Photoshop :: Creating Large Eps Files For Printing

Jan 3, 2013

I am in the process of creating a large( 10 feet by 3 feet) sign for a hockey arena. I am having trouble saving it as an eps file, which is what the printer has requested,  without distorting or completely changing the effects?  I am using photoshop cs5 on Mac os 10.6.8.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Exporting Files As High Quality JPG For Large Scale Printing?

Apr 17, 2012

exporting my CorelDrawX6 files as a high quality jpg for large scale printing purposes.  In X4 it was very easy - just export as usual to the highest quality cmyk jpg and open in Photo Paint... now when I export this way it takes forever to bring up the preview page and most of the time it ends up being blank.  Sometimes even crashes.  I have played with all options in the filter dialog menu that I can find but nothing works.  Thought it might be a file size problem but never had that problem in X4 and anything under 200dpi will not be high enough quality.

Photoshop :: Printing Large Portraits

Jul 16, 2003

If you had to work on a portrait (ie, change a background) and print it at 16x20, what size and resolution would you work on it at?

A 16x20 picture in photoshop @ 300 or even 200 dpi would be quite large, even without layers. I'm just trying to get a good idea of what I should be scanning at, I usually work on images at around 8x10 & 300 dpi.

Photoshop :: Printing Large Document

Aug 10, 2008

I need to design a large logo for a billboard ad. The dimensions are about 14'x6' I spoke with the printing company and they weren't all that helpful about DPI & such. The most info I could get was that they print at 150 DPI, and if I wanted to make my image smaller they will scale it up.

it's a very elaborate pixel based graphic that I don't want to be distorted when blown up. So, I've been trying to design at the literal dimensions of the sign, and 150 pixels/inch (in CS3). Problem is that I'm getting all kinds of scratch disk errors (even with 250gb free) and excessively long wait times between modifications to the document.

Is there any smaller size I can put this document to or anything I'm missing? I realize that I should be using a vector design, but the person I'm doing it for is very set on an elaborate pixel design with tons of detail.

Photoshop :: Printing Large Format Setup

May 29, 2013

I have this photo here as an example and its specs are:

2200 x 2134 px 300 dpi
cm 17.8 cm 18 cm

if I was asked to do a large banner for example 10 meters x 10 meters(i'm converting 10 meters to pixels and I get :37795.275590551) to go on a building wall.the fact that the photo is 300dpi would that be efficient enough to get a good result without pixelation? or do the pixels within the image need to be even more to secure a better print? if the pixels were double the amount would that be more efficient for example 6000 pixels x 6000 pixels does that secure crystal clear print? I read in various forums that the distance would also play a large role,in order to set the resolution value.

Photoshop :: Set Up And Save For Large Format Printing

Apr 8, 2013

Not sure how to search for this. I will ask my question. Using PS CS6 need to create at photoshop image to print on a large banner 10' x 12' How should I go about setting up the file...should I create to actual size? should I set up for 72 or 300 DPI? Should I create at a smaller size in order to NOT take up so much hard drive space and then allow printer to enlarge.. and if so how do we NOT get the pixelation when going from small to extremely large? Is there a file that can be save as (PDF.. TIFF) that you can enlarge indefinitely like a EPS?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Printing Too Large?

May 7, 2011

I'm using Corel X3 graphics.  Windows Vista.  HP officejet pro 8500a premium printer.  I'm trying to print a file I used to print all the time.  It's a map with bitmaps.  I must have accidently changed some settings in CDX3 because now it prints too large--it won't even fit on the page.   I've tried changing every print setting that relates...Fit to Page, etc.  I also restarted corel while holding down the F8 key to reset the factory defaults.  I've re-installed Corel 3 times!  I'm at my wits end.

Revit :: Large Areas Of Drawing Not Printing?

Jul 30, 2013

My plans are printing fine, but elevations and any 3d view print with the majority of the drawing missing. I'm guessing it has to do with the raster images used on walls for textures, but besides that I'm stumped. I'm trying to print in realistic view, because of the material textures that need to show up.

I've turned on sun lighting, as well as tried various PDF printers, but no change. When I go to the print preview it appears to preview incorrectly. The file is pretty small as the project is just a modest house. Pretty much all the settings are 'right out of the box'.

When I shift back to just 'Hidden line' mode and look at it in print preview it seems to print the drawing fine, but then the titleblock and firm logo dissapear. The actual PDF when printed is fine.

I'm working on revit 2013, in WIndows 7 inside parllels on a macbook pro.

AutoCAD LT :: Printing DWG To PDF - File Size Too Large In 2013?

I have successfully printed a dwg to a pdf but instead of its file size being 450k it is 1.4 m. This makes sending pdfs via email too cumbersome. It seems that even though the outcome is B&W somewhere along the line "it" thinks it is Color. I noticed that in Page Setup I no longer have the option of "DWG to PDF.pc3".

