When I open a .dwg file from a saved location auto cad crashes about 35% of the way through loading. I did not have this problem when I was running Windowws XP but now I am running Windows 7.
View 6 RepliesI work with a national company that creates criteria drawings for new projects. They recently changed to the 2012 version but they save it down to 2007. There has not been an issue with opening files with my 2009 version until recently. All of the computers in our office are unable to open these new files, although they claim nothing has changed. My CAD will pop up a fatal error and shut down whenever I attempt to open the new files. I downloaded the 2013 trial version and saved the file down to the older version, but that does not work either. Newer versions do not seem to be affected by the files, just my 2009 version. I tried creating a new file in 2013 and saved down to 2007 format. When I try to open it 2009 there is no issue. besides purchasing a new version of AutoCAD?

Manufacturer: DLS
Processor: AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 5200B 2.70 GHZ
Installed Memory (RAM): 1.50 GB (1.25 GB Usable)
32 Bit Operating System
There is no crash report. With Bridge CS5 everything works fine. (Opening RAWs with minibridge CS6 works file too.)

- Recently we have upgrade to Inventor 2012.
- Installed pspro_cad_fp_10.0.39.3 update for PSP Server and for PSP Clients.
And now, some drawings we can not open in Inventor 2012. Inventor crashes!
But some drawings we are lucky to be able to open and work with.
Drawings have the same template.
If the drawing is locked (read only) then inventor 2012 can open it without a crash.
If I drag&drop drawing out from PSP onto my Desktop, Inventor 2012 can open drawing without problems.
So we are not able to work with some drawings in Inventor 2012 and PSP 2011.
As the first and quick (and 100%) solution - rollback to Inventor 2010 can cost us about 5 man-days of work. (Because we have done some work in Inventor 2012 allready and will not be able to work with this in Inventor 2010)
I have two drawings A and B. I work in A and I need some design elements from B.
When I open the drawing B everything I have in drawing A disappeared. I refer to all elements of design (blocks, lines, polylines, etc.).
After studying the issue have concluded that the design of all elements were automatically isolated. Right click> Isolate> End Object Isolation and everything reappears in drawing A.
I mention that I installed Autocad Map 3D 2012 x64 on Windows 7 x64 and work in Map Classic Workspace using the same coordinate system in both drawings.
I bought a new laptop Asus k73SV-TY081V version. When i'm working with autoCAD 2012, my videocard crashes and i get a message: "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7® stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe are running LT 2010. I have one drawing that crashes Autocad while the drawing is trying to open. The drawing is about 13 Meg. The crash occurs when it gets to the regen step. The program does not continue and it is necessary to go to the Task Manager. Autocad shows as not responding. Performance shows 50 - 100% CPU usage. The task must be ended. CPU usage drops to < 10%. The recovery utilities say that everything is OK and make no difference. It is doing the same thing on another PC. About 10 Meg of the file is one block. I can open that block separately without a problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm quite a newbie at image editing, I only use The Gimp to resize pictures and to do similar "simple" tasks. For a few times now, and more systematically since the last update, The Gimp crashes while opening high-res images (at least 1000x1000 px).

Although I can randomly succeed in opening this kind of files, I always have to retry several times.
I'm using it in Windows 7 Pro SP1, installed the latest version for Windows 2.8.4 (in French).

As soon as I open a piece or try to make a new piece, it crashes! I can open the program but can't use it! I installed it and activated it and I can't use the program at all. I have sent many error reports beacuse I have opened it many times and had it crash many times and have always given my email address. Attached is the Error Report Details screen shot.

On the splash screen it details all the files being loaded and when it gets to the dwt file it just hangs at 0%. In the windows task manager, acad.exe stops using memory (around 90megs) and the cpu stops too. It's get's really frustrating, especially as it only seems to affect our new Dell Optiplex's and a couple of our old Dell Precisions. Some of them work first time every time, no probs. All PC's are Windows 7 Pro 64bit and running the latest service packs for AutoCAD.

My co-worker uses CS3 and can't open the template I made using CS5. I haven't found an option anywhere to be able to downsave the template file to an earlier version. allow my co-worker to open the template file without having any compatibility issues?

