My place of work recently changed from Autocad 2007 to Autocad 2013 (big jump.. i know), when we try to plot old drawings the .ctb files that were used in 2007 now says missing beside it. We also only have a few options in regards to .ctb files, whereas in older versions we had hundreds to choose from. Any function to get our old .ctb files back or where to download them?
View 1 RepliesCoworker is setting up a new Win7 (64bit) machine but we don't have the ability to upgrade CAD at this time. So running AutoCAD Mechanical 2007. (Yes we know they don't always play nice) Two other workstations here are running the same OS & CAD and print without issues. This new machine AutoCAD does not see any system printers. Have made sure the "Hide System Printers" is not checked under options. I can add a plotter file for each system printer and that workaround is OK, but why this one machine can't see the system printers. They are Xerox workstations on the network - not local. We have already restarted AutoCAD and restarted the PC.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen trying to follow the "Getting Started: Animated Battle Scene" tutorial. I am at the "Adding Materials to Objects In the Scene" section of the tutorial where I am being instructed to add the textures onto the objects, however when I open up the Compact Material Editor, all of the samples (Battlefield, Cannon, Windmill, ect) are nothing but grey spheres.
I was able to locate the image files stored in my Documents/3ds_Max_Tutorials_scene_files folder, however when I close out of 3DS Max, reopen the program, and reopen the scene, I am presented with the "Missing External Files" message box. Where should I store the image files so that 3DS Max is able to locate the image files?
We've finally nibbled the bullet and upgraded to 2014. I'm getting errors in the Task Scheduler logs about missing files in various projects. It would appear that (almost) without exception, the failed files are all Content Center parts that were inserted as custom parts. Do I need to run a migration on the Content Center parts (Inventor/ContentCenter Files/R2013/en-US) in order for the custom parts to migrate properly?

i wish to migrate all default icons of AutoCAD2007 to AutoCAD2014: i' ll wish to overwrrite default icons of 2014 with icons 2007
i know that i can do this with cui save every icon in a bmp file and sustitute every icon of 2014 with bmp file of 2007....
but i think it s so boring and long to do...
does it exist any faster mode?
P.S. i tried to export in a cui file all default toolbar of 2007: ii opened it in 2014... but icons are 2014 default!

I have a small office and 2 of the associates are using autocad lt 2014 1 is using 2013 and I am using 2007. Up until a few months ago we were all on 2007.
Now when I open drawings from the 2007 version, I cannot see some of the text. I have tried the following: Checking layers to make sure they are onChecking font to make sure they are availabemaking sure annonotation is visiblemaking sure proxy graphics are onMaking a block of just the drawing objects and opening that I am not that familiar with 2014, so I cannot figure out what is happening. Note - when i look at the drawing in the preview window, I can see the text. But when I open it, it is not there. If I save in 2014, the text no longer shows up in the preview.
I have drawings created in X5 taht i need to put into word documents, i have in the past done this many times with no issues, i now have a drawing that will paste in, but some objects are missing, and some text is missing.
I have tried all of the Paste special options, the only one that will put all objects in is bitmap, with all others objects are missing.
If i print as PDF all objects are there, if i Export the graphic for Office, using compatibility mode places all objects, but if i choose editable mode the same objects disappear
I recently upgraded from X2Pro to X4 ultimate and I'm missing some transition effects that I had in X2 but are not in X4.
I'm really disappointed that transition effects and other stuff from X2 content pack are not included in x4 ultimate, and I cant find any content pack for x4 on corel website, is there any?
Can I use transition effects from X2 in X4? I hate to have to use X2 after paying for X4 Ultimate just for transition effects
I'm using Cad and i'm trying to get a floorplan drawing into Lightscape 2007. The CAD drawing appears fine when loaded into Lightscape 2012, but because of the project we have to use Lightscape 2007. Unfortunately only parts of the floorplan appear when loaded into Lightscape 2007, I've played around with layers, I've saved it as the earliest version of CAD that I can and nothing works. How to load a CAD drawing into Lightscape 2007?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just completed my first topo using Civil3D 2013 (yay!) and now I want to send it to a client. However, when I save it as an ACAD 2007 file and go to open it using ACAD 2007 the spot elevations and all text and symbols associated with them disappear. I can't imagine that you have to have Civil3D to view a Civil3D file. Is there something I can do here?
I did not create a survey database with these points, just imported the .txt file from the field.
I've recently installed AutoCAD LT 2007 on a new computer running Windws 7 64 bit. I've been able to modify/customize everything except my .pgp files.
I've found them under C:/Program Files (x86)/AutoCAD LT 2007/User Data Cache/Support/acadlt. Once I've gone through and made my changes, and attempt to "X" out of the dialog box, I'm prompted to "Save" changes. I choose "Save" and am then told the "acadlt.pgp already exists. Would you like to replace it?". I select "Yes", and am then told "Access Denied"...with none of my changes being saved.
I've learned about an "unsanctioned" workaround...running a "run as XP" patch, but I'm having trouble finding out details/feasability of this solution. Additionally, I'm curious if I go this route, will all my programs now run as if on XP?
Is there a way to turn off the stupid "animated" zoom transition that happens during a zoom extents?

