I have created a scaled floor plan dwng using the grid in PSE 10. It would be very useful to me to be able to print the grid directly with my drawing - preferably as a semi-opaque 'background'.
View 5 RepliesI have an interior laid out on a scaled grid, and I want to print a copy that displays the grid (ie: visible on the printed page). But everything (& I mean everything) indicates that grids per definition NEVER print.
I also thought that I could create my own grid on a separate layer, but if that's an option, I can't find that either...
When i pick points from the drawing using the ID command i recieve a long and meaningless coordinate which is useless to me when setting out. How i can rotate my drawing so that firstly its aligned with my grid and secondly give it the same coordinates as my site based local coordinated grid?

So, I want to use a grid that I can fill in the individual sections of to create this image, and then remove the grid afterwards when I finish, or at least make it completely invisible.
Is there anyway to accomplish that?
I am looking to create a collage made from 100 photos (all taken high res) to be printed large, approx 120cm x 50cm. To be able to print this size I need to keep the high resolution and hence looking for a large file output.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are developing a simulation of bugs living on an island. Now we need to know if the bugs are on the island or not.
We have an image of an island (see attachment) and we want to create a grid array. We want to create an array (or at least want to know) in which grid fields the color red is.
The image in the attachment is very small, in real it's much bigger. So we have a grid of 5 px size.
Is there an easier way to create gridlines as a design element? I know you can set/adjust the grid in the preferences, but I would like to be able to have the gridlines as something editable (changing colors/scale, etc.) and as an element in the piece (as opposed to just a guide overlay that's not integrated).
Up til now I've been doing this the hard way, using guides and the line tool to create/copy/move each line, etc. building it piece by piece...while this works,
I remember being able to select 'Print Grid' back when I used AutoCAD 2000, but never needed to print the grid lines until about a year ago. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT cannot do this. It seems only AutoCAD Civil 3D users have this option. Basically I need to print the drawing with a grid on paper and/or a mobile device so a field technician can draw conditions to scale easily and accurately. I realize this must not be in high demand, but there are a number of users who have asked about this. They are told that it is only a 'drawing aid' and they should array their construction lines to print their own grid. This is not a good solution for repetition of printing scaled field drawings, and certainly not 'state of the art' technology. Is this feature removed so we will have to search out the higher priced product? It seems like 'Print Grid' could be easily returned to all AutoCAD. Probably just a system variable that was removed when we weren't looking.

Is there a way to set a description for all the points, so I don't have to do this manually?
I have created something in Photoshop and saved it as a jpeg but when I open it up as a jpeg and try to print, it comes out pixelated. It has text and brushes in it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Mechanical 2011 and like the Grid On when I work, personal preference I guess. I have the system variable GRIDMODE set to 1 and the template drawing that opens when AutoCAD starts saved with the grid lines on.
I know the grid state is saved in the drawing but is there a way to have the grid always on regardless of the drawing, many drawings I work with are from outside of my organization.
Now i am working on setting up the grid system for drawings . My task is after setting the grid label the possition of equipments od Data Center( e.g ups, panels) on drawing. View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create stakeout on grid in drawing wherein I wish to give details of X,Y coordinates along with Z (which will be volume comparison surface). I wish to display this information at every 5m interval on drawing. This can be useful for contractor for stakeout on site.
I tried using command thru "Points - Create Points, Suafec - On Grid" I did everything as directed on screen. However no information is getting displayed on screen. I am bit confused. I have made sure no layers are frozen and point style is also correct (i.e. it is not none). Still I don't see any information on screen.
How to use the perspective tool and i understand that i can draw a grid onto this but the grid always seems to be out of whack when i do and the line spacing isn't at all perfect. What i want to be able to do is draw a grid with equal spacing and have the ability to warp this so it looks all bent up going off into the distance.
I can see this is going to be something that i have to draw in manually but i'm kind of hoping that i can have the bulk of the job done for me.
However, if i do have to draw it manually, how would i go about spacing the lines equally along a wafty curved line???
I am using Xara Extreme 4, and am trying to produce an isometric drawing as I have previously done in CAD software. I have found that the lines drawn do not exactly "snap" to the grid points and some inaccuracy is evident if the drawing is magnified.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Illustrator CS5 I am drawing a 5 drawer cart in the 2D Perspective grid. After drawing one drawer with connected sides, back and bottom I want to be able to copy and move this drawer 4 times into the correct positions in the cart. I do not want to redraw the drawer 4 times. I know I must use the Perspective Selection Tool to do this. However, I cannot get it to move the entire copied drawer into the next position. I have tried using PathFinder to unite the parts of the drawer and the Compound Path command but to no avail. How can I accomplish this task?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI run PSE 12 on my Mac with OS 10.9. I am able to display a grid by clicking view, then selecting grid from the dropdown. However, the rule of thirds, golden ratio, none and grid buttons at the bottom of the display have no effect. I am unable to select thirds or golden ratio. Any thoughts on how I can activate these buttons, especially the the rule of thirds?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my grid set to 10px (with subdivisions set to 1). Snap to Grid is enabled. I had "Align New Objects To Pixel Grid" checked when I created the document.
When I draw an object, it will snap to the 10px grid as I am drawing it. However, when I go to move the object around, it will not snap to the grid at all. In Photoshop and Fireworks, this was a piece of cake, but in Illustrator I've never been able to get this to work, nor find a solution for it. The only way I can kind of get it to work is to set my grid to 1px, but I really don't want to be zooming in that far constantly when moving things around.
For what it's worth, this is happening in Illustrator CC, but I've had this same issue with older versions as well.
When I open an image in elements 12 I get a grid overlay= how do I get rid of it?

I tried previous posters' instructions to make the grid veiwable, then uncheck "snap to grid," and it unchecks, but still snaps!! Amazing. how on earth to actually get it to turn off? Holding down the CNTRL key does at least temporarily disable the feature, but I really hate to have to do that every time.

If we want to make the paper space and model space same (draw in same scale, if we use 1/100 scale in metric system, 1 meter in model space is equal to 1 centimeter in paper space), is it a wise idea to set the model space into A4 or A3 paper size by use of LIMITS?
I think its utmost usage is in combination with "snap". Where you can quickly grab the points you want onscreen without need for coordinate input. Would be happy if there is other usage for GRID
Before, I thought limits will specify the area in model space where I can draw (limit the area of model space). But this is in contrary with the fact that model space is limitless and I can draw as far as I want.
It is really hard to understand that there is no limit for model space like real world.
I haven't understood these issues until I read many threads in CT. Now I have got most of them but I think I need some extra study to understand them 100%.
