View 1 RepliesHow to get the brick hatch pattern on my elevations to line up between levels. I have a two story residence with one wall the front that has brick all the up to the roof (the rest of the house has cement board side on the second story). My problem is that the brick pattern on the second floor wall does not line up with the brick pattern on the first floor.
I tried to just extend the first floor wall up to the roof, but I did not like how it wrapped around the corner of the second floor to tie in with the siding. Surely theres is a way to set the hatch patterns origin like in ACA so that all the bricks line up nice and pretty. Also would lining up the brick pattern on the quoins, which are, whatchamacallums... in-place-edit components?
Is there any way of adjusting the text on a level?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have inherited some Revit files, all of which have a ground floor and ceiling plan (hence an associated level).
The levels do not show the in elevations (or sections for that matter). It is not a view setting, I have checked this, nor are they hidden by category or element. I have added new levels and these are visible. The levels exist, I just cannot view them or select them.
In starting a new project, I renamed "Level 1" to "Street Level" and "Level 2" to "Level 1". Next I added two additional levels in the drawing, "Level 2" and "Level 3".
My Project Browser shows only Level 1, Site, and Street. Why do the Levels 2 and 3 not show under and how can I get them to.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working as the civil engineer on a design team for a building that is primarily using REVIT. My site design is done in Civil 3D in real world coordinates and elevations.
Unfortantely, the architect and the rest of the design team are working at 0,0 with a finished floor of 100. When I bring in the ADSK file, I can move it horiztonally to match my site but I can't figure out how to move it vertically so it ties in with my model.
I'm having trouble adjusting the levels on a layer after I've previously added noise to it. Basically I'm trying to add a simple snowstorm effect to a painting I'm currently working on.
The way I normally do is: create a new layer, then fill it with solid black, after that I go to filters>noise>add noise, then I add about 150% noise and check monochromatic, press ok, after that I go to image>adjustments>levels and adjust it so it leaves only a few white spots and then I press ok, but this time nothing happens after I press ok in the levels window and the image stays the same.

When creating movies from video taken I add both background music, narration and sometimes sound effects.
When using background music in particular I prefer to reduce the volume during narration so that the narration can easily be heard. I have been doing that using the 'rubber band' by trial and error - I reduce the volume by 'pulling' the 'rubber band' down a little and then preview that section of the video to check if the volume level is correct/to my satisfaction. I note that during the process of adjusting sound level with the 'rubber band' that there is a sound level 'meter' (in decibels) but I don't seem to be able to use it. Is this (adjusting the sound level in decibels) the method I should be using and if so how is it used?
What is the best method to use when adjusting sound levels in the middle of a sound 'clip'?
I have just discovered actions which are great and timesaving. One question I have is that if I have an action to adjust levels will the script just bring the highlights and shadows buttons to where i ran in the script or is it clever enough to realise that the script is taking them to the ends of the histogram?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI quite often need to process digital photo's on CD ROM. By which I mean I am asked to duplicate CDs with sometimes hundreds of pics on. In doing so I notice that the original pictures are invariably poor colour and brightness. When I apply an Image Adjust Auto levels function the picture is wonderfully transformed as to how it should look. If I spend time on each individual photo it takes ages to do and no longer is cost effective.
I like to keep the client happy and so, is there a way I can create a 'droplet' or 'batch' or indeed anything that will allow me to apply Auto Levels or Auto Contrast to say, 200 images at a time? I am using Photoshop 6.1 at present.
Simple program that will adjust invert elevations of a pipe based on the cover depth.
I have a existing uitility maps that only label the the cover depths. I have to show these utility crossings in my profile views. I have different rules set up for various depths when laying out my crossing pipes in plan, but I need the ability to to edit the various cover depths more quickly. I am using Civil 3d 2012 only.
I have multiple paper spaces to show a variety of drawings. I currently have my floor plan as a viewport, but I need to delete it in order to add in my elevations. I tried deleting my current viewport, but it also deletes the rest of mine. How do I delete a viewport from only one paper space, so that it does not interrupt with my other drawings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am facing the following problem:
I’ve got a 3D model with some blocks inserted. These blocks won’t show up in 2D or 3D sections or elevations.
When I leave only the blocks on and freeze the rest of the drawing, no section is created at all (“There are no solids or surfaces that can be projected”).
None of the geometry is on the Defpoint layer. The objects are printed and DO show up in the live section preview.
The layer is on and the ground levels on the architectural drawing in model view show the number and the box surrounding them however in the drawing window be it in the numbers have dissapeared and we are left with only the boxes ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a way to see and adjust paperspace viewports in modelspace. By adjusting viewports in modelspace I would like to be able to adjust the size of my rectangular viewport in modelspace to encompass what I want, while keeping the viewport on paperspace the same size (to encompass the entire print page). I would like my modelspace viewport to simply adjust the zoom in and zoom out of my paperspace viewport.
Any better method than individually zooming in and zooming out and re-adjusting my paperspace viewport.
It is almost seeming like you should not try to creat these views in templates to get a jump start on projects. but for the life of me I am not understanding how you can get level lines to appear elevations that have already been create. or in new ones?is there away to successfully get these back?

How can the host file be used as the datum base Finish Floor 0 and all the other buildings relate, even though at different elevations of floor levels? View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been away from Revit for awhile. Isn't there an easier way to edit lines in elevations without creating dozens of masking regions to hide model lines from walls, roofs etc.?I thought in older versions, (I'm currently on 2012), that you could just select lines to make them invisible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to generate counter elevations from my Revit Model. I am designing a coffee bar area and have developed a Revit family for a "U" shaped counter. In trying to set up my elevation, I notice my elevation views of the inside right or indise left of the "U" shaped counter are blocked by the opposite leg of the counter.
Also, I am trying to generate an elevation of my rear support counter and it seems to be blocked by the bottom of the "U" shaped counter. I have attached a sketch of the plan view of where I have set up my elevation views.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a topography model that I've been working with for a while now, and all of a sudden the spot elevation stopped working. I have one spot elevation that works, that i can move around and it'll change to the right plus height. But as soon as i try to make a new one it just says -0.05 no matter where i put it except for if i hover over a stair, then it displays the correct plus height.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to create sections and plans showing interior finishes. As walls are all of the same structure I used the split face tool. When applying 'paint' to the face it only gives me the options of materials not fill patterns i.e. hatches. How do I get it to apply hatches or is there a visibility setting that i need to change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to make spot elevations not be sticky?
When I am annotating spot elevations in a site plan on a steep slope with retaining walls, the spot elevations keep snapping to points that I don't want them to. When I get close to a point I want to annotate, the spot will jump to another point that is close, such as the bottom of a retaining wall, and I want to annotate the grade at the top of wall.
Snap Off doesn't work.
Is there a setting buried in Revit that can be changed to control this? My guess it that it's built in and can't be changed...
Background: infrequent user who is in AutoCAD withdrawal but forcing himself to move to Revit.
I've just started a new project. I've imported a survey done in AutoCAD and converted it to a Topo surface.
The surface appears in two of the Elevations (East and North), but not the other two. I have two empty views. I've turned off Crop View. When I did this and a Z A, I was able to find the East and North elevations and move the views over to them. However, I can't find the elevations in the other views.
I downloaded a pocket door from Revitcity.com and noticed that whoever created this family had one of the "controls" that flips the family on the elevations. When I am in elevation view my controls are grayed out. Just wondering how to place a flip symbol on the elevations?! I would love to be able to switch the swing of a window or door on the elevations!!

In autocad we use a little line with the detail number, but I can't find anything like that in revit. I've attached an example.
