I've only just started using AutoCAD 2013 and enjoying the Measuregeom feature for a few days, when all of a sudden it just stopped working. Whenever I try to measure a distance, it asks me to enter an option (distance, radius, angle, area etc.), and when I click Distance, it asks me to specify first and then second point again, and then enter an option again, and so on.
View 9 RepliesI am using a full version of 2014 plain vanilla AutoCAD. More recently I have had the utility panel (that contains MEASUREGEOM) and the export panel pulled down in the work area for ease of access. The utility panel has disappeared completely, and sometimes I find the export panel hiding on the far right side of my screen with just a little bit of it sticking out. I right click on the the home tab and open "show panels" and I don't even see the utilities panel as an option to check or uncheck. I wonder if the utility panel is hiding beyond my screens view, but am unsure how to easily explore this possibility.
View 2 Replies View Relatedm in the middle of a little project and want to know if its possible to save the info that the _MEASUREGEOM command displays when applied to measure distance or angle to the project.
I used to use a lisp script to do this but that was on my PC. Im not running autocad on my mac and it wont alow me to run the script. it loads it but then gives the error
error: vl-load-com not supported on "Mac OS X Version 10.8 (x86_64)"
when i try and apply the command. Does MEASUREGEOM have a built in feature to save these details to the project i.e. next to the line or shape measured?
Is it possible to get the output from the MEASUREGEOM command back into an VL program?If I use:(setq angle (command "MEASUREGEOM" "a" line1 line2 "x"),
the value of the angle is displayed on the screen but is not passed back into the program and the variable "angle" is not set.Is there a way that I can set this variable?
This is issue in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012. After installing Feature Recognition x64 bit 2012, its installing successfully. But its not showing in Add-in manager and is not working. S

I just started having an issues with the delete feature. When I click on an object and it highlights it--when i hit the delete button, it doesn't delete the object any more. Also i should be able to click on as many object as i want, now it makes me hold the shift key down. And also when I click on an object then pull the layers tab down to assign it to a diffent layer ---it won't change it now.. what do you think is going on with the software and who might I contact to get this problem corrected.
View 3 Replies View Related"make components" has worked flawlessly for a few years until today.
I have a part with 47 individual solid bodies. When I select all the bodies and hit the "make components" tool about 2/3 of the bodies deselect and are not included in the list to be sent out to parts. While in the command, I cannot select them in any way. However, I can open one of the derived parts that are created and edit to select one of the bodies that refused to work in the make components command. While this is a workaround im not looking forward to doing this to 30+ parts.

Following on from my post regarding a sheet metal component that was unable to create a flat pattern due to creating the component in an assembly; URL....I have found out that it wasn't the in place component that was the problem it seems to be the loft and sweep feature that cause this problem. I have thought about using the extrude feature (as this works) to create the shape and then cutting the ends to get the angles I want but that would be time consuming.
I have set up the sheet metal rule to be 3mm mild steel, any way creating this component and being able to create a flat pattern.
I am trying to use the cloning feature but it does not seem to be working. It was working fine when I last used it. I don't know if I am not doing sth right. I am new to Photoshop and I am thinking it might be sth simple that I do not know.

I tried deleting and reloading the software, and this also did not work. I select an area to fill and choose content aware and it will only fill it partially.

Toolbar (the new tab) -> text/input: none -> Load -> roll down menu to "text file" -> roll down menu to "UTF-8" -> click the text file i've created using TextEdit = nothing happens.
Have i missed something very obvious or is it broken?
In TextEdit i choose to make the text "plain" so i can save it as a UTF-8 but during the load of the textfile smoke "tells me" "Cannot open"

View 5 Replies View RelatedWith the Rectangle Tool's cursor is clicked in the document. The Rectangle Panel appears. A height dimension is entered. With the pointer, the Width field is clicked. Usually, the Height Value gets automatically entered in the Width field. In this case it does not.
This same behavior is occuring in the Ellipse Tool.

I have been working with some GIS data in the form of SHP files in autocad map 3D 2011. On one of my layers I have started getting "Feature was not saved in the target feature source" when I try to check in my data. In total there are 308 errors in the data table, all of which were features I deleted. They all have a featID of null and I cannot remove them from the data table. I need to fix these errors without going back and starting over.

I like to use the sharpen feature and the unsharp mask feature but haven't gotten very good at it. Mostly I'm wondering if there is a way to calibrate the sharpen function so that it doesn't sharpen quite so much each time I click it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use the cut across bend feature on a sheet metal part. However, when I check cut across bend, it grays out all of the other cutout options, and only has thickness as the only option. This is perplexing to me, because I can't think of too many times I'd need this option other than when there is more than one thickness of material I need to manipulate the profile onto.
I was to understand that this "cut across bend" is for use similar to the "normal cutout" command in solid edge? Keeps the cut perpendicular to the sheet face in a sheet metal part.

I brought in a SHP and have pretty fancy style with a label. How on earth do you save these? The style library does not work for SHP files!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working on a drawing that started life as a dxf file from a client. I am having problems with the scale of hatching in that whilst I might normally do a line hatch at a scale of 25 to get the same spacing I now have to set the scale to 650.
Initially I had a problem that the scaling in viewports was also wrong but I sorted that one out but I cannot find how to reset the hatch scale to my normal setting.
I am also finding that when hatching it seems to find gaps in lines that it would not normally do. Even after I have filleted all the corners the hatch still in some cases 'spills out'. The measuring and dimensioning tools are all working correctly and show the correct figures.
I have brought in Civil 3D data via sdf (points and plots/parcels) and have done an intersect query but the area of the original plot and resulting intersection are the same.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI work with a colleague who is running AutoCAD MAP. When he makes a block or saves a drawing, at the origin is a 3D, downward pointing arrow which in 2D plan view obscures anything around the origin. I open his blocks or drawings in ACAD2012 or 2013 with the same issue. In plan view, the 3d arrow appears as a circle with radial lines running out from the center. If I save the drawing in my ACAD that feature is still there.
I've attached a png screenshot of what I'm talking about.
Is there any way to get rid of that feature, which is apparently coming from his MAP version of ACAD? I've looked for settings on his machine and on mine. I have played with the Workspace setting. I've looked in Options for anything. Maybe there is a system variable. How to control the visibility of this 3D arrow in ACAD?
I have liner map feature. I want to apply to lines width like on the picture which I attached. For drawings - polylines I apply differnt "start segment width" and "end segment width" on the "Properties". But how can I do it for liner map features which I connected with "Data connect"?

Just wondering if there is a way to enable these. I have tried adjusted the plot styles but to no effect.
Again this is for feature lines not normal autocad entity lines.
I have labelled features in a shp file and it appears fine on the screen. They even appear when I do a print preview but when I actually plot it the labels do not print? How I can get them to print?
I am trying to label highways using the route number attribute in the dbf file associated with the shp file. I was able to label the features using the style editor and using the display manager. It seemed fine and worked great until I went to print the maps off.The labels are dynamic and scale with the drawing I am sure this has something to do with it. Is there a way to have these labels be static?

It's easy to do querry in data connect but somehow I didn't find a way to export querred objects to independede shapefile.
I have created two feature buffers - one at 25m and one at 50m. I only want to show the area between 25m and 50m and am struggling to get the Feature Overlay analysis to do this. Is it possible and if so how?
There are no intersecting areas and I'm trying to display the "doughnut" area.
