Dec 24, 2012I am having trouble reading the menu text in Elements 11 that I juat purchased. I have found that with many programs there is a way to enlarge the menu text, but so far I have not been able to find a way to make the menu text large enough for me to read unless I am about 1' away from the screen which I am sure you can imagine is not reasonable or acceptible.

Feb 4, 2014I'm trying to put a picture (subject on a plain background) on a grid, with the picture being pixelated enough to match the scale of the grid, but I'm getting stuck trying to keep the detail of the picture as the grid step gets larger. (see below) Sounds impossible, but i know i'm getting caught up in the maths somewhere. Is there a way to manipulate the picture to get the detail in the bottom pic to transfer to the larger grid step of the top pi without changing the size of the grid?

Apr 25, 2013When using the perspective grid tool and type, I have a word on the right side of the grid in perspective, and I want to make a shadow of this word flat on the bottom grid. (Like how a tall building casts a shadow flat on the ground)
I tried using the shear tool to do it but it is a bit tricky getting it just right. There must be an easier way to do it within the perspective tool grid.
When I type the word and align it to the bottom grid, how do I rotate it whilst still being aligned in perspective on the bottom grid?If I try and rotate the word using the selection tool it rotates off axis so it is no longer laying flat on the bottom grid.
Words placed on the bottom grid always read from the left vanishing point - I want the word to read from the right vanishing point so it aligns with my word on the right grid wall.

May 14, 2012After upgrading to Gimp 2.8, I am loving the single window mode. But the brushes are working a bit differently to 2.6.
I work, mostly, on A4 pages at 300DPI. So when I want to enlarge a brush, I like to use a custom shortcut to quickly upscale the brush so that I can to a large size quickly.
This happened nicely in 2.6. However, in 2.8, I can't find a way to quickly upscale the brush in the same way. I've created the same custom shortcut, but the upscaling takes a lot longer to reach the desired scale. It's a case of holding down the keyboard shortcut and then waiting while the brush gets bigger.
Is there a way to speed up that upscale motion?
EDIT: In other words, is there a way to make the "increase brush size more" function increase its increments?

Sep 15, 2012Just recently, any prints I try to make on paper larger than 8.5 x 11 is offset, small or both using my epson 3880. Up until about 2 months ago it was fine. Also, the colors appear somewhat muted on the larger prints. Plus, I am still having a problem with prints being too dark but that is minor to the skewed printing. I still have LR 2 & 3 installed and tried using these programs with the same results.

Jan 11, 2014How to use a photo behind cut out text and everything was going fine until I tried to add text and change the color. The text is invisible even though I changed the color to white and the box resized itself really small and I can't see anything even though I set it to 150 px.
Try to unchecking the 'dynamic text' button but I don't see this button anywhere in my text tab.
I have never been able to successfully use GIMP for anything because of this problem with adding text. I have had 2 versions, Windows and Linux. Right now I am using it with Pangolin.

Nov 27, 2011I'm running PSPX3. the effect of no compression (or compression factor = 1) on saving files. I've got a JPEG image file straight from my camera that's approximately 4.1MB in size. If I do nothing else but "Save As" with a compression factor of 1, the new file size is approximately 50% larger, or 6.2MB. What has changed to make the file size larger? Both images are still 72DPI, 3648X2736px. I can't image that I have done anything to "improve" image quality, so why did the file size increase?

Jan 4, 2014I am using Photoshop elements 10 with windows 7 on my Toshiba laptop.
I am trying to make a slide show of photos for my brother's funeral. The photos will be shown on a screen at the church and on a TV monitor at home. I was used to Photoshop 4, but had purchased but not really used Photoshop Elements 10. I am about 1000 miles away from home so I cannot go back to try to using Photoshop 4 which is not on this laptop. I don't think I want to change (i.e. resample) the pixels, etc.
I have put into order all of the photos. However, the photos are of varying sizes. The photos taken digitally are fine. However, I have a lot of photos take a long time ago for like 3X3 or 2X3, i.e. like in the 50's - 90's, which were scanned. Then provided to me in a variety of ways. Coming to me they are small on the page. ie like in one corner. I am not trying to shrink these photos. I am trying to resize them larger. And probably get rid of most of the white background.

Oct 30, 2013I upgraded from PSE 10 to PSE 12 this week and am confused about a change in behavior.
I create a large blank document (3600x3600 pixels, scrapbook size) and then drag other items onto it to create new layers.
In PSE10, the items I dragged in kept their original size. In PSE 12, they get resized to match the size of the document I'm dragging them on to.Is there a setting I need to change? Can't find it.
