I just finish the installation of Inventor 2013 SP 2 and I have some bugs... a lot of line is not visible in my .idw !
is on a derived part (mirror) ! the other point is the center gravity is not true in the derived part, seems have some problems on that version...
There are some lines that are not visible in my .IDW. I have had this before and am wondering why this is happening. Basically this is a vinyl gasket which is shown in my .iam file. In my .idw it is not showing although I have not turned off the visiblility of the part.

I want to changed the default visible line weight for all drawings. I just can't get it to work. I have changed my project file settings to "Read-Write", I have tried this in both the Default Standard and my own standard. I changed the "Visible (ANSI)" Line Weight, saved it, then hit "Save" on the Styles and Standards bar. It works for a document. But when I open a new document, the line weight has reverted back to the old value.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne of my draftsman is trying to put an identification Tag on one of our assembly.We made a symbol with our tag, and we put it on whatever where trying to identify directly on the presentation.
Our problem is that where not able to remove whatever is behind that symbol so that we can make that Tag readable.Is it possible to make only part of a line invisible in our presentation?
in a drawing I made some lines invisible (right-click on the line, and uncheck visibility). how can I make these lines visible again? for obvious reasons I can not right-click on them (they are not visible), and I don't find them in the browser tree.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe are just in the process of upgrading to Inventor 2013. While migrating our iParts, the origin work planes from the part part suddenly appear in some of the children. In the browser they show up under the iPart parent entry and will have names such as "YZ Plane_1". The visibility of all of the origin work features in the parent are turned off. In the children I can right click on these work planes but there is no option to turn off their visibility. And of course I can't even turn off general categories of object visibility in the children because that function is greyed out.
Is this behavior normal/new in IV 2013? Is there anyway I can turn off these origin planes in the iPart children?
I have a section line that is missing one of the teminator arrows and the label.
I have checked the styles, tried to edit the style but cannot make the terminator and label visible.

I was making some pieces in Inventor 2013, and a lot of them had similar bases, so I would just use the derive button when I started a new piece, and just make changes to the old piece. I later saved the files as .stl 's to print them in the 3D printer. when the computer hooked up to the 3D printer brought up the pieces, the parts I had derived from the original were missing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just started working with Acad 2012 on 3/26/12 and opened a drawing from 2009. When I started working on the drawing the attribute was visible. It remained visible until yesterday afternoon. When I use the block editor and open the block it shows the attributes.
My question is: How do I get the attribute to show up in my drawing again?
My company have recently upgraded from Inventor 2010 to Inventor 2013, on the whole I like it a lot better but there is one feature I can't find or Autodesk have removed. I have attached an image of what I mean if I haven't explained it very well but on the browser bar there used to be a drop down 'design view representation' that you could change back to 'master' quickly. I found this very useful as I often use the 'visible' tool to hide parts then want to unhide them all at once. Is there another way of doing what I want or does this tool exist hidden away somewhere else?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI jost installed Inventor 2013 Premium (PRODUCT DESIGN SUITE) here at the company and I have noticed that there is no "Stress Analysis" button in the Environments Tab. I already checked the "manage Add-Ins" button and there is no Stress Analysis module available in the list of Add-Ins.
Am I reading this wrong or this version may not have a Finite Element Analysis module?
It is strange because in the brochure there is a stress analysis module. Also, in the Environments tab there is an "Optimization" button. What is the purpose of having optimization without having Stress Analysis?
Just installed inventor 2013 and the icon to launch vault is missing from the ribbon where it used to be in v 2012. Also when i try to open a file the quick link to vault is not there. i have installed vault basic 2013 and it opens up fine and my files are in it. Do i have to create a link?

It would appear that (almost) without exception, the failed files are all Content Center parts that were inserted as custom parts. Do I need to run a migration on the Content Center parts (Inventor/ContentCenter Files/R2013/en-US) in order for the custom parts to migrate properly?

I have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.

I have tried to load a custom line type from Autocad 2013 to Inventor 2013, through Edit Laver-->Line type -->Other --> Load, but it doesn't appear in the drop-down list. I have read that previous Inventor releases coudn't work with autocad custom or complex line types. Is it still like that?

- Firstly, when i click a PL i can't see the midpoint of the line, and can't drag the line like i used to. I tried to change GRIPS, but can only choose between 0 and 1 when choosing grips. 0 being nothing visible, 1 being visible endpoints of the polylines. 2 is NOT valid options that i can choose.
- I can't add a new vertex. I think the way i used to do it was to hover over the midpoint and it would suggest if i wanted to add a new vertex. If this is the case, it's obvious that if i get problem 1 fixed, problem 2 will solve itself.
In solidworks there's a "hidden line" option that displays a 3d part with all its sketch lines (instead of a regular solid) which allows the user to view all the different sides of the part easily. So I was wondering if there's such an option in autodesk inventor 2013. Currently, to view all the different sides and aspects of a part easily, i have been changing the part's material to polycarbone or some other plastic material; this makes the part a little translucent. But this is less effective than the hidden line vew availble in solidworks. method that makes different parts of a 3d part more easily to be viewed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI´m using Inventor Professional 2013 64-bit build 138.No matter what I get 1 pixel wide lines on screen and on printer.
I can control line colour and line type (as in solid, dashed, dotted etc) from Manage - Styles editor - Layers.
When I make changes to the "Visible" layer:
- the line colour changes come through both to screen and printer
- the line type only comes through to the screen, but not to the printer
- the line weight is ignored both by screen and printer
Tools - Application Options - Drawing - Display line weights
seems to have no effect at all.how to get drawing line weights to come through to the printer
I've been running AutoCAD 2006 since it came out and have been running it on Windows 7 since it came out. I've never had any problem runnning my LT version. Today, all of a sudden I cannot type text in the multi-tex box. The cursor moves in the box but nothing is shown. I click okay but cannot select anything. It's like the cursor is moving but not laying down text. I've changed the different fonts, colors and even changed my background from Black to While and still cannot see any text.
My single line text tool continues to work just not the multi-line text box.
I also tried restarting my computer and tried opening existing files. The multi-line box problem occurs on other files to.
I have some Line Labels that got exploded, and they contained Background Masks.
When I make a plot, the mask plots a dark rectangle.
How can I make the masks visible so that they can be erased? Is there a variable for that? What type of entity (name?)are they?
When I make "wipeouts" visible, you still can not see the masks.

I have encountered this issue in a pdf file that I generated using my R (statisitcal language) scripts. The file contains 3 smoothed but wiggly lines where parts of a few lines vanish when I open the pdf file in illustrator. Opening the same pdf in any pdf viewers turns out perfectly however. I need to further edit the pdf file for publication purposes, so having parts of the plot missing makes this a headache. I've done other plots before with R, which can be edited in illustrator perfectly.

Our engineering department users are facing this problem that the hatch patterns are not visible. Everytime they have to use the FILL command when they open any drawing. They are facing this problem with some dwgs, when anybody else opens the same drawing this happens again. After that they are unable to see the hatch patterns in any drawing. After using FILL it becomes visible but restrting the AutoCAD reverts the setting back so they unable to see the hatch pattern again. After opening that dwg in all files they are unable to hatch.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Publish Services panel is enabled and visible, but it is empty. All Publish Services are invisible. However, it seems they are still there, because from a photo I can "Goto Collection" and select the Published Collection that it's in. In grid view, this takes me to the screen where it shows me Published Photos, Modified Photos, etc. But I cannot create new Published Collections.
I am using Lightroom 5.2 64-bit on Windows 7. This problem only arose recently without any known trigger. I've had this problem before but it went away on it's own after I published from a different catalog.
