View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded PE 12 & for some reason its Editor is not saving any changes I made despite ticking all relevant save boxes. It behaves very strangely - it does save 1 photo & then it stops saving . I was thinking it might be an interference with a previous PE11 versio - so I have deleted it from my PC - but it did not work. As a result it is useless for me - as I can process photos in my editor but as it does not save any changes

View 1 Replies View RelatedInstalled PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere seem to be a problem with PSE10 and PSE11 on my computer when loading image files digitized on my film scanner. When loaded into the editor the image file immediate takes today’s date and time, and thus changes place on the timeline. However, sometimes the original image file date remains intact, for no obvious reason. I find this very frustrating.
My setup is an HP computer running Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit, with i7 processor and 12GB memory. My film scanner is a Minolta Dimage Elite II working with a Windows XP-based computer, and data are transferred using memory stick.
It might be mentioned that I have made tests with a fixed set of image files on several computers running WindowsXP 32 bit, and several versions of PSE , including PSE10, without seeing this problem.
After updating the file title in a jpeg file, does PSE save the title by recompressing the file using the jpeg compression algorithm or does it simply update the file title without recompressing the file? Prgressive saves of unaltered files suggest that PSE is recompressing the file each time it is saved.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to print a photo on my Canon MX870 that has been edited (cropped and a few slight lighting changes) in Elements 9 , the colours look good on the screen but when I print it looks different, . I have the colour settings from the Edit menu set to "always optimize for printing". The file information shows the camera data as colour space sRGB.
I am using canon inks (all full) and canon matte photo paper and I selected the matte photo paper on the paper type in printer settings.
I have printed good photos before on this printer (I think using photo gallery) but was not using photoshop elements at the time. Does it make any difference if the photo is saved as a jpeg file or a pse file?

In the properties it shows as a jepeg, but the icon is totally different..
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor several years I have been managing my photos in iphoto and using PSE as an external editor for editing images. I currently use PSE 11 on an iMac with OS X Lion (version 10.7.5). My iPhoto Library is divided into a number of sub-libraries via iPhoto Library Manager. I have unexpectedly encountered a problem attempting to edit a RAW image (in this case a .NEF image from a Nikon D200) in a sub-library containing images shot in 2007. When I right click on the image and select Edit in External Editor the image opens in PSE 11 Editor, but it opens as a jpeg and not as an .NEF image. This is in spite of the fact that in iPhoto/Preferences/Advanced/RAW Photos I have checked "Use RAW when using external editor."
As an alternative approach I tried dragging and dropping the RAW image into the PSE 11 Editor icon in the Dock, but I got the same result.
I´m trying to extract text from a Corel file to a TXT file in another editor and then merge it back in.Extracting the text seems to be working just fine but when I´m trying to merge it back in I get the error message "Wrong file format or could not open".

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am seeking to find out something concerning actions. I am currently using photoshop7.
I have a software application that opens Photoshop interactively. When it
does, it automatically creates a .psd file and assigns it a name. It also puts
the file into a folder on my C drive. When I edit the file and then save it
again, I automatically create a .jpg to go along with the .psd. This is done
via an action in photoshop.
Sometimes the .jpg file is updated via another software application. When
this happens I would then like to update the .psd file to match the .jpg file.
I want to be able to open the .jpg file with an action, copy and paste the .jpg
image into the .psd file which I can do but my problem is: I would like the Action
to open the .jpg file no matter what the name is. Meaning: I
would have the .psd file open. The corresponding .jpg file will have the same
name as the .psd file except of course for the .jpg extension. Is there a way
to have the action go and open the .jpg file based on the name of the .psd.
Right now I can get this to work but the action has to know the name of
the .jpg file. In order for this to be an action it must know the name of
the .jpg file. Is there a way the action could open the .jpg file based on the
name of the .psd file? This is a confusing thread for me to try and explain.
I appreciate any help you might offer.
Bottom line is I need to update a .psd file to match a .jpg file. Both files will
always be in the same folder and have the same name.
I am trying to reduce the file size on a large number of jpeg photo's for unsertion into Windows Movie Maker. How do I compress the slides in a batch job? Can I do it in Photoshop Elements?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPrint to JPEG in LR5.2 produces a corrupt JPEG file that cannot be opened.
Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
It is convenient to add each image name as a text on each figure by Slideshow. Could I use each image name as the exported file name?
