When loading a previously saved item the preview shows the "complete job lot" however when you load the item it does not load the full drawing and is missing approx 3 hrs of work.
how to load the full document, I have tried the recovery manager which only loads the part document

I was trying to save a large file as a Photoshop PDF and my program crashed. I was lucky enough to have saved this file in both a JPEG and PNG format onto my desktop but now once I move the files back into Elements, I have no history and no layers?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a capstone lab project due tomorrow for my graphic arts class and I made a HUGE mistake!!! I created an image using 20 something layers and did SAVE AS as a .xcf image (with all layers open). Part of the project was to save in different formats: .xcf (with open layers), a .png, and a .jpeg (optimized). So, I did the first save and then flattened the image to SAVE AS a .png with a different file name.
Long story short, I was tired and had way too many images open at once. When I was closing all of the images I accidentally saved the changes (flatten image) to my original .xcf (with open layers)!!!! Now, my .xcf that is supposed to have open layers only has one layer...the finished project!! I tried going to the file properties to restore a previous version, but it says that no previous versions were found! I also downloaded a norton "unerase" utility, but maybe I am not scanning properly to locate the file!?!
So I spent 4 days working on a profile last week. And this morning I opened it up and accidentally erased the alignment, saved and closed the drawing (I must have thought it was in another drawing, and I wasn't paying attention).
Now the profile is gone and I'm wondering if I can open up a drawing that was saved before I did this mix up. I checked my autosave path, but the path doesn't exist. So I don't know where it's be autosaving to.
I use AutoCAD 2005, and I've made project logs which contain mtext for logging work I do each day, and tables for logging Revisions and prints and whatnot related to the project. I've noticed, especially since adding the tables to the log template, that sometimes I cannot select the mtext, but if I go to paperspace and doubleclick in a viewport, I can select it, and once I do that, and move the text and then move it back, I can go back to modelspace and select it just fine. Right now I have one particular project log dwg file that does this every time I open it, and if I save the drawing in modelspace, the next time I open it, I have the problem in modelspace, but if I save it in paperspace, it's the other way around and I can select it in modelspace. Does this have something to do with a bug in the tables? The problems seemed to have started once I implemented the tables. I've also noticed that when I layiso defpoints, I can't select anything on defpoints; I'm not sure if that's related or not.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just wrote about the crash on scroll. Now when I try to open the file draw goes through the motions of opening it and end up with an untitled document. The entire file has been destroyed. I've had this kind of trouble before but not since I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. It makes Draw almost impossible to use since any action even saving might trigger a crash and with the crash comes the possibility that the file is lost. Does this behaviour was specifically addressed and fixed with any of the service packs? I'm still using the original build.

However, now I can't open internet and do photoshop. I have to restart my computer to run photoshop and make sure I don't use any other program. Sometimes the file only lasts 30 minutes before it won't allow me to edit.

I have A LOT of room left on my computer. 706GB free of 907GB. I tried to clean my computer, but that didn't work. It also is saying extrusion file is curruptied or damaged.
I have installed Photoshop CS6, am running on Mac 10.6.8 and now EVERY file I open in PS opens up at 0.071%. Tried throwing away preferences, no change. Have looked over every PS forum and the net in general for ANY clue on this one.

I think a specific document is causing Ai to crash, so after Ai crashes, it tries to re-open the file when I restart Ai, then it crashes again - ad infinitum!
When opening older documents, why does PS CS6 mess up my text layers when I select them? I open the .psd from CS5 in a file with many text layers, the text is correct when opeinging the file but when i click on it to edit it, data from another layer replaces the selected text!

