View 9 RepliesI have imported a survey file. When I insert the points into the drawing, the elevation changes to something that isn't even recognizable. When I view the point in the survey tab, the elevation is correct, when I view the point in the prospector tab it is different.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been sent a survey drawing with elevations. The format is a block, but it's not a named block. Each entity has it's own block name. So, I'm having trouble getting at the elevations. I can't seem to export and get the elevation or Postion Z.
I've tried exploding these blocks, but all I get is a couple of polylines, and some text. Useless. I've attached a sample drawing with a couple of these points.
A way to substitute the contents of a text throughout the drawing easily? What I want to do is substitute all existing elevations in the drawing with the same contents, but enclosed in parentheses, so that: xxx.xx becomes (xxx.xx)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI created the attached block to add spot elevations to a drawing. The block has attributes allowing elevations to be manually typed in, but also includes many dynamic features for rotation, lengthening, mirroring, etc. The block was created as an annotative block.
The block and all of its features work perfect as long as the dynamic features (rotation, etc) are not used after additional annotative scales are added. I often times have a drawing set at 1:10 or 1:20 scale and need to do an enlarged detail at 1:5.
What I would like to do is have this block set at 1:10 scale and 1:5 scale and manually rotate it (ideally using the dynamic features) at different angles for each scale. Is this possible and if so, why is it not working with this block? This works flawlessly when using annotative multileaders, so why shouldn't it work with blocks or is this just too labor intensive for the software?
I have also tried attsync, etc. and often times when rotating at different annotative scales, the text attributes go "bonkers" for the opposing scale when applying attsync.
How can I make sure the annotated surface labels spot elevations from my 3d design drawing which is being xrefed into a new Precise Grading Breakout Sheet plots screened?
The Label Style which I created for the annotated surface label spot elevations has all its properties set to be ByLayer for example its color and lineweight. The Layer I assigned the Label Style was assigned to a layer with a color and plot style that should plot any object screened. Color 8 and Plot Style Screened.
What other steps am I missing to assure myself that this Label Style will plot screened in my new Precise Grading Breakout Sheet?
I also made sure that the xref drawing in which this Surface spot elevation has the correct colors and lineweights and Plot Styles in my new Precise Grading Breakout Sheet.
I am currently working on a home where i need to have a single slanted roof go across the perimeter of the home to form a roof. But, i have run into the issue of not being able to connect the circled area(see attached) Is it possible to connect those separate roofs and if so how?

I have had a go at using the box function then using slice to get the solid into the right shape but then I am unable to slice it at an angle as shown by the red dotted line on my attachment.

. How to assign proposed elevation to layout alignment along each station?. I know there is a way in LDT to assign proposed elevations to s specific range of stations or the full alignment, under menu "profiles/ FG Vertical Alignments/Create COGO Points" I am looking for the same one in C3D.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I am creating a drawing, every so often, when I draw something, it gives me different elevations for the Z axis. Is there a way to keep that at 0? I'm not sure if it's because of vendors blocks, or whatever the reason, and I know how to change the elevation back to 0, but how do I stop it from starting to begin with?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn C3D 2012, when I needed to know what elevation a surface contour was at, I simply hovered my mouse near the point in question and a small window would tell me what elevation my mouse was hovering at. Now, in 2013 I am trying to do the same thing but the little window only has the name of the surface and no elevations. So, how am I supposed to know surface elevations on the fly? Is there some setting to turn that back on?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to label elevations on some large contours.
The problem i'm having is that 'multi line' does not give me enough elevations, while 'advanced placement' gives far to many elevations for mapping and plotting purposes. Is there a way to have more control on how Map labels contours?

View 7 Replies View Relatedwhat the roof elevation property relates to and why? Actually, I know that it is the initial insertion point of the roof baseline, but why doesn't it update with grip edited changes in the elevation of the baseline? See the attached file. The three x-lines converge on 0,0,0. The roof elevation is stated as 0. Obviously that property is meaningless. Considering the importance of roof elevations and making them meaningful, you'd think there would be some rhyme or reason to that property.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently drawing some roof tiles for a house in 3d. I moved the tiles to another drawing so i could get my machine to focus on the tiles rather than walls, windows, doors etc. My machine is still lagging hectically. Basically i would like to know is there a way i can perhaps make the roof tiles file smaller or a "block" of it so that my machine can run properly and i can import it into the drawing with the rest of the house. The roof tiles drawing is 40.3mb big. My machine isn't inadequate-hopefully.
I am on a mac running vmware fusion with windows 7 32-bit and when opening editing the roof tiles file my cpu % spikes to roughly 70% then backs quickly down to 50% and will not increase with Autocad not responding-leave it for a bit and it loads but lags a bit when i orbit, copy or whateva then back to not responding.
