View 9 RepliesI have a pretty basic knowledge of Photoshop and I am trying to change fabrics on curtains I have managed to do this but now I am trying to use pattern maker to create a tiled pattern with a fabric so it repeats correctly I have worked out how to start this off but every time I generate a pattern and tile it it becomes distorted I have tried increasing the sample detail but this just seems to distort it more.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI love the new Pattern Maker in CS6, but I keep running into a problem:
Â
When I create a pattern that is NOT tiled in Grid (i.e. Brick), it usually works without any problem. But once I save and re-open the file, opening the pattern in PM again will show this message:
Â
A clipping mask was created around the pattern tile bounds to preserve legacy pattern appearance. For best results, release the clipping mask when changing the tile size or editing art that overlaps the tile edge. I would then find that, instead of a single motif layed out in a Brick tile, I would have one complete motif in the center and four quartered motifs on the corners of one clipping box. This is tiled in a Grid pattern to emulate a Brick appearance.
Â
So long story short, what's supposed to be a Brick tile turns into a Grid tile that's faking a Brick tile.
Â
Is there a way to keep the simple Brick tiles?
I was reading about the pattern maker filter in Photoshop but can't find it under the Filter menu. I have CS4 and thought this would be an interesting feature to use but can't find it. Is it not available in CS4?

Whenever I make a pattern in CS6 and repeat it there is always a line showing up on the initial boundary box. The objects are over the boundary line and should not be a problem. Below you can see the line break in the pattern.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIt may be the way I'm using this feature and I've just missed it - it appears to me that you can't have a solid background to your swatch because the way it stacks/overlaps elements means that you will end up cropping some elements on some sides.
Â
Try it just by putting a solid shape the exact size of the tile.
I am making a flyer for my customer, in Page Maker. They are a florist, and I have edited the images from FTD etc to their standards.
I have run into a problem though. I have traditionally put FTD's logo directly on the images while I am editing them. A request was made, that all logo's would be the same size. In order to do this, I need to have the logo as a separate image with an opaque back ground in Page Maker.
I have been unable to paste in any images (.tif) with opaque back grounds. This is probably due to the fact that our printer has us use CMYK. Yet, photoshop can handle CMYK with opaque back grounds just fine, why cant Page Maker?
I have a series of pics create din photoshop but I need to turn it nto a simple animation, like stop frame, one still after the other. Can I create it in Photoshop? If not are there any programs out there that can do it for free? I am about to buy Flash but I want a free programme today, I'm using Mac OSX 10.4.9.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some embedded images in Frame Maker that I need to edit in Photoshop. I copy the image from FM and paste it as a new image into Photoshop. Most of the time its OK, but sometimes it comes up like this, or worse.
It should look like this.
Pasting the image into any other program (i.e. Word, Visio, Paintbrush) works, but it takes more time to fix it, the size is usually off and needs adjusting, and the output is of lower quality.
Â
In FM, the images that seem to do this are JPEG / Frame Vector or PNG / Frame Vector according to the Facets field.
Do i need to rename the files. Indesign does not recognize them as any format. Yet they are pagemaker invoices (archaic mac version)...and adobe photoshop mac files (layouts, etc) have no extension. what would the correct extension be...maybe if i change the extension it can see them, but not sure what they should be?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am transferring over from Corel and using Photoshop CS4. Sorry to post such a simple question but I'm not quite getting it...and I know it has to be VERY simple. I am having trouble using the cloning tool in Photoshop.
In Corel I simply right clicked on the area I wanted to clone, put my "brush" over the area I wanted to re-do with the clone and it was done. For some reason I am not picking up the process in Photoshop. Any simple tips to get me going?
I wonder if anybody else has experienced this? Whenever I use the Clone tool, the place where I clicked to clone shows blurs around the edge, a softening.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way that when you clone a specific area you can rotate the object say 180 degrees before placing it in the desired area.
Example: say you cloned a wedge of pie, can I turn that wedge around before placing it into the picture.
two people in my compartment got new laptops, both using the same software. So I installed one machine completely, including Photoshop, cloned it and write the clone on the second laptop. Now, both Laptops can't run Photoshop anymore. After loading an error message appears and PS is closing The error message is (translated from german):"Your Username, company or serial number for Adobe Photoshop is missing or invalid. The application can no longer be executed and will shut down now." Maybe sysprep removed those informations before cloning? Now, how can I reenter the information without starting photoshop?

I want to be cloned nothing happens.
I cloned myself three times by taking three different pictures without moving the camera. After that I took one picture and made it the "master picture." I then cut the other clones and dragged them into the "master picture." However, you can still see the lines from the light difference.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've loved and used my cloning tool for years. All of a sudden I went to apply it and it would be grainy or splattery (new word) on the edges. I changed by brush types an everything, but with no success. I even undated to the newest version of PHotoshop, but still can't get it to work.

Pixel/Cloning question: I have 2 images- one imports as 16.7%, 4000/3000 pixel dimension, 180 res, the other at 33.3%, 2400/1800 pixels and 72 res. When choosing the pixel size for the cloning brush, how does the number of pixels I choose relate to the image size that photoshop has imported your image as? If I decide to work on an image at a different %- zooming in or out, how does that affect the pixel size that I have chosen? Since the actual dimension of the pixel is variable, what criteria is photoshop using to determine the actual size of the pixel, and how does that change at different percents of zoom?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an image of blackberries.
I am using the cloning tool to clone the individual, tiny berries that make up the blackberry.
I make my selection, then left click to paste my selection, and each time I make a new left click, I get a different image of the clone I originally selected.
This happens if I am cloning on the original background image, or on a new blank layer.
If I am working on a blank layer and look at that layer without the background, the clone image is different at each pasting.
If opacity is at 100%, shouldn’t the clone look exactly alike each time I left click to paste a clone?
I've been using garment maker modifier for some time and soon the modifier is just not enabled anymore. Is not in the stack of modifiers and not in modifiers menu.