Illustrator :: How To Make Vector Backgrounds (for Large Printing)

Aug 21, 2012

Using CS4 on XP.

I recently did a tutorial as I wanted to learn how to make vector backgrounds (for large printing purposes and to save on file size)

I was wondering if this particular tutorial I did can cause the banding when professionally printed.

This is the link: [URL]....

What it is is simply making a shape with a gradient. Adding a solid color rectangle behind that shape, Selecting the shape and rectangle and creating an opacity mask. This creates a nice blend effect and I hope it looks as smooth on screen as it does in print.

Dealing with this situation of "banding", what worked for me is adding a curve layer to the top of my layers and adjusting the sliders all the way to the right in order to see on screen the "banding" more clearly. Is there a way to do this in Illustrator? They also recommended designing in 16-bit, however I think these graphcis I will be creating are very large (for booth displays) and I imagine the file would be outrageous in size.

Then when I go to Print the tile option in the print dialog is greyed out.

I know I've done this before in earlier versions.

Lightroom :: How To Export Images For Large Format Printing

Apr 17, 2013

Exporting large file sizes. In short I'm trying to export some images for large format printing but am having trouble preparing the right size in LR4.

Specifically I'm trying to produce w 30" x h 20" images. I understand that to do this I'll need a image that is 9000 x 6000 pixels set at 300 ppi. My problem is that when I export this, with the dimensions set to width and height in pixels and resize unchecked LR4 produces an image that is 9000 x 4887?

what i'm doing wrong here? Is it simply that the aspect ratio of image is wrong to produce this size image? My concern is not producing an exact file size for printing.

Paint.NET :: Cutting Large Image Into Smaller Pieces For Printing

Jun 3, 2011

In a nutshell - I am a seamstress attempting to make a pattern. Well, I have made the pattern - drawn it out on a large sheet of paper. I have manually "cut" it into letter-sized parts and scanned those parts onto my computer (with hash marks so that the parts can be matched back up to make the larger whole pattern).

I have spent a lot of time redrawing the lines in paint.net so they are neat and clean and more even. But then I went to print them and sizing is totally messed up and I am just not able to get my brain around this sizing thing. I need to be able to send these files to customers so they can print them out, put them together and have a pattern.

So, in effect, I have a large image that I want to print in puzzle pieces but they must maintain their *real* *life-sized* size. I'm attaching one of the individual files. What I need to do to it to make it be 8.5" x 11".

Photoshop :: Resizing Large PSD Files

Jun 27, 2013

I currently work for a fashion company whom do lots of designs using photoshop and the rest of the adobe applications.

When they save PSD files they're about 1GB in size.

Storage on the server seems to be getting very low now and we need to do something about it. We have several options in place for extra storage but would like your advice on down sizing the PSD files?

For example:

1) Are there add-ins to downsize?
2) Are they saving the files wrong?
3) Are they using wrong effects. layers etc?
4) Is it normal to have 1GB PSD files?
5) What can they do to have smaller PSD files?

Photoshop :: Opening Large PSD Files

Nov 22, 2012

We have 5 designers sharing design files across a windows network. Everyone is running  photoshop CS6 cloud subscriptions (which have auto updated to 13.0.1). The team have created and opened PSD files fine since July. Over the last 3 weeks we have had 5 files so far become unopenable - we get the message: “could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version”. Could it be that they are too large? The problem files are larger than the rest at around the 1GB mark. We are running HPZ210 PCs with Windows 7, solid state drives for the software, regular HDD for the data, and 16 GB Ram. One file at least was housed on a hard drive as well as the server and neither the local or network version of the file opens so it doesn’t seem to be a server issue. Five people on different subscriptions and computers have tried opening the files to no avail. Files were working ok one day, then not opening the next.

Photoshop :: Large Files Not Opening In 0.7

Apr 24, 2009

I'm having problems opening some large files I've been working on in photoshop7. Win XP pro sp3, HP dx2250 AMD athlon 64 3800+ 98MHz, 1.87GB RAM, 79.4GB free space on C:When I try to open these files I get a dialog box titled 'New', instead of the opening progress bar starting to fill up. The 'New' dialog box has the correct file name, image size listed as only 452k, when the file is actually over 2GB, Preset sizes set at Default photoshop size, width 16.02cm, height 11.99cm, res 72dpi.Actual size of file is 2.2GB, 96cm wide x 66cm high at 300dpi. Clicking on the "New" ok button opens up a blank background layer and no others ie it is opening a new file and not the one I have been working on. This happens to two versions of the updated file with separate file names (v3 and v4). I've opened the original file (v2, which still opens ok)) and have been enlarging the canvas size and converting from rgb to cmyk. It appeared to save okay. This happened yesterday, too and I thought I must have not saved it correctly, so redid the work and saved again. Now I know something not right as I can't open the saved files. I've cleared the preferences file but no change.
