I have changed the model to show new areas and coloured them in. They show up on the Model, but not on the set up Site Layout that you print. I can highlight part for the drawing and it will print with the changes. However, if I require the whole drawing the Site Layout prints without the changes. What do I need to do?

Have a project folder, with Drawings subfolder, and then subfolder for Model Files and Sheet Files. How do most go about archiving the original drawings without affecting shortcuts and xrefs.

I am trying to import an updated phase (shown in yellow) into an existing site layout (grey) however I cannot get it to rotate round and fit correctly. I imagine it will involve using the rotate command and reference.

I have a bit of a problem with Autocad map 3d 2012. When i try to insert a scale bar or a north arrow or any other carthographic element i simply can't find the layout elements that are supposed to be in layout tools tab. I've done a lot of research online and can't come up with anything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running several flavors of AutoCAD.I installed some add-ins from the Exchange site into vanilla AutoCAD.Now they are showing up in Map, but each on it's own individual Add-Ins tab.I now have 7 Add-Ins and 1 Plug-Ins tabs.
1 - I didn't think the add-ins would work in anything but vanilla AutoCAD (or is it you just can't access them through Exchange?).
2 - is there a way to get them all on one tab (I tried in the CUI but didn't get it to work)?
I've never used AutoCAD before but I'm trying to make a site plan. I attached a picture of the property I'm trying to make a site plan of. Basically, it's a building that 59' by 92' that has a fenced in yard that is roughly a rectangle. I'd like to fit the site plan on regular 8.5"x11" sheet of paper. I know how to draw lines but don't know how to make them the right lengths. It doesn't need to be perfect with angles but I'd like to make it look nice with like a border and titles and such. I've been trying to read up on how to do it but I just get overwhelmed.

Or is there another way of controlling its presence (like visibility states)? I basically need to give the option of either a portion of the title block showing a site location plan OR a section furnished with an mtext box to add general notes.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like the grading of a site to happen only on part of the site; I need the rest of the site to remain unchanged.
I thought I was finished with this project, the volumes seemed about correct, and then I noticed in the comparison surface (showing areas of Cut and areas of Fill) that soil is being taken from parts of the site that need to remain undisturbed. This is a residential site with a conservation easement and other forested areas that we won't be disturbing.
How do I set a boundary or breakline (or what?) to limit the grading/cut/fill to the area I want?

Concept A - Site with FFE of 471
Concept B - Site with FFE of 465
I have (2) separate AutoCAD files; (1) topo, which is at 1"=40'-0" scale, and (1) master site plan from the arch, which is at 1"=30'-0" scale; how do i 'merge' the (2) files and adjust the scales so they match?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fix the grading on a flat site. As part of that I have all the islands labled A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3.
I would like to have the feature lines have the same prefix as the islands. I can create feature line and it will give me the option "Feature". I over write to A1, etc. The next time I add a feature line it flips back to "Feature"
How it picks the prefix for the 6" offset for top & bottom of curb. It would be nice to be able have it keep the prefix until you tell it differently without having to flip to the settings tab for each island.

I have a rogue feature line that I do not know where or why it appeared from. (Somehow it is a duplicate of my curb line, but offset.)I cannot delete this feature line. It is not applied to any surface as a break line, but when I go to delete it, it freezes autocad.
I have done all the basic steps of purging, audit, recovering, even tried mapclean and I still cannot delete it.
Is there a way to control what layer a site is created on?
I am surprised I hadn't noticed until now that a site is actually an AECC_PARCEL In 2012 it comes in on the current layer. This causes some undesirable behavior. If your current layer is locked you are unable to create a site. If you later lock the layer the site is on you are prevented from changing site properties. I found it when I could not purge a layer because it contained the site.

I am a site planner/landscape architect in need of displaying autocad site plans on my ipad / iphone. This is possible through 360, but the limit on file size and xrefs is not allowing me to get all of my info viewable. Also, I am in need of inserting aerial imagery so that I may be able to track my location on site via GPS.

I created a few different Sites as I created Feature lines in order to keep them separate and avoid having one affect the others. The problem is that I am now stuck in the Last Site created. So commands like "QUICKEDITFEATUREELEVS" only see those feature lines in the last Site created. How can I switch to another site so I can quickly edit those feature lines?
View 3 Replies View Relateda civil engineer sent us a .dwg file for a site survey. However, the .dwg contours are just showing up as a series of overlapping rectangles. He attached two .txt files, one for elevation point locations, the other for tree locations. Both give coordinates... i.e. :452,2718.7202,2509.7896,569.4979,GL etc. I know that the .txt file is giving locations, but I do not know how to generate plines etc. from the given coordinates in the .txt file. I downloaded ascponit.lsp, but i'm not sure if this is meant for this...
I'm using AutoCAD 2008.
So I am trying to make a site map for a building my buddy just bought. I found a lot map on the city's online database, cropped it to the area of his lot's block, and saved the image file. I then opened up a new autocad file and xreferenced the image. I know the front of his building on the site is 45' so I made a polyline that is the length of the facade over top of my xref image. Then I selected the image, used the scale command, selected one side of my polyline as a basepoint, used reference, entered 45' as the known length, and then selected the other end of the polyline. My image scaled but is now incredibly small. So small that the entine site isn't even 1". I keep trying but I'm doing something wrong somewhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to print a PDF I get a grayscale drawing; I've been trying to go to the plot styles table in the plot window, my plot style doesn't appear, only appear plot styles with stb extension not ctb as mine is (as in my regular drawings). I made this drawing using a new template, (one of ones that comes by default with the program) and then I imported my layers; maybe thats the problem, but, what can I do?
