when i start with the dynamic simulation i found out that there isnt any option of revolute or prismatic or anyother standard joints.. just hv spacial joints under that session... have did almost all the updates and no use.. still remains the same...

But now I could not find the properties option anymore after right-clicking at the pull-down menu. get back my properties toolbar displayed in my AutoCAD 2013.

Once you create a multi body, or a multi body feature, and then try to go back and edit it you can no longer select difference bodies.
A little more digging and it almost seems like the problem is that you can not use "ctrl" to multi select bodies.

I have a project where I have got a drawing from an architect which is drawn as a mesh.
I consists of triangular panels which is joined together with different angles. (see attachment)
I have tried to model it in 3d with autocad, but I can`t get the joints to be precise.
I am going to produce this panels with our cnc-router in a 12 mm mdf board.
The panels has to be mitered in the joints.
I have the following questions:
Is it possible in autocad, to model this figure and separate each panel, with the correct angles on the edges?
Is there any good tutorial on joints and constrains.
How to use joints. (Joins still confuse me.)
When you should use which.

I cannot find the Standard Scale list anywhere in my 2010 version of AutoCAD. Only the Annotative Scale list is visible and usable. Note: it's not that certain scale values are missing, it's that the entire Standard Scale function is no where to be found!
I need to be able to change the scale of a viewport, but the Standard Scale list is not included as an option in the Properties Dialog box, nor is it in any of the other suggested places where it should be. I've used the Standard Scale list many times before in previous versions of CAD and from everything I can tell 2010 should have it.
I am preparing a weld map for our welding shop, and they would like me to balloon each joint and create a table with each joint's number, so that the welder/pressure tester can sign off. Is there a way to balloon joints and not parts, or make a custom ballooning scheme?

The attached screen shot is the only way I have found to do it in Inventor, but it is a cheat. One of the flanges is a 85˚ bend because if it were 90˚ it would give an error "Flange Body intersects with existing body or self intersects."
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was making some pieces in Inventor 2013, and a lot of them had similar bases, so I would just use the derive button when I started a new piece, and just make changes to the old piece. I later saved the files as .stl 's to print them in the 3D printer. when the computer hooked up to the 3D printer brought up the pieces, the parts I had derived from the original were missing.

is on a derived part (mirror) ! the other point is the center gravity is not true in the derived part, seems have some problems on that version...
While working with an Inventor 2013 *.idw some of the dimension lines, extension lines, and learders became invisible, even though you can still see the dimension values and even the arrow heads of the no-show dimensions. Even when printed, the same lines are not there. 2013 Glitch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy company have recently upgraded from Inventor 2010 to Inventor 2013, on the whole I like it a lot better but there is one feature I can't find or Autodesk have removed. I have attached an image of what I mean if I haven't explained it very well but on the browser bar there used to be a drop down 'design view representation' that you could change back to 'master' quickly. I found this very useful as I often use the 'visible' tool to hide parts then want to unhide them all at once. Is there another way of doing what I want or does this tool exist hidden away somewhere else?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI jost installed Inventor 2013 Premium (PRODUCT DESIGN SUITE) here at the company and I have noticed that there is no "Stress Analysis" button in the Environments Tab. I already checked the "manage Add-Ins" button and there is no Stress Analysis module available in the list of Add-Ins.
Am I reading this wrong or this version may not have a Finite Element Analysis module?
It is strange because in the brochure there is a stress analysis module. Also, in the Environments tab there is an "Optimization" button. What is the purpose of having optimization without having Stress Analysis?
Just installed inventor 2013 and the icon to launch vault is missing from the ribbon where it used to be in v 2012. Also when i try to open a file the quick link to vault is not there. i have installed vault basic 2013 and it opens up fine and my files are in it. Do i have to create a link?

It would appear that (almost) without exception, the failed files are all Content Center parts that were inserted as custom parts. Do I need to run a migration on the Content Center parts (Inventor/ContentCenter Files/R2013/en-US) in order for the custom parts to migrate properly?

I have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.

I've been teaching myself inventor over the past couple of months so I can design the rear suspension setup for my car.
I've got the IRS modelled with enough detail to show my engineer the concept, but I want the suspension to "work", ie each link will move as the suspension flexes.
I'm attaching the arms (blue, dark green, red and yellow) to the cradle (orange) using the joint command, and selecting "rotational". This works fine and the arms can swivel about a single axis as they should. But as soon as I attach the knuckle (lime green) to the other end of all the arms using the same type of joint (except the joint with the blue lower control arm, which is a ball joint), nothing will move.
I understand that in real life, each joint has a bit of "slop" in it, allowed by rubber bushings, which prevents the whole setup from binding.
To my uneducated mind, the solution would lie in one of 3 methods: Convert all the joints to ball joints (I'd like to avoid this if possible) Add some kind of flexible rubber bushing to all of the joints (probably not possible) Get rid of the rotational joint constraints altogether and somehow mate all the parts to each other using work points, rather than a cylindrical bolt and eyelet, so that each arm has full range of movement in both the X and Y axes.
I would like to make some sort of an "online" catalog where the engineers could review details, and just tell the draftsmen the details they would like to include in their design set. I'd be very interested in any system that you might use. We, at one time, used printed booklets for the engineers, but got to be a hassle when details changed. Is there a good software system that might make this an easy task?

There are different results when executing polar array using the 'classic' method and the array using ACAD's standard array. I tend to revert back to the classic array as I find this more user friendly and tend to use this one over the standard ACAD array. Which methods are preferred by other CAD users ? I was wondering if any other CAD users prefer any other 'classic' functions over the standard ones. I sometimes use 'classiclayer' as well because of a display issue, not sure if this is a common bug that other users have found too ?
View 8 Replies View Relatedim trying to do is print on standard 8.5" X 11" paper but for some reason it keeps cutting off the top and the bottom. ive tried changing the plotter settings around but to no avail. its like theres a certain amount that it refuses to pring on the bottom. no matter what, the is always a .5" gap at the bottom. i can get it to print to the very edge of the top. just having issues with the bottom. ive also tried using plot calibration and all of that is fine

In the process it has deleted all of the predifined hatch patterns and the custom one did not work either. So now I have ZERO hatch patterns.
How do I get the predefined hatches back?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have just recently install Building Design Suite Standard 2014 and the tool palettes DO NOT work.
Clicking on the standard palettes that load with ACAD will not even work. We have also tried to make new ones and the will not MAKE (for lack of words).
Here is the Autocad warning it gives us:
Unable to execute the tool. Possible causes are:
-The tool is not registered properly. Please check your installation.
-the tool is from another application and is incompatible with the current application.
We are running a new copy and it IS registered.
Is it possible that i add extra standard to inventor? for example API 5L or else?
