AutoCad 3D :: Material Looks Brighter When Rendered?
Mar 29, 2013
When walking through my model a brick wall looks like the left image below. When I produce a rendered image the wall appears much brighter as you can see. Cause I've never fumbled around with lighting settings. The darker version is pretty much the one I'm after.
how do i make the grid more visible? To explain... if i work in an office with a high degree of ambient light, i find it difficult to see the grid lines! So how do i make them more visible?
why is my raw image became brighter on LR4..? it was perfect on the camera lcd but after the importing the raw file to LR4 the image became overexpose.
I can delete every unused material except one in the Material Editor.I am trying to make the custom Material library and somehowI have got the Material I cannot delete. URL....
I am in the samill building buisness. While designing I thought it would be nice to show logs on our equipment. Is there anyway to show bark on drawings to show the texture on the final drawing?
I just upgraded to CS from 7.0 and in CS whenever I am editing an image the image appears sigificantly brighter than in any other program or when viewed on the net. ImageReady shows the images properly but CS has every image brightened while I am working with it.
When i import them back into Lightroom 4 they look darker (as they originally were in LR before export). I calibrate my monitor with Spyder 4 pro each month and i have had no problems printing on my Epson r2000 either and have always had accurate prints.
I maybe imaginging things, but it only seems to be with certain photos (most noticably high ISO astrophotography images). I went through old astro shots this week from over a year ago and thats when i noticed the problem. The expoted files are massively brighter than in Lightroom I am at a loss as to what to do. The display profile on my mac is set to the latest monitor calibration. I havent changed anything in LR but i did get rif of a load of crap on my computer this week as it was becoming slow after updating to OS 9 (mackeeper, dropboxes but nothing i could imagine would relate to LR).
It seems like all of a sudden my marching ants are dim to nearly invisible as I'm making a selection. I haven't updated my software. They show up in some graphics better than others, and once I've made the selection, they show up white again. Example: I'll be using the rectangular marquee tool.
This happened at the same time that my custom blending options all reverted to the defaults. However, I hadn't made any custom marching ants settings. I don't know why my custon blending options reverted to the defaults, but it's possible that this was triggered by a hard shutdown that I had to do after my trackpad froze.
Computer: Mac OSX 10.6.8 Software: CS5 extended 12.0.1
I'm cloning some stray hairs out on model shot on grey background. Only problem is things are looking lighter where I clone. Even I just test the background sampling other background right nearby, the new background is lighter.
I upgraded to 3DsMax 2011 and still have some problems navigating the Slate Material Editor. I want to create a Mix material as the "first" material but I'm only able to double click on the Sample Slot to get a standard material in the "View1" as my "first" material. I am able to create a "Mix" node here, but it has to be connected to the "Standard" material and this makes it so that i can not drag the material in to the "Environment and Effects" tab as my "Environment Map".
When i go back to the "Compact Material Editor" (which waists time), I can select the Standard icon but "Maps" is not available in the "Material/Map Browser" when i right click on an open space.
Im on Max 2011 with sp1 and the latest hotfix installed, working with vray 1.5 sp5. When i try to re-set mu material editor (compact not slate) i get the folllowing error message
"Runtime error: cannot assign undefined to material editor slots" and a Macro_media utilities window opens with the following script
macroScript clear_medit_slots enabledIn:#("MAX", "VIZ") category:"Medit Tools" internalCategory:"Medit Tools" ButtonText:"Reset Material Editor Slots" tooltip:"Reset Material Editor Slots" [code]....
I'm not a scripter but it seems that there is no material defined to place into the slots on re-set. I've recently had a problem with my material editor not giving me acess to slate as i had loaded up my 2010 menus into 2011 but i've since re-installed max and vray and am still getting this.
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.
I have two viewports in a layout showing 3d objects where I would like to see rendered quality when I print my dwg. How do I get this to work right? As of now the print output is not that great of quality. Shade plot is set to 'rendered' and presentation quality for both viewports.