I defined alignments and a surface in Civil 3d, then reopened the same drawing in Autocad 2012 to amend some line work (just because I like drafting in this better). When I next needed to do an inquiry off the surface, I opened the drawing in C3D, but all the alignments and my surfaces were gone! Why doesn't C3D retain alignments/surfaces after you've opened a drawing in Autocad 2012? Would you recommend keeping a separate C3D base drawing for the design work, and another for the drafting? and just xref-ing between the two?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have cdx5 (fully patched) running on a windows 7 pro x64 machine (c++, directx, updates all current) that has an issue when saving a file to a mapped network drive. The file will save error free but when you try to open the file again at a later date it gives a c++ runtime error (this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unexpected way).
If i save the file locally then move it to the network share it seems fine. It can be opened and edited with out issue.
CDx5 needs to save to the mapped drive as the server runs onsite and offsite backups. There is a large volume of files that are changed/created daily. Saving locally and then copied to the server manually is also not an option as the user cannot be relied upon to ensure the files are copied to the server.
I made this two different small project yesterday. Now, opening them and I see nothing in the content area and no time line at all, no assets or symbol shows. It is as a new satring file. I tried opening the html file as well but got the same result. I still can run the html file and see my project but can not open them in Animate and do any modification.
I am on a Mac and installed all the software a few days ago.
OK then update. I select never show this message agian ever (my favorite ) - but guess what a it pops back up. Nothing is wrong with the assembly
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe recently purged our part templates of unused materials and appearances because there were duplicates after our merge between our original 2012 library and 2013 library. We deleted these duplicates but retained all materials that inventor uses by default, such as the "default" material.
Creating new files causes no problems, however when opening a .STEP file Inventor immedietly crashes and exits to the desktop. We tried re-assigning the default templates that came with our install of 2013 and we can open STEP files just fine.
We tried uninstalling the latest update (Update 2 for SP1.1) but that did not change the problem.
We are using confirmed STEP files that have opened fine in the past and new STEP files that are freshly downloaded. NOTE: the same crash occurs with .SAT and .IGES files as well, however we primarliy use STEP files.
This is occuring on two seperate machines, both running Windows 7 64-Bit with i7 processors and 16 Gigabites of RAM.
I was trying to save a large file as a Photoshop PDF and my program crashed. I was lucky enough to have saved this file in both a JPEG and PNG format onto my desktop but now once I move the files back into Elements, I have no history and no layers?

This particular EPS file, however, causes the application to crash every time. I recently had similar trouble with Firefox and Flash and have since upgraded to 10.7. Crash report below:

I am working on a new iMac and a few weeks ago I started to try the Photoshop CC-Tryout-Version. Everything was ok, but today Photoshop stopped opening files and crashes. The Tryout-Version is still valid - the 4 weeks haven't passed yet.

I have a problem with my Photoshop CS 3. Everytime I try to open a file the program crashes producing the message "Photoshop.exe has detectetd a problem".
I'm runnig CS 3 on a Windows XP x64 OS. I have already installed the update to version 10.0.1.
All I could find out was, that it must have something to do with my EPSON printer driver for the EPSON Stylus Photo 2100. If I remove the driver from the system, CS 3 works without crashing.
OS : Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit
Corel draw x4 starts up fine, when you either pick a template, open an existing file, or click the new drawing button the mouse pointer becomes the circle and it says Processing at the bottom right corner of the screen, the status bar next to processing does not progress at all and it just stays like this until i close it. It says (not responding) in the top bar.
I have downloaded the updates from corel draw and have also un installed corel draw and re installed it and it is still the same.

"This file is already open for editing by another user. You will be unable to save any changes before that user closes the file."
Since I am the only one working on the project there are no other users and as far as I can tell no other files open. Any insight into what has triggered this message?
my laptop has been stolen and I had to buy a new PC...The new one is a windows 8, therfore, I had to install revit 2014....the problem is that I have been working on a graduate class project using revit 2012, and now revit 2014 will not open the files I built on revit 2012...I have only 10 days to rebuild what I have been working on for 3 months!!!...is there any way to open a revit 2012 on 2014 or at least convert it to work on 2014.
