how do i make the grid more visible? To explain... if i work in an office with a high degree of ambient light, i find it difficult to see the grid lines! So how do i make them more visible?
It seems like all of a sudden my marching ants are dim to nearly invisible as I'm making a selection. I haven't updated my software. They show up in some graphics better than others, and once I've made the selection, they show up white again. Example: I'll be using the rectangular marquee tool.
This happened at the same time that my custom blending options all reverted to the defaults. However, I hadn't made any custom marching ants settings. I don't know why my custon blending options reverted to the defaults, but it's possible that this was triggered by a hard shutdown that I had to do after my trackpad froze.

When using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.
After closing and reopening my command prompt, I find that it is now at the bottom left of the screen and no longer part of the main graphics window. How can I get it to display at the bottom of the main display?
I run PSE 12 on my Mac with OS 10.9. I am able to display a grid by clicking view, then selecting grid from the dropdown. However, the rule of thirds, golden ratio, none and grid buttons at the bottom of the display have no effect. I am unable to select thirds or golden ratio. Any thoughts on how I can activate these buttons, especially the the rule of thirds?
I would like to have the date taken readily visible when i scroll through my library. At one point I could see a timeline on the side that was very useful. I would like that again or have the date visible on each thumbnail at all times. How do i set this?
I am finding the layer combo control in 2010 an annoyance. The drop down box does not access as many layers as did the version in 2009, and I find myself continually searching through the drop down box to reference a particular layer. How to rectify to have it similar to 2009?
I have been issued the task of putting map grids on building plans. I have a number of building plans that I must put a square grid over, with 2 meter between grid lines according to plan scale.
When walking through my model a brick wall looks like the left image below. When I produce a rendered image the wall appears much brighter as you can see. Cause I've never fumbled around with lighting settings. The darker version is pretty much the one I'm after.

I have Lightroom 4.4. and Windows 7--both of which have been working fine for several months. Starting a few days ago, however, thumbnails have refused to load for any NEW photos I import. They appear gray/blank in both Grid view and the film strip. However, if you click on any of the film strip thumbnails (while in either Grid view or Develop mode), that thumbnail and corresponding image WILL load--until up to three have done so. Then they begin disappearing again, allowing you to view no more than three images' thumbnails at any one time.
I can't review a shoot via Grid mode this way. I'm also afraid to use Lightroom while it's misbehaving, for fear of corrupting the catalog somehow (though all the images appear to be there). Searching this forum, I found several people who experienced having all of their thumbnails blank out and who were able to correct this by either reinstalling or removing their color profiling software. However, 1) I did this (and it didn't work), and 2) it isn't that all my thumbnails that have disappeared. All the thumbnails and images imported prior to the bug, still initially display correctly.* And I can get three thumbnails of the newer images to appear at a time.
*The asterisk is because after I poked around some more, I realized that if I opened other folders and began post-processing images from older uploads (vs. just viewing them), the thumbnails that initially displayed correctly everywhere also blank out and begin appearing in this up-to-three-at-a-time fashion.
I have recently configured various borders for our Inventor software and have now turned to AutoCAD to do the same.
Within Inventor you can specify grid references around the border. eg A-F along the top and 1-5 on the vertical. Can this be done with AutoCAD 2011????
I received a drawing that has a layout with multiple mviews in it. There is a light grey grid showing in the layout, that I can't make disappear. Grid on / off command has no effect. Really it doesn't matter if the grid is showing, but it's so annoying! Creating a new layout would fix the problem, but is there an easier way to get rid of the grid?
I would like to have my autocad start with my osnap settings, grid off, ortho on, etc. I am not a fan of the grid, and I have to turn it off everytime I start a drawing. Is there a way to create this as a normal setup?
I recently installed AutoCAD 2012 and have noticed that my crosshairs are moving as if a grid is turned on. I checked my settings and have turned everything off however, the crosshairs continues to move in "jerk-like" movements.
I have a slightly unusual query that I can't seem to find a solution for elsewhere. I have an existing OS plan that is 'off grid', and would like to adjust the vertices at the ends of all the existing lines and polylines so that they all sit on a grid point. Is there a quick command or script that does this?
I set a snap for ease of use, e.g. if my intended output scale is 1:50 I will set my snap to 25, this makes drawing lines fast and simple.
When I used the break command in previous versions (I skipped 2011) the break would keep the snap on so I could break either side of a line with a perfect unit gap.
In 2012 when I select the first point it disregards the snap and just puts the break wherever I select on the line meaning the gap is not neat. Is there anyway to put this back the way it was?
why is my raw image became brighter on LR4..? it was perfect on the camera lcd but after the importing the raw file to LR4 the image became overexpose.
Is there an easier way to make a 16 squares X 16 squares grid so that the grid scales with the image size but remains 16X16? Basically I want to add a 16X16 grid to hundreds of images.
Also, how do I put the same grid over many images, like a few hundred?
I'm trying to import a pdf underlay in AutoCAD 2012. However, every time I have imported it, the frame of the underlay shows up, but the pdf itself doesn't show up.
Contrast = 100 Fade = 0 Monochrome = No Show underlay = Yes Path is correct
I've tried importing image underlays (PNG files), and they work fine. Also, the pdf file is pretty big (about 100 MB), so I didn't know if that affected its ability to display. How to get this to show up?
