AutoCad :: Rotate Drawing From World Grid To Local Site Grid?
Aug 15, 2012When i pick points from the drawing using the ID command i recieve a long and meaningless coordinate which is useless to me when setting out. How i can rotate my drawing so that firstly its aligned with my grid and secondly give it the same coordinates as my site based local coordinated grid?

Feb 17, 2013So I am trying to make a site map for a building my buddy just bought. I found a lot map on the city's online database, cropped it to the area of his lot's block, and saved the image file. I then opened up a new autocad file and xreferenced the image. I know the front of his building on the site is 45' so I made a polyline that is the length of the facade over top of my xref image. Then I selected the image, used the scale command, selected one side of my polyline as a basepoint, used reference, entered 45' as the known length, and then selected the other end of the polyline. My image scaled but is now incredibly small. So small that the entine site isn't even 1". I keep trying but I'm doing something wrong somewhere.

Photoshop :: Grid Making For Pixel Art
May 26, 2011this will mark my first question, but most certainly not my last. What I am creating is a 2D array or grid that is in the shape of a square, rotated 45 degrees, and cut to 50% in height. What I would like to know is, what is the best way to create that object? I have created one with the square tool and converted it into a smart object. Is this the best way? or just one way? I would also like to know how to apply a 1X1 pixel grid to just the object,not the entire canvas? It should also share the same attributes that is 45 degree angle and 50% height.
*I also forgot to mention I am using CS5*

Oct 17, 2004I want to take an image (doesn't matter what) and lay a finely bordered grid over it.
Then I will be filling in certain spots of the grid with the background color, essentially making it look like a large digitized image.
Now imagine an image filled in that grid. If the web page background was green, then I'd take random squares and fill them in as green.
Should I be drawing the grid? Erasing the background of an existing image? I've experimented with different things but really haven't come close to the desired effect.
I use PS7.

Jul 23, 2012I have a user and when he's in sketch mode he trys to draw a line but it keeps on snapping to a grid. Both snap and grid setting are switched off. I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.

Jan 18, 2012Understanding that composite volumes are typically more accurate, I have a reason to evaluate the volume between two surfaces via a grid volume. Easily created a grid volume surface using a 50' grid (50' is large for this site, but wanted to get a feel for calculation time).
Question: Can you change the grid size without creating a new grid surface? Ultimately I woud like to explore the difference in volumes based on grid sizing without creating a long list of surfaces. One would expect that you could chage the grid spacing in surface properties, but the values are non-editable.

Revit :: How To Locate Lay-in Ceiling Grid With Grid Intersection In Center Of Room
Feb 16, 2012Revit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.

Apr 25, 2013When using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.

Sep 10, 2013I'm looking for an option to adjust the grid size and to snap-to-grid.
For some purposes, you can find a way around this, but it is a pain when working on a project that requires perfect precision.
The topic has been brought up before, but I'm hoping to hear of any news on the possibility of implementing it. I don't assume there has been made any plugins to cater this need since earlier posts on the matter, so I'm hoping to persuade developers to implement the feature in a new version of paint.net instead.
If you need to know more specifically what I'm looking for, then it's basically what you have in Adobe Illustrator or any decent 3D modelling software you will ever come across. It would work pretty much exactly like the grid already in place, except you would not be limited to working only with individual pixels, but rather groups of pixels as you zoom further out. The grid would preferably have thicker lines every 5, 10 or 15 lines, etc. for user to position the various elements.

Aug 10, 2011I'm using Paint.NET 3.5.8 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.
While editing small (16 x 16) images, I noticed that Paint.NET used a grid with a width of 2 pixels. Selection rectangles snap to this grid, as do paste operations.
How can I specify the grid width or disable this snap to grid effect altogether?

So, I want to use a grid that I can fill in the individual sections of to create this image, and then remove the grid afterwards when I finish, or at least make it completely invisible.

Mar 12, 2012I'm running several flavors of AutoCAD.I installed some add-ins from the Exchange site into vanilla AutoCAD.Now they are showing up in Map, but each on it's own individual Add-Ins tab.I now have 7 Add-Ins and 1 Plug-Ins tabs.
1 - I didn't think the add-ins would work in anything but vanilla AutoCAD (or is it you just can't access them through Exchange?).
2 - is there a way to get them all on one tab (I tried in the CUI but didn't get it to work)?
AutoCad :: How To Draw A Site Plan
Sep 4, 2012I've never used AutoCAD before but I'm trying to make a site plan. I attached a picture of the property I'm trying to make a site plan of. Basically, it's a building that 59' by 92' that has a fenced in yard that is roughly a rectangle. I'd like to fit the site plan on regular 8.5"x11" sheet of paper. I know how to draw lines but don't know how to make them the right lengths. It doesn't need to be perfect with angles but I'd like to make it look nice with like a border and titles and such. I've been trying to read up on how to do it but I just get overwhelmed.

I can highlight part for the drawing and it will print with the changes. However, if I require the whole drawing the Site Layout prints without the changes. What do I need to do?

Dec 20, 2011I would like the grading of a site to happen only on part of the site; I need the rest of the site to remain unchanged.
I thought I was finished with this project, the volumes seemed about correct, and then I noticed in the comparison surface (showing areas of Cut and areas of Fill) that soil is being taken from parts of the site that need to remain undisturbed. This is a residential site with a conservation easement and other forested areas that we won't be disturbing.
How do I set a boundary or breakline (or what?) to limit the grading/cut/fill to the area I want?

Jun 2, 2012I am trying to fix the grading on a flat site. As part of that I have all the islands labled A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3.
I would like to have the feature lines have the same prefix as the islands. I can create feature line and it will give me the option "Feature". I over write to A1, etc. The next time I add a feature line it flips back to "Feature"
How it picks the prefix for the 6" offset for top & bottom of curb. It would be nice to be able have it keep the prefix until you tell it differently without having to flip to the settings tab for each island.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Can't Delete Feature Line From Site
Jul 17, 2012I have a rogue feature line that I do not know where or why it appeared from. (Somehow it is a duplicate of my curb line, but offset.)I cannot delete this feature line. It is not applied to any surface as a break line, but when I go to delete it, it freezes autocad.
I have done all the basic steps of purging, audit, recovering, even tried mapclean and I still cannot delete it.
