View 7 RepliesI have created something in Photoshop and saved it as a jpeg but when I open it up as a jpeg and try to print, it comes out pixelated. It has text and brushes in it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPrint to JPEG in LR5.2 produces a corrupt JPEG file that cannot be opened.
Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
It is convenient to add each image name as a text on each figure by Slideshow. Could I use each image name as the exported file name?

View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing either Universal Document Converter for JPEG, or Adobe Acrobat 9 for PDF, AutoCAD 2011 (suddenly and without warning) started truncating 15~20 character filenames to 3 character filenames when printing.
It used to plot to the complete filename, swapping the JPG or PDF extension for the DWG extension, until last Friday.
I've done quite a bit of research in the forums for a similar problem but not quite got any suitable answer. I'm running LR3.6 on WinXP SP3 with 4Gb RAM (3Gb useable). I'm trying to print 140 images setup on 7 pages each 16" x 24" JPEG size files (settings as below). Surely that should be a doodle? 2 hr+ later, I just have the "Preparing Print Job" progress bar doing nothing like it's expecting further input from me. No error messages, nothing, until I quit. Is there anything I should be watching out for? It's the first time I've tried to convert such a large collection to file and it's rather worrisome that I have these problems. case of "user error"

I just tried to copy and paste to show here..then draged into this space and it opened...tried to save it to desk top from here but it is still showing up as a very weid icon that will not open...? In the properties it shows as a jepeg, but the icon is totally different..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am seeking to find out something concerning actions. I am currently using photoshop7.
I have a software application that opens Photoshop interactively. When it
does, it automatically creates a .psd file and assigns it a name. It also puts
the file into a folder on my C drive. When I edit the file and then save it
again, I automatically create a .jpg to go along with the .psd. This is done
via an action in photoshop.
Sometimes the .jpg file is updated via another software application. When
this happens I would then like to update the .psd file to match the .jpg file.
I want to be able to open the .jpg file with an action, copy and paste the .jpg
image into the .psd file which I can do but my problem is: I would like the Action
to open the .jpg file no matter what the name is. Meaning: I
would have the .psd file open. The corresponding .jpg file will have the same
name as the .psd file except of course for the .jpg extension. Is there a way
to have the action go and open the .jpg file based on the name of the .psd.
Right now I can get this to work but the action has to know the name of
the .jpg file. In order for this to be an action it must know the name of
the .jpg file. Is there a way the action could open the .jpg file based on the
name of the .psd file? This is a confusing thread for me to try and explain.
I appreciate any help you might offer.
Bottom line is I need to update a .psd file to match a .jpg file. Both files will
always be in the same folder and have the same name.
My psd file---I saved it as a jpeg file. But the jpeg file looks digitized.
What am I doing wrong? What is the purpose of a psd file? Can you have these sent to a store to print through their photo department?

Just trying to open a simple JPEG image so I can edit it for use on a client's website I'm building for him, but I get this problem:
This is the image I'm trying to open and edit: I have had a look through a couple of threads on this problem but the notion of the file not reflecting what it actually is (e.g. a file labelled a .jpg but is actually a .psd etc) doesn't appear to apply here.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have completed a project with lots of layers and saved as a psd file including all the layers. I then flatten the image and save it as a jpeg. View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst let me say, I have searched through the forum and can't find the answer to what I am looking for. That is probably because I am not really sure what my problem is. As of yesterday I cannot save a file to jpeg (using PS7) I have done a virus scan and all the other regular checks but nothing is showing up.
Basically this is what I am doing. Opening a new document - adding some designs, flattening document and then saving. I choose to save it as a jpeg and everything seems to go fine until I go to open up the saved document. Then there is nothing there. Doesn't seem to matter if it is a new file or an old file. Same problem. (Mode is set to RGB-8bit)
Sometimes if I do a save as and give the file a completely new name a pop-up comes up and says the following: Could not save as "C:...est.jpeg" because that document is currently open. Save using a different name, or close the document and try again. Of course this makes no sense since I am doing a save as and giving the file a new name. Can anyone help me? Or point me in the right direction?

Sometimes it is possible to 'escape' from this, but the problem repeats and the only way out is to 'close' the image (the only option available). CS5 then crashes out. (64bit CS5 on Win 7 Ultimate).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was scanning a roll of drawings on a large format scanner, and I ended up with JPGs that are larger than 30k pixels wide. (I understand this is a limitation PS has)
The issue is, I spent hours scanning all these rules, and now I have a few JPEGs files that are very large (45k x 10k pixels), that I cannot open at all). The JPGs open fine in the windows viewer, so I know they are not corrupt.
If I can find someway to open them, I can then resize them slightly to fit within the limit, or save them as (PSB - Large Format). One of the ideas I had was to find some other software that I can use to open and re-save, or to split the JPGs in 2 or 3 pieces, and then piece them back together in Photoshop.
Recently I have been unable to save tiff and psd files as jpegs. When I select "save as" from the file menue I do not have jpeg as an option in the drop down menue. I have always been able to save files as jpegs until recently.