I just want to import as curves and not substitute fonts.
I noticed over the last few days that Corel was taking a while to open files. Like, if I had one open already it was usually fast enough, but if Corel wasn't open I'd get an error from the file manager I use saying it couldn't execute the program. Every time though, if I closed CorelDraw, and open a new instance of the program I'd be fine again.
Today has been different. Today I've had to restart corel practically every time I've tried to open a document. A few minutes ago I couldn't even get corel to open.
Right now where I'm at: I can open corel, I can change workspaces, but I can't open any file or even a 'new blank document' It freezes/hangs with the processing bar at about 80 %.
I'm going to try a restore point. I brag about how stable my system is, this makes no sense, I don't think it is a corel problem, I've noticed a ton of updates from Windows starting middle of last week. I just figured it would work itself out. I'll post every step I take. Oh, and by the way, I can open PhotoPaint Just fine.
I've removed update KB2853952 - Improvement only in that I can open corel, but can't open a new document or an existing document. I've done an F8 while starting up Corel Draw and reset to factory specs. No change. Deleted all 10,006 items in my temp folder. No change. System restore back to 9/10/2013 worked. Corel functions as expected.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6
When I open an Illustrator file with many layers, nested groups, etc. I have to spend the first minute or so closing all the nested layers in the layers palette.
I've searched for a preference but can't find anything to tell Illustrator to open with all layer triangles closed. Is this possible?
When I open a drawing in Autocad 2014, the drawing name opens as drawing1 or drawing2, etc. Â The files have been saved with a drawing name, however when I open them after saving they open as a unsaved file.

I have a document that is 18" x 42" and contains drop shadows. It was created using CS6. When I apply a graphic style (gradient and drop shadow) It has a progress bar that says "Drop Shadow" and it fills up and freezes. I recreated the document, and I am having the same issue repeatedly.

In order to do what I needed, I had to ungroup the letters recieving the graphic style and apply it to each letter individually. If I try applying it to more than one object, the freeze happens again.

I can open the same document in CS4 on the same system with no issues, it takes less than 5 seconds to load.
is there a preference so that I can turn off documents opening full screen?

It's as if they don't even exist.However, I can find them if I open them through CS3. I've tried 'save as'. i tried saving as a copy, renamnig it, saving for web and devices as a jpeg, saving, yeah. And I'm not saving them as progressive jpegs, either.

We provide the files in PDF format, but unlike with .ai files, I can't find a way to save a PDF in CS6 making it fully compatible with CS5. It's of course possible to open the PDF in CS5, but the text gets fragmented into clusters of sometimes words, sometimes a few letters, which makes it unwieldy for customers who need to edit the original.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have cdx5 (fully patched) running on a windows 7 pro x64 machine (c++, directx, updates all current) that has an issue when saving a file to a mapped network drive. The file will save error free but when you try to open the file again at a later date it gives a c++ runtime error (this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unexpected way).
If i save the file locally then move it to the network share it seems fine. It can be opened and edited with out issue.
CDx5 needs to save to the mapped drive as the server runs onsite and offsite backups. There is a large volume of files that are changed/created daily. Saving locally and then copied to the server manually is also not an option as the user cannot be relied upon to ensure the files are copied to the server.
I find when i open any file i have saved as an X6 file CorelDraw crashes ...the only way it works is if i open a blank template or older file (not saved in x6) first

It is as a new satring file. I tried opening the html file as well but got the same result. I still can run the html file and see my project but can not open them in Animate and do any modification.

I am on a Mac and installed all the software a few days ago.
I'm trying to customise my drawing templates to keep them up to date and also include accountability.I seem to be having trouble in including the name of the person who has last saved the model, and the date the model was last saved.
Manually including this information isn't ideal as people will forget, and it makes it harder to trace revisions.I can't see anywhere on the iProperties where the 'Last saved by' feature is available, but I thought maybe the information could be pulled from the username from the application options?
The last saved date should be easy, as there is a modified date in the model's iproperties; however, I cannot pull this information.I have used other cad packages in the past and this was never an issue. With all the customisation of Inventor, I thought this would be relatively straight  forward.
We are doing tank drawings and the company now wants a custom format/style of table (attached as jpg) to be on all the drawings (which are complete already) which will be the cleanest way to get a table like that. I tried making something in Excel and inserting as a Gen. Table, but each of the cell borders show up.
Would I just do a sketch and insert text boxes where necessary?
