I am trying to use the cloning feature but it does not seem to be working. It was working fine when I last used it. I don't know if I am not doing sth right. I am new to Photoshop and I am thinking it might be sth simple that I do not know.
View 3 RepliesI have a leayer with a bit map inside a photosop folder in my layers. When I clone it the layer information just disapears. When I ctrl+alt to duplicate it sometimes the layers are active but there is no artwork at all Layer is visible /eye is on/ when click thumbnail to select objenct in the layer a "No pixels alert pops up".
The only way to be able to get the artwork is use a previous version.No I did not delete the layer, neither any one touch the

I'm using photoshop Extended 5.1 (64 bit) on a pc.The original file v.01 was done in a mac photoshop cs3, edited and saved as a in the office pc (now v.06), I name my files sequentially to be able to back track, (so a filename looks something like this client_project_B01_v03_06.psd )
For some reason my cloning start poition has stopped working. Normally you select clone tool / press alt/ right click at position where you want to copy from /right click again at new position you want to copy to / I am now getting: "could not use clone stamp as area has not been defined". I thought it might be fault on keyboard, but is the same with new keyboard and I have reinstalled CS4.

Whenever I try to measure a distance, it asks me to enter an option (distance, radius, angle, area etc.), and when I click Distance, it asks me to specify first and then second point again, and then enter an option again, and so on.

Toolbar (the new tab) -> text/input: none -> Load -> roll down menu to "text file" -> roll down menu to "UTF-8" -> click the text file i've created using TextEdit = nothing happens.
Have i missed something very obvious or is it broken?
In TextEdit i choose to make the text "plain" so i can save it as a UTF-8 but during the load of the textfile smoke "tells me" "Cannot open"

I just started having an issues with the delete feature. When I click on an object and it highlights it--when i hit the delete button, it doesn't delete the object any more. Also i should be able to click on as many object as i want, now it makes me hold the shift key down. And also when I click on an object then pull the layers tab down to assign it to a diffent layer ---it won't change it now.. what do you think is going on with the software and who might I contact to get this problem corrected.
View 3 Replies View Related"make components" has worked flawlessly for a few years until today.
I have a part with 47 individual solid bodies. When I select all the bodies and hit the "make components" tool about 2/3 of the bodies deselect and are not included in the list to be sent out to parts. While in the command, I cannot select them in any way. However, I can open one of the derived parts that are created and edit to select one of the bodies that refused to work in the make components command. While this is a workaround im not looking forward to doing this to 30+ parts.Â

Align Objects feature is not working in trial version of Illustrator CC. Brand new MacBook Pro, have tried rebooting etc. Is this a software bug or a limitation of trial version?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWith the Rectangle Tool's cursor is clicked in the document. The Rectangle Panel appears. A height dimension is entered. With the pointer, the Width field is clicked. Usually, the Height Value gets automatically entered in the Width field. In this case it does not.

Following on from my post regarding a sheet metal component that was unable to create a flat pattern due to creating the component in an assembly; URL....I have found out that it wasn't the in place component that was the problem it seems to be the loft and sweep feature that cause this problem. I have thought about using the extrude feature (as this works) to create the shape and then cutting the ends to get the angles I want but that would be time consuming.
I have set up the sheet metal rule to be 3mm mild steel, any way creating this component and being able to create a flat pattern.
I am transferring over from Corel and using Photoshop CS4. Sorry to post such a simple question but I'm not quite getting it...and I know it has to be VERY simple. I am having trouble using the cloning tool in Photoshop.
In Corel I simply right clicked on the area I wanted to clone, put my "brush" over the area I wanted to re-do with the clone and it was done. For some reason I am not picking up the process in Photoshop. Any simple tips to get me going?
I wonder if anybody else has experienced this? Whenever I use the Clone tool, the place where I clicked to clone shows blurs around the edge, a softening.

Example: say you cloned a wedge of pie, can I turn that wedge around before placing it into the picture.
two people in my compartment got new laptops, both using the same software. So I installed one machine completely, including Photoshop, cloned it and write the clone on the second laptop. Now, both Laptops can't run Photoshop anymore. After loading an error message appears and PS is closing The error message is (translated from german):"Your Username, company or serial number for Adobe Photoshop is missing or invalid. The application can no longer be executed and will shut down now." Maybe sysprep removed those informations before cloning? Now, how can I reenter the information without starting photoshop?

I cloned myself three times by taking three different pictures without moving the camera. After that I took one picture and made it the "master picture." I then cut the other clones and dragged them into the "master picture." However, you can still see the lines from the light difference.

Pixel/Cloning question: I have 2 images- one imports as 16.7%, 4000/3000 pixel dimension, 180 res, the other at 33.3%, 2400/1800 pixels and 72 res. When choosing the pixel size for the cloning brush, how does the number of pixels I choose relate to the image size that photoshop has imported your image as? If I decide to work on an image at a different %- zooming in or out, how does that affect the pixel size that I have chosen? Since the actual dimension of the pixel is variable, what criteria is photoshop using to determine the actual size of the pixel, and how does that change at different percents of zoom?

I am using the cloning tool to clone the individual, tiny berries that make up the blackberry.
I make my selection, then left click to paste my selection, and each time I make a new left click, I get a different image of the clone I originally selected.
This happens if I am cloning on the original background image, or on a new blank layer.
If I am working on a blank layer and look at that layer without the background, the clone image is different at each pasting.
If opacity is at 100%, shouldn’t the clone look exactly alike each time I left click to paste a clone?
How do I clone the area from around the beginning of the window to the edge of the photo on the right hand side and add it to the right side of the photo so that it looks like the photo is extended longer to the right? And how can I do it without repeating the couple in the window?
