AutoCAD Map 3D :: Saving Feature Styles
Jan 7, 2010I brought in a SHP and have pretty fancy style with a label. How on earth do you save these? The style library does not work for SHP files!

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Feature Line Styles
Oct 12, 2012Is it possible to edit feature lines join and end styles? I have some compound lines that I would like to look like piping but the option for styling them is greyed out. Just wondering if there is a way to enable these. I have tried adjusted the plot styles but to no effect.
Again this is for feature lines not normal autocad entity lines.

Apr 11, 2012We have cooridors with features such as terrace drains and flowlines, but we cant seem to get the linetypes to show up correctly. For example a flow line should have arrows but it shows up without the linetype and looks continuous.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Figure / Feature Line Styles
May 29, 2012Why are figure line styles and feature line styles not shared, or a parent / child relationship? Also, should match properties change the style of a feature line to appear to be the same style as the figure line? The style only exists in as a figure line style.
If we offset a Figure line (feature line stepped offset) we get feature line, then we match properties to a figure line that has the correct style. The prospector says the Feature line has the style of the figure line; however, if we edit the feature line properties the style is set to none.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Feature Line Styles
Nov 3, 2011I have created Road 1 and assigned Feature Line Styles in the Feature Lines tab of the Corridor Properties and it looks as I expected.
When I go to Road 2, 3 etc I have to manually assign the Feature Line Styles again, so the question is can these feature line styles be assigned via a code set or something.

Sep 18, 2013When I make changes through styles editor and try to save them, I get a window that pops up saying "Style library (C:Vault_WorkDesign Data) cannot be saved because it is damaged".

Aug 21, 2012I have files which I wish to print with particular settings - Layout > Imposition Layout = Book ; Preference > Features = Landscape. I 'Save As' these settings as Print Style 'BOOK'. When I open a new file and select 'BOOK' from the drop down menu, nothing changes. The print style remains the same as default.

Jul 6, 2011How do update the styles library to keep from getting the Styles Conflict error box. I have used the Standard.dwg file that loaded with Inventor 2012 but everytime I change styles and save the changes in a new template in reverts back to the library definitions.
I used to be able to select 'NO' in the LIbrary option of the Projects Folder but that optiion no longer exists.

Aug 8, 2012We've created a new parts list style for a border.When the border tempalt file is on the c: drive...everything works hunky dory...parts list, revision tables, etc.But as soon as we copy and paste that border into the template library folder for new drgs...the parts list style is missing from the local styles?
So to make it appear on the new document...the style manager has to be set at all styles and the new parts list style has to be saved to the document?What aren't we doing to make it appear on the template?
Also note that because the drawing border template is in a template folder as part of the design projects...it is NOT editable...so it has to be edited outside the template folder.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: GIS Data - Feature Was Not Saved In The Target Feature Source
Jun 16, 2011I have been working with some GIS data in the form of SHP files in autocad map 3D 2011. On one of my layers I have started getting "Feature was not saved in the target feature source" when I try to check in my data. In total there are 308 errors in the data table, all of which were features I deleted. They all have a featID of null and I cannot remove them from the data table. I need to fix these errors without going back and starting over.

Jul 24, 2012I am running Autodesk Map3D 2012 and I need to label my feature points no matter if they overlap or not.The Map3D documention refers to a check box that will allow what I believe I need- but I cannot find the checkbox in the style editor. Here's a clip from the Autocad documentation:

I had my automatic save set up for every 10 minutes but files were not being saved regularly. I deleted files from the Temp folder thinking it was full and now there are no .sv$ saving at all. How can I make drawings save automatically every 10 minutes?
Photoshop Elements :: Saving Revised Photos Without Saving Original?
Oct 16, 2012I have started editing photos using the Photo Fix Options in Instant Fix. I have then switched to Photo Editor to fine tune my edited picture. When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor. For some reason when I go to save after switching from Instant fix to Photo editor the uncheck feature is no longer available. step by step instructions to save revised photo afterusing Instant Fix first then Photo Editor.

I always imagined they were all based on the standard one and if I changed the standard they would all reflect these changes.

The pipes are polylines with parameters on OD Tabels.On Display Manager, i'm creating a style based on text in order to display the diameter of each pipe.So far so good. The problem is to find out how to place the text entities in a more intuitive position, that is, near the middle point of the polyline, with the correct angle.
On the "Position" and "Rotation" properties of the text style, what should i define in order tho achieve this? The ".labelpt, .Center, .X1Y1..." options do not produce the desired results.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: Cartographic Line Styles
Nov 10, 2011I am using Autodesk Map Enterprise 2012 and picking up Autodesk Map. I need to create multiple line styles for use in maps representing Clean Water and Waste Water pipe lines.
The symbols for WW make extensive use of flow arrows and shapes with different start and line end styles.
Pls refer to the attached image.
For example, --^---^---^----^---^-------> , ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++O etc. --->--- .. -------->----- .. ------->-----
Most of these shapes are offset from the alignment.
a) Is shx file the only way to create shape features that can be specified in linetype definition or can i ise blocks? If yes, are there any specific commands/utilities for it?
b) How do i specify the beginning and the end style or a line (which should not get repeated) ? It is usually a vector circle which is 1.5 M in dia or a Flag like graphic.
Using LINETYPE command i made use of acad.lin file and created a few line styles, but not sure hot to specify the start and the end style.
c) Is there any specific mapping tools available for Map 3D?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Styles Not Recognized As In Use?
May 18, 2012So I'm in the process of upgrading a project from C3D 2011 -> 2012. As a part of the upgrade process I'm doing some drawing cleanup such as purging unused layers/objects, purging regapps, deleting unused scales and finally taking advantage of the Styles Manager in 2012 and purging unused styles.
However, I'm noticing that almost all of my styles are coming up as "unused" unless they are attached to drawing settings, even though there is clearly objects in that drawing using those styles. I noticed this was happening when after running a purge my road profile lines were disappearing because the style no longer existed.
The items that have styles attached are DREF'd into the drawing and are not "live" objects in the drawing, if that makes any difference.

Feb 4, 2013We did the upgrade last week and I am trying to use the drag and drop to bring styles and description keys across. Done it many times between 10 drawings. I am opening 2 drawings-one from 10 with everything I want and one in 12 to be my template.
Problem is I am only seeing one the current drawing when I click on TOOLSPACE.

Jul 9, 2012I may not be using styles as efficiently as I should. I always seem to be creating styles to meet different circumstances. As shown below if I have any text that can have an arrow, directional or dragged state and a mask, I always end up creating more styles for times I don't want the arrow and/or the mask.
If there is a 3rd of 4th component this can multiply quickly. Am I missing an easier way to handle this or is this what is normally done?