I try to do so by creating an axis transition and match the contents.
It just matched the whole clip with wrong in and out point.Then I try to swap something with the transition.It said two targets of the same type is required.
Does the Swap Effects work for transitions?
It is pretty simple and smooth in Smoke 2012.
Is there a way to have no view transition when changing views with the view cube? I'd prefer that it just switch to the desired view instantly with no transition.

I have Acad2013 installed on my computer. When I received a Acad Civil 3D dwg I could open it and see all (contour lines, etc.). Later I installed an object enabler Civil 3D (Civil3D_2013OE_64Bit.exe) cause Acad2013/Acad Civil 3D issues onto my computer and now when I open the same Civil dwg in Acad2013 I am missing the contour lines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was making some pieces in Inventor 2013, and a lot of them had similar bases, so I would just use the derive button when I started a new piece, and just make changes to the old piece. I later saved the files as .stl 's to print them in the 3D printer. when the computer hooked up to the 3D printer brought up the pieces, the parts I had derived from the original were missing.

More recently I have had the utility panel (that contains MEASUREGEOM) and the export panel pulled down in the work area for ease of access. The utility panel has disappeared completely, and sometimes I find the export panel hiding on the far right side of my screen with just a little bit of it sticking out. I right click on the the home tab and open "show panels" and I don't even see the utilities panel as an option to check or uncheck. I wonder if the utility panel is hiding beyond my screens view, but am unsure how to easily explore this possibility.

I am attempting to use the new Base View feature called Offset Section.
The 3D, solid, model has been created. I click on the Layout tab and there are only to panels showing: Layout and Layout Viewports. Four seem to have gone missing: Create View, Modify View, Update and Styles & Standards.
I have not made any changes to the CUI nor have I migrated settings from 2012.
I am using autocad 2013 on Mac and plotting to hp designjet 510. Lines are always missing when I print especially medium to thin lines or hidden lines or for example hatch tile lines. I use the plotter also on a pc and there are no problems at all. I changed the thickness of my lines in ctb and still have lines missing. I change percision to 1 and same thing. If I print draft, normal or best I still have problems. I know how to spool and use in built memory on pc but can not find something similar on the mac and dont know if that will work, as i printed same drawings from pc. It seems that when there are close lines together or dense lines in an area, it just skips them.

I loaded my 2012 profile and other than having to load the profile every time, I also do not have most of the ribbon tabs which I had upon the initial installation of 2013. After about 2 days I lost all od my map ribbon tabs, and at the same time my cui stopped loading automatically.
What is going on with this 2013 thing? It seems there may be a serious need for another hotfix or service pack.
I have 2013 inventor/mechinical a cad did not have enought memory on c: drive added another hard drive E: need to move my files to the e drive. single seat all on this computer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe recently updated all of our software at my company from 2010 architectural desktop to 2013 autocad. We do a lot of architectural work where we use the "wall" functions to draw our floorplans. I have noticed that the walls are disappearing on some files and not on others. Or we will only be able to see the outside line of the wall, but not the interior, which results in an undesirable appearance to the floorplans.
I have also run across these error messages when opening the files, I dont know if they are related or not:
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address E43AA180h"
and
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address D41218AEh"
In the process of migrating from 2010 to 2013, all seemed okay at first. Now when I open 2013 i have no ribbon and my keyboard is no responding to shortcuts. For example in 2010 is used the keyboard i key to insert blocks.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having a recurring issue with using hide situation. Steps are detailed below and an example file is attached.
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit SP1
Sketched all the geometry.Used hide situation to hide the portion of the fittings that reside within the clamps.Copied the clamps and fitting ends to each end of an elbow.Had an issue with item selection and used the audit command on the drawing. Following this the audit says there is a problem with the program and I should restart.
Restarted the program and any line that was effected by the hide situation is now missing.Attempted to open the backup file and the hide situation lines are also missing.
This has happened multiple times with different drawings, but the effect is always the same, all the hide situation data is now missing and I've lost a significant amount of work. The AM_3 layer created by hide situation is still there, but has no geometry.
i miss my "create view" etc. buttons in my layout ribbon. Where can i find an option to make them visible?

When I first time use AutoCAD 2013, my Properties toolbar can be displayed by right-clicking at the pull-down menu at click on the properties. But now I could not find the properties option anymore after right-clicking at the pull-down menu. get back my properties toolbar displayed in my AutoCAD 2013.
