.
I've been in the windows tab trying to locate the dock and can't. Hitting "tab" on the keyboard opens another singular dock. I would like the original multifunction one that comes on install.
I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it remembered my dock settings.

Sep 13, 2012Sometimes Iwould close by mistake a tool dock by clicking alt-F4 a little toofast, while the dock has the focus, but I thought it was the image(and I wanted to close this image). Then the dock configuration (whichtools were set there, which tabs,size and position of the dock andtabs, etc.) is lost. So of course, I can always recreate the dock,reposition/resize it, set the right tools inside. But that's boring.
would therebe an option right now to prevent the tool docks from closing by theusual window-close event (so you could close them by the dock menuexplicitely, but not by quick shortcut for instance)?

Apr 6, 2011I'm using Gimp 2.6.8 on Windows and, somehow, the Tool Options separated into a new window a week or so ago. I tried docking it back to the Toolbox, but nothing is working.
I googled and found that this is normally fixed by dragging Tool Options onto the Toolbox, but there is nowhere for me to do that. Is there some trick or maybe this is just a bug or something? Nothing seems to work and the separate Tool Options window is incredibly annoying.

Jul 2, 2013I'm new here but an occasional Gimp user since v2.6. I have recently installed the latest version on my new tablet and I was configuring the layout of the docks and realised that there's no way to save different layouts so I could try alternative dock positions to find what suits best to my workflow, or maybe have different ones for depending on what I'm working on.
The only way I could think to achieve this could be to exchange Gimps preferences file, but where is that stored? BTW it would be a nice feature to add in future releases.

Jan 21, 2011My layers dock has gone missing. According to the list in my 'Windows' tab, it claims to be open. I have looked all over the screen. I have switched on and off again etc. I have even deliberately thrown other docks off the screen to see if they come back to normal screen area if I close and reopen Gimp- and they do. so it isn't lost off screen.
I have unistalled and re-insalled and it has not come back.
1. Go to Windows>recently closed docks - Mine says 'empty'
2. File>create docks - I don't have this option- mine choices are 'new', 'create', 'open', 'open as layers', ''open location', 'open recent'... then a few which pertain to having an image open that you're working on... then 'quit'.
3. I went to Youtube and the tutorials on how to make your Gimp like Photoshop and how to get back closed windows also haven't worked.
I'm on Gimp 2.6.

Nov 27, 2011So, my laptop crashed, and I had to start again from scratch. I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 from my CD, and it loaded fine. Only now, no matter which tool I choose from the toolbar (blur, zoom, clone, etc,) it will only show the Hand (move tool?) And that doesnt even work.
