View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing either Universal Document Converter for JPEG, or Adobe Acrobat 9 for PDF, AutoCAD 2011 (suddenly and without warning) started truncating 15~20 character filenames to 3 character filenames when printing.
It used to plot to the complete filename, swapping the JPG or PDF extension for the DWG extension, until last Friday.
I've done quite a bit of research in the forums for a similar problem but not quite got any suitable answer. I'm running LR3.6 on WinXP SP3 with 4Gb RAM (3Gb useable). I'm trying to print 140 images setup on 7 pages each 16" x 24" JPEG size files (settings as below). Surely that should be a doodle? 2 hr+ later, I just have the "Preparing Print Job" progress bar doing nothing like it's expecting further input from me. No error messages, nothing, until I quit. Is there anything I should be watching out for? It's the first time I've tried to convert such a large collection to file and it's rather worrisome that I have these problems. case of "user error"

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 4 page PDF file created from a Word text.
I'm managed to create an *animated* JPEG of all 4 pages of that PDF.
I don't know how to create a static JPEG as one file of all 4 pages of that PDF - so it's not animated?
I am looking to create a collage made from 100 photos (all taken high res) to be printed large, approx 120cm x 50cm. To be able to print this size I need to keep the high resolution and hence looking for a large file output.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy CorelMacros.CreateColorSwatch macro has stopped dumping the swatches into whatever blank Letter-sized document I have open (which is how it used to work) and instead it is creating a new document, at 4.25" wide x 7" high, and dumping the swatches into that. Using Pantone Solid Coated, but it's doing this regardless of what palette I choose.
There is no option in the Macro's dialog box to alter or even instantiate a page size, and I cannot find in the code of the macro where to set this variable.
I got this workflow,
1) From LR export to PS
2) Do all essential editings.
3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy)
4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg'
5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'.
6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it.
Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe)
Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.

Print to JPEG in LR5.2 produces a corrupt JPEG file that cannot be opened.
Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
It is convenient to add each image name as a text on each figure by Slideshow. Could I use each image name as the exported file name?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I shoot RAW + JPEG, and I add EXIF data to the JPEG files outside of Lightroom, when I import the RAW + JPEG pairs will the metadata I added to the JPEG files still be there?
I'd try it myself, but I don't actually have the equipment to do this right now.
I'm trying to export a JPEG so that the file size is smaller, for use on the web. So the file I have is 1.1 MB. I try to export via LR4 using the percentage slider, but no matter what percentage I use, the file size is always GREATER than 1.1 MB! And if I try to limit the size by inputing a value, say 1000 kb, I get an error message saying I can't do that for some reason:
Also, this is not the case with just one file, it is numerous files.
I want to shoot tethered in studio, and shoot RAW + JPEG, but I want Lightroom to only import the JPEGS so as to improve the speed. I shoot a Canon 7D.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do I convert the colour profile of a Lightroom custom printing package from Adobe Prophoto to sRGB before printing? For that matter, how do I save the thing? I have no interest in saving the template, or the collection separately, since neither has any use without the other. And without saving them as one finished item, I have no way to convert the colour profile of that item. I can see clearly from the appearance of the print preview that the above mentioned colour profile conversion is required.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am putting together a website for my Aunt who is an artist. I took pictures of her paintings in RAW format (CR2). I open with Photoshop and make minor level adjustments and resize the image to about 800pixels wide by whatever the length of the cropped painting is. I first saved as a jpeg and immediately noticed a loss in color.
The picture lost it's "pop" and a lot of her paintings are "popping" with color. I then tried "save for web" and noticed that the program wanted to save a gif. The gif looked awful because I could see small blocks that looked like pixels in certain areas.
The PNG format looks the best but is about twice the size of my jpegs. Because I need the images to look as good as possible.. would PNG work for the website? or are there settings for saving a jpeg without losing the color? (jpeg preferred because of the file size).
having trouble saving a file as jpeg in photoshop 7.0
I create a random photoshopfile, and save it as i'm used to. With all the standard options, but when i check the file afterwards my computer (internet explorer i mean) cant open the file.
I just get a small red cross and that's it.
But, when i have the project opened in photoshop, and i press print screen, and paste this images in a new photoshop file and save it as jpeg i CAN open it. (ofcourse i can just crop out my image, but this isnt supposed to be)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use CS for Photoshop. I have CS2 but CS seems to work better with my tablet.
Anyway, say I wanted to edit a stock image I found on the web. I'd save the image to my "stock images" folder in My Pictures, open it in Photoshop, then edit. Seems simple enough.
The problem is that whenever I take a JPEG from the internet into Photoshop, it darkens it and changes the contrast. So I edit it anyway. Then I'll host it on the internet. When I host it, it lightens the brightness and contrast back to where it was.
When it brightens it, it messes up my shadows and highlights and makes the picture look generally crappy.
