AutoCAD .NET :: How To Bring MText To Front
Jul 17, 2012I have a MText object and a solid hatch. Now the hatch is in front then I can't see the text. What can I do to use code bring the Mtext object to front?

AutoCAD LT :: Bring Everything On Layer To The Front?
Jul 20, 2012I have tried turning off all the other layers, selecting everything visible, invoking DRAWORDER, and selecting "front", but when I turn the other layers back on, some of them are still in front of what I want to be visible. It's a big document with a bazillion objects and 20+ layers; going through and selecting every one of them individually could take hours.

Nov 16, 2012 I am having a problem with dimensions and making them opaque. I want to use "Bring to Front" to solve it, but Revit does not give me this option.
To detail out my problem: I have a dim style style setup to make dimesion text mask out objects behind it. The problem we are having is that if I draw one dimension, then draw a second dimenion that is over top of the first dim's text the second's extension line is not hidden behind the text. If I delete the first text and redraw it, it will then hide the second dim's extension line. The proper solution is to use "Bring to Front" to fix it. But Revit is not giving me this option. I am using 2011 right now. Has this been fixed in newer versions of Revit, or did the programmers never figure we would need to do that?

Sep 15, 2012on my Windows 7 home computer I am able to create UI progress bars and popup messages for my UI window and everything works just fine. Now, I come to work on the Macintosh and they don't work so well. In this question, I would like to learn if there is a technique to bring a palette to the front when one is created, such as for this progress bar example, on a Mac. The palette appears deactivated and in back for me. It is unseen most of the time because it appears in the center of the screen behind the window by default, and when I move my window we can see the palette but there is no progress bar going on.
As you can see in the screenshot, my main window is deactivated because I attempted to get the progress bar active by deactivating the main window, obviously not successful. I also set the palette to active, which did not work.And, as I have implied, on my home computer on Windows things appear just as expected with the progress bar working and palettes appearing in front and active.
AutoCAD LT :: Permanently Send Mtext (with Background Mask) To Front
Nov 19, 2013I have set mtext (with background mask on) to the foreground (using draw order: front, and draw order: above objects) but those settings do not 'stick' and often have to go back and reset all those values over again.
I've also tried using Draw Order on the objects under the text (draw order: behind) which also results inthe text randomly behind in front of or behind objects.
Is there a way to set mtext to be in the foreground permanently and not have to go back and mess with Draw Order all the time?

Now that we are using AM 2012, I can't find where this command is located.

The dwg was fine, then it crashed while changing from modle space to paper space...
When i recovered the dwg, EVERY MTEXT I try to edit becomes rotated vertically and stays that way when i close the edit box...
I do not recall hitting any buttons or making any keystrokes without my knowing...
Is there a way to get my text back to Horizontal and stay that way?
I tried setting the MTEXTFIXED to: 0, 1 & 2.
NONE of these options changed anything.
I NEED to have this fixed. more importantly, i need to know why this is happening sop that i can take steps to prevent this happening in the future...
I am currently working with the latest CAD available.

Jan 15, 2012I draw several different drawings in the same dwg file - just offset from each other in the XY-plane.
I want to bring these together on top of each other to form the complete picture, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this in an easy way. If it was a one time thing I would just use the Move command, but the goal is also for the combined picture to be updated as the separate drawings are changed - not realtime - but maybe in some x-ref kinda way.
The whole thing would be easy if the separate drawings were also separate files, but as they are not I'm not sure how to solve it...

What I would like to do is make Shift+Ctl+right click bring up the shortcut menu, but I cant seem to find it in the command list and when I do searches on google it just brings up stuff about adding an item to the shortcut menu.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Data Referenced Profiles Bring In Multiple Copies Of Alignment
Aug 24, 2010I have a design file that has and alignment with 3 profiles (one surface profilke and two layout profiles)
All these are data referenced to the project. Then they are data referenced into a new file. I bring in one of the profiles that brings in the alignment. Lets call it "Main Street". Then I create another reference to another one fo the profiles and it brings in a copy of an alignment and calls it "Main Street (1)"
This is a pain because I cant get a profile view to show all the profiles because the profiles are associated with three different alignments "Main Street", "Main Street(1)", "Main Street(1)(1)"
This is only happening with one of the of the alignments. The other alignment has all its profiles listed under one alignment.
AutoCad :: Put House On A Lot With Arc Front
Oct 3, 2011I can do a square site plan fine but now I have to put a house on a lot with a arc front. The coordinates are S4d54'02E on the west side with a length of 108.54'. The back is n87d58'41"E with a length of 113.21. The east side is N25d53'25"E with a length of 118.29'. The front of the house has the arc and all it says is curve 18. I have the three sides but don't know how to get the front. The information on the curve is:
Length-55.31'
Radius-50.00'
Delta - 54.09'
Chord direction - s83d44'48"W
chord length - 52.53'

Sep 13, 2011I have 2 viewports. 1 view from the front and another from the side. Is it possible to "hide" the front then hide the other side without it affecting what was just hidden in the other view?
