I run PSE 12 on my Mac with OS 10.9. I am able to display a grid by clicking view, then selecting grid from the dropdown. However, the rule of thirds, golden ratio, none and grid buttons at the bottom of the display have no effect. I am unable to select thirds or golden ratio. Any thoughts on how I can activate these buttons, especially the the rule of thirds?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 4.4. and Windows 7--both of which have been working fine for several months. Starting a few days ago, however, thumbnails have refused to load for any NEW photos I import. They appear gray/blank in both Grid view and the film strip. However, if you click on any of the film strip thumbnails (while in either Grid view or Develop mode), that thumbnail and corresponding image WILL load--until up to three have done so. Then they begin disappearing again, allowing you to view no more than three images' thumbnails at any one time.
I can't review a shoot via Grid mode this way. I'm also afraid to use Lightroom while it's misbehaving, for fear of corrupting the catalog somehow (though all the images appear to be there). Searching this forum, I found several people who experienced having all of their thumbnails blank out and who were able to correct this by either reinstalling or removing their color profiling software. However, 1) I did this (and it didn't work), and 2) it isn't that all my thumbnails that have disappeared. All the thumbnails and images imported prior to the bug, still initially display correctly.* And I can get three thumbnails of the newer images to appear at a time.
*The asterisk is because after I poked around some more, I realized that if I opened other folders and began post-processing images from older uploads (vs. just viewing them), the thumbnails that initially displayed correctly everywhere also blank out and begin appearing in this up-to-three-at-a-time fashion.
When I open an image in elements 12 I get a grid overlay= how do I get rid of it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSnap to grid absolutely will not disable in PSE 9!! I tried previous posters' instructions to make the grid veiwable, then uncheck "snap to grid," and it unchecks, but still snaps!! Amazing. how on earth to actually get it to turn off? Holding down the CNTRL key does at least temporarily disable the feature, but I really hate to have to do that every time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan't see several thumbnails in photoshop elements organizer grid but when I open a non-viewable thumnail in the editor I can see it in the grid.
After opening the image in the editor it appears in the Organizer grid.
If I want to drag over several pictures from the grid to an album or choose for them printing, as soon as I highlight more than one the file name stops showing in the information box. Therefore I can't figure out which pictures to highlight (after I have spent a long time analyzing each one individually). Some of my shots are so similar that I need the file name to choose the correct ones for the batch I want. Is there a way to see the filenames in the grid?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn PSE12 how does one display the icons under the event tab in a categorized tree structure?
In my PSE10 catalog, I have a highly structured event tag tree for 30,000 pictures and videos covering 15 years. This tree has annual main categories and then numerous events in 2nd level subcategories under each year. Below that are tags for which camera/person took the picture as well as other tags for videos, panorama-segments etc. Altogether there are probably several hundred or more subcategories. After importing the catalog into PSE 12 all of these subcategories show up in the top level display causing massive duplication that scrolls for 12 or more screens.
The PSE12 event tab is useless if it can only display every subcategory all at once in a flattened format. I also do not see any way to move these subcategories out of the events tag area and into the keyword tag area to eliminate clutter.
It's easy enough to get the time date displayed beneath each thumbnail in PSE 11. Can I possible to get it to display the file name in that location instead. I know that I can see the file name in the properties tags but when naming new pictures it would be easier to see what pictures still need correct name the other way,under each thumbnail.

I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.
Revit has a propensity to locate a lay-in ceiling grid with a grid intersection in the center of the room. You can use the alignment tool to align the grid with a wall. But I see no way to center a tile in a room. This is often a necessity in a narrow room, to keep the lights centered. Also, installers, when not given specific instructions to the contrary, will often locate the ceiling grid to minimize narrow tiles at the wall. We need more control over the position of the grid.

I find it so frustrating when I spend time editing a photograph in PSE 9 only to find when when I'm done, the finished product looks completely different everywhere else on my computer and online. The Photoshop display is too light and washes out the photos, giving an inaccurate image. Is there any way to set the display to be more accurate?