No matter what I change the viewport or model space background color to my rendered image comes up with a black background. How do I change it to white so I'm not using all the toner on the printer?
Using Inventor 2014 for some very simple (just a few component) models. When I use Studio to render an image, two objects are shown with a "cross" on them. The parts are nothing but extruded circles--nothing to them, so it's not clear to me why there are lines on their surface.
I have a surface and a pipe network. I am trying to print out a picture of these two objects rendered for the engineer to see. I have the surface as a rendered surface, but the pipe network is displaying under the surface (so it is invisible) and I was wondering if there was a way to have the pipe network display "thru" the surface so the engineer can see the pipe network with all the pipes drawn underneath the surface. Is this possible?
I created a model, assigned materials, and it renders fine if I leave the facetres at the default of .5. My model has curves though, so I need to increase the facetres to at least 3 or 4. If I set facetres to anything, even 1, the next time I render, I get the message that the scene cannot be rendered because it does not contain any faces. My machine is a Xeon, 12gb ram, with quadro fx580, autocad 2013 x64. But this happened to me on earlier versions, and on my previous workstation as well.
I have a bit of problem that've been cracking my head. I create a wires, segments using cable harness environments in Inventor. After I created those, I want to see rendered image, but only centerlines appears. I have already change the harness settings into real image(rendered) but still centerlines appears.
Weird thing is that I create other assembly, it all works perfectly. But I cannot recreate my design, it is already so much work.
The command RenderFromFile will render the 3D drawing file at C:TempRender.dwg (see this file from attachment), and then write the output image to Render.png at the same folder. The rendered image is on the top view and has visual materials.
The command RenderCurrentView will render the current open 3D drawing, then write the output image to C:TempRender.png. The rendered image is on 3D view and does not have visual materials.
Both two commands call the same shared method RenderToFile(), but their output images are different. I don't know why they are different?
Method RenderToFile is a simplified version from Kean's code. I try to make the code short and simple to easily solve the problem.
I am having a problem with a view being shown rendered.
I have a tall piece of material handling equipment that is drawn to scale and is approximately 30' tall. When I render the view and take a shot of it, it looks angled based on the camera angle, when in reality it should appear straight (see attached picture).
I am aiming to plot and print a 3d model when it has been rendered.
I am able to save the rendered image when it is produced in its pop up box, but then when I try to import the image so that it can be plotted and printed it says that autocad doesn't support the file.
I'm having a little challenge making my rendered models clear and sharp. I've tried adjusting the brightness and contrast from the exposure option, I've also tired adjusting the position of the sun via time setting but my models always look blurry and dull. I attached some of the rendered works.
I have a user who is experiencing a blank or improperly rendered layer dialog box from time to time (see image attached).
I've seen this with another user at a different office as well. I assume its a video driver issue but as I'm strictly a CAD manager and not IT support, messing around with that is outside my responsibilities.
A restart usually fixes the issue but I figured I try to at least find out of its a known issue with a known cause (and a known fix).
I am having some difficulties when printing via dwg to pdf a rendered shade plot viewport in a layout. However, there is no problem using realistic shade plot. I am using the following materials: Metal | Alumininum (Anodized Blue, Anodized Blue-Gray), Plastic and Glass and the result is not good as all. I am also looking on a tutorial on strategic place to place light for even more realistic rendering.

I've been having shadows of a huge grid projected on the surface of my project. Apparently, they come from the sky of my drawing (and I didn't draw anything like that). A few hours ago, I was playing with some sun and lightning settings (I think), and those shadows stopped appearing.
After I create a wire it will not be displayed as a rendered wire. There is no indication of error in the wire (to sharp angle) and this is also happens for a straight wires with no turns.
I have made multiple revisions of an assembly and in older reviosions I can make the wires and they are shown as rendered. But in the latest revision it is not possible. In a older revision I had a harness assembly than deleted it could this have any affect?
Also is there any setting that hides rendered wires that I might have turned on accidently?I have a student licence and the assembly has about 700 parts if that makes any difference.
