Illustrator :: Align Text Horizontally And Vertically In Text Box - Text Slightly High Of Center
Jul 9, 2013When you centrally allign text horizontally and vertically in a text box, the text sits slightly high of the centre. Is there any way of setting an action or setting to deal with this rather than adjusting by eye every time?

Jul 31, 2013When placing a dimension with the text outside of the extension lines, it defaults to placing the text either above right or below left of the arrows. If you try to grip/drag the text to another location (i.e. below right or above left) it won't allow it. I don't know if it is following some standard, but in the example shown, I had to explode the dimension to position the text in the preferred location.

The motivation is, that I change a text in an image quite often and it whould "align itself" if it whould always be aligned at the bottom of the textbox.

Photoshop :: How To Vertically Align Text Within A Text Box
Oct 22, 2012I am creating a banner for a website. The banner is say 400 pixels wide by 60 pixels high. I drag the horizontal type tool so that it covers the entire rectangular shape exactly. I can center the text horizontally by selecting Window-->Paragraph and then selecting the center button. However I can't seem to center the text vertically in the banner using some Photoshop option. Once the text is typed then I can move it to what I think is vertically centered but it may not be exact.
The reason I am looking for exactness is I have to create several banners that are the same dimension but the text within will be different. Some of the banners will be one line and others will be two lines. I would prefer to vertically center them exactly.

Feb 9, 2012I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.
to sum up, this is something like that:
1- click on the menu item
2- load extension
3- add listeners
4- do your stuff......
5- remove listeners
6- unload extension
Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.
What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
Or notify when extension is loaded or unloaded.
Is that possible and hw could I achieve that?

Nov 29, 2011I'm using Inventor 2011 and I can't figure out how to set my dimension settings so it breaks the dimension extension lines automatically when crossing over other dimension extension lines. I saw that others say it just happens, but it is not "just happening" for me. how to set my dimensions so when dimension lines cross each other one of them automatically breaks?

I click on the move icon on the left and then go to the top to click on the align buttons after i select the layer but i'm not able to click on any of the align buttons. maybe the layer is locked or something. I start with something like a circular hierarchy, that I get as an output from another program. These are only lines and text. Now I want to add a flag behind the text. This flag should have the same orientation as the text path.
As this hierarchy is actually pretty big (this is only a snippet), I don't want to rotate all the flags manually. I tried to do it manually with the below example, but it still doesn't looks right...
Is this a proper method to rotate the flags according to the orientation of the text paths in Illustrator?

Nov 23, 2012I'm new to Ai, and I'm working off of a 2 column end movie credit scroll with a space between them.
The formatting/alignment is fine and I simply need to replace the names in each column. However, the text is not behaving how I'd like it to. When I type text in the left column, I'd like the text to move to the left, but when I type it goes to the right (into the middle space), pushes the text in the other column to the right and messes up the formatting.
Is there a setting or way to make the text go to the left?

Apr 30, 2013Occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite for left & right align, usually on Illustrator documents with Russian type.
In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.
In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.
I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.
