My snap to extension feature is not working, and I'm looking to see why. In my object snap menu the extension is selected, and aside from that I'm not sure what else it could be other than bugging out.
The extention line (green dashed) will usually (but not always) show up in the vertical direction but almost never in the horizontal axis.
I have just upgraded from Map 2009 to 2012 4-bit and many of my lisp programs using map functions do not work. Is there an explanation for this and is there a new "catalog" of data extension function and such available somewhere?

For example, when drawing a simple rectangle after drawing (2) sides, If I go to snap to my initial starting point to show a vertical extension line to intersect with my third line I am drawing, the vertical extension will not show up, even though the horizontal extension line is visible, and even though it snaps to the my starting point to where I wish have the polar tracking show the vertical extension.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I drawn a Polyline or rectangle, I wasn't able to Snap the Object. So measuring was a hard thing to do.I found a solution to this bug: Disable the Linetype Generation. After that snapping will work again.
This problem occurred out of nowhere. It always worked without changing the linetype generation.
Snap to grid stopped working. I am reasonably sure I did something as it was working fine a few days ago.

I normally use F11 to turn it on or go through the drafting settings menu to turn it on. The Object Snap Tracking box is checked and should work, but it doesn't. Is there a magic variable that needs to be set?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to join a couple of lines with arcs. Unfortunately I have got a dxf created with CATIA. When I try to join them with pedit it does not work.
If I move the end point of the circle away and snap it back to the line, I can join them. Blending the Curves together is working (this shouldn't if the endpoints match, right?)
You can see it in this screenshot:
(On the left the circle and line are joined after I snapped them together, on the right they are connected using "Blend Curves" as you notice the tiny white connection)
So here it leads to my question:
Those lines seem not to be lying end to end together so I can join them. Is there a function to snap them together or to automatically ignore/fill such a little gap?
I tried installing an extension ("Dr Browns Services") from inside Photoshop CC. The install hangs. I cancelled and entered Adobe Extension Manager CC and it simply hangs on launch. I can get out of it with a forced quit. Meanwhile Photoshop itself is quite stable.How can I un freeze Adobe Xtension Manager CC?

The snap to grid functionality in the UV editor doesn't work for me in 3ds Max 2012. In the UV editor (accessed via the Unwrap UVW modifier), I've checked "Show Grid" in the View menu, set the snap strength to its maximum value (0.5) in the UV editor preferences window, and clicked the "snap to grid" button on the bottom right of the UV editor window (the one that depicts a magnet over a grid), but when I translate a UV polygon its pivot point isn't snapped to the grid intersections (or to anything else, for that matter).
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe recently had a draftsman that drew with snap on (he no longer works here), and now all the drawings he worked on have this setting turned on. I thought it would be as simple as opening up the drawings and either hitting F9 or clicking on the toggle to turn off snap. That doesn't seem to be the case. Snap mode seems to be tied to individual sheets, and every viewport. I have multiple sheets in a drawing and each sheet has multiple viewports. The last thing I want to do is open every drawing, click in every viewport on every sheet to turn off snap.
I have snapmode set to 0, but it will only turn it of in whatever sheet or viewport is active. I have to write a lisp routine that will go through every viewport on every sheet to set snapmode to 0?
Just like the headline says I get this bug alot and the only way to fix this is closing max and reopening the file and the snap will work. It seems to center the snap after the mirror modifier is added and collpased.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove a circular shape from a rectangle in illustrator, the retangles width is 10px and the diameter of the circle is 13px, I centre the circle ontop of the rectangle ( or I appear to) but when I use the Shape mode tool minus front, the circle is no longer centred ( see images).
I have tried switching off smart guides and snap to grid and am still having the same problem.
In the above image you can see once I have divided the 13px circle from the rectangle it has moved off to one side.
Also when I am trying to manually place the circle ( rather than using the centre guides ) I can only move it by a large degree it alway moves further than I move the mouse, could this be because of a pixel grid? I do not think I am using this. ( can see in the above image where I am trying to place the circle and when I let go of the mouse, the grey circle is where it lands.
From the 2 images below you can see that there is a 1px difference on either side of the extracted circle I was trying to get centered.
I should mention that the 'Align to pixel grid' in the transform menu is inactive when I am trying to do this, as I initially thought that this may be the cause of my problems, but it made no difference.
I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.
to sum up, this is something like that:
1- click on the menu item
2- load extension
3- add listeners
4- do your stuff......
5- remove listeners
6- unload extension
Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.
What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
Or notify when extension is loaded or unloaded.
Is that possible and hw could I achieve that?
I'm using Inventor 2011 and I can't figure out how to set my dimension settings so it breaks the dimension extension lines automatically when crossing over other dimension extension lines. I saw that others say it just happens, but it is not "just happening" for me. how to set my dimensions so when dimension lines cross each other one of them automatically breaks?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSnap commands in X6? I can not get the snap to grid to turn off. The button is off and the setting is set to off in options. Objects seem to snap all over not just to the grid. And the grid snap seems to be out of alignment-I cant seem to get objects to snap exactly to the grid.
The same files reopened in X5 are fine. This started with yesterdays install of 6.2. leaving X2 completely unusable.
I'm trying to snap one object to the other with vert snap.
It's trying to snap from the center of my object rather then the vert I am hovering over. In the Snap settings I have only "vertex" checked so it should snap to whatever vertex I hover over but no...This keeps up I'm going back to 2008 when all this worked fine.
When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.
know of a conversion strategy to get a DEM file that has IMG extension into Map 2008?
We do have Arcview, which will open the IMG file (ERDAS Imagine raster format?), but it will only save this as standard raster formats (jpg, tiff). I am doubtfull that one can use these formats as a DEM in Map.

On debugging looks as if autocad load first dll-A and than load dll-B.
Can it be that the (dll-A) is loaded twice?
when drawing a line whether a normal line or polyline it adds an tail to the top going 90 degrees to the right, and even on paper space it still shows them. but I cant click on the or delete them, they move with the line too.

I'm trying to load the Google Earth Extension in AutoCAD Map 3D 2011 on a 32 bit machine (XP)
I keep getting this error in Map: Import GE Image unknown command.
Demandload is set to 3. I have loaded the Google Earth.cuix. I have added it the support file search path.
We have it loaded on many machines that are 64 bit and have no problems. Is there something I have to do with the 32 bit machine?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI want to use diameter extension lines to span the diameter of the circle by forcing the dimension line to be on. When I do that, the arrows are on the outside of the diameter and I want them on the inside so I use the flip arrow command. What happens is the extension line opposite of the dimension text is sticking outside the circle and I want to get rid of it because it just looks bad. I dont see a way of turning off this little extension line. Every thing I turn off doesnt seem to do anything.

I'm trying to make an application that would take a drawing(dwg) and convert it to pdf. Since I can do it directly in autocad 2013, i presume that there should be a function in the API, that i could use to do the same. So far, i tried with AcadDocument.export(filename, FileExtension, AcadSelectionSet) with no luck. I cannot put PDF as a valid file extension.
