I just upgraded to AutoCAD LT 2012. I am having a problem with background jpg's disappearing when you pan. It comes back once you stop but it really, really annoying. I have to trace drawings off of jpg's and I have to do a lot of panning. It didn't use to do this in AutoCAD 2010. Ohh I am doing this in Model space. Is there a new setting or something that I don't know about.

I am making a banner with a picture that is right justified and the remaining part of the banner a color I pull from the photo. I am also trying to make a gradient to smooth the photo into the background.
I am able to crop and re-size the photo. I create a New Layer, color pick and fill the background and my banner looks good. I then select the gradient tool and select Transparency mode. I click on the photo and the background color disappears and starts
showing the transparency checkerboard. I create the gradient and select another tool to deactivate it. After that my background color never reappears.
So my banner has a photo that fades into a blank area.
While working in AutoCAD, Sometimes everything just disappears.
I'll be working. I move a block, or draw a line, copy something, etc.. And after I execute the command, and finish. What I just moved,copied, drawn, etc, doesn't show up. I do a _regen, and EVERYTHING in the drawing disappears. If I zoon extents, everything is gone. I can undo commands, but nothing shows back up. If I save the drawing, and reopen the file. Everything shows back up. Is there a setting I need to click or something? It's getting really annoying. It happened 6 times in the hour.
My company recently upgraded to 2013 (from 2010), and we've had nothing but problems. It's one thing after the other with this version.
I have created a custom ribbon in vb.net. And it works now.
However. To make it work i had to do a workaround because IExtensionApplication.Initialize is apparently run before the Ribbon is created in AutoCAD. To make it work i created a time that runs until the ribbon is created.
But i think this is implementation is flawed since i had to do the workaround, but also because the ribbon disappearse when the ribbon is updated. Say when the user changes something in the CUI menu.

When panning/zooming in mid-command, say while drawing a polyline and I need to pan from one side to the other to complete the line, my navigation bar disappears. Very annoying. If I change layouts, then come back, the navigation bar reappears. When I click the User Interface, under the View ribbon, the navigation bar is checked. Unchecking and rechecking causes the navigation bar to reappear. Running Autocad LT 2011.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a georeferenced drawing with aerial photos and linework that I have Xref'd in a recent survey drawing. I checked that the coordinate systems match and the xref shows that it is loaded and the layers are listed as on and thawed.
However, the xref is not visible.
I tried a new blank drawing using the Map 3D template, same coordinate system. Same thing happens. However, this time, I noticed that the xref is visible when zoomed out. When I zoom in, it disappears. Screen shot attached.
I have a drawing xrefing another drawing which has the ecw attached to it - if I change the UCS the ecw disappears.
So the image only shows when the ucs is set to WUCS - I should also note that just the image disappears I can still see the image frame.
When using Autocad 2013, the minimize, maximize, and close buttons on the right side of the title bar frequently disappears. I can make it reappear by selecting the drawing name under the window tab.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to explode a 3d block that I created from a manufacturer's horizontal mullion detail. Whenever I do that, it disappears. I tried setting it to layer 0, still disappears. I made sure all the layers were turned on and thawed. Whats weird is that I can explode the vertial mullion block and it doesn't disappear. I tried matching the vertical mullion properties to the horiz, still no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have several drawings that some times, after selecting several objects to move, and pressing space-bar to end selection, the cursor disappears. If I click for a base-point the cursor comes back but it is not where I need it for accurate placement.
I have developed a work around - I cancel command after blind pick, restart command, type P to select previous, then space-bar, then I can place accurately with cursor visible for both placement picks.

One of our other issue(s) is the z ucs rotate in a vp and the image disappears!
Im thinking its to do with a slight angle change in the x or y plane when doing a z ucs rotate making the image not on the viewing plane anymore. Using 2011 map3d but using in 2d workspace mode. All it would take is 0.000000001 degree to throw it out of wack i would imagine. When setting vp back to world and plan rotate it appears again?
Or, because its map3d and not just vanilla cad, is the whole world space set on a geoid by default(viewing plain) and when you rotate the vp ucs it throw's it out of alignment and puts it below the geoid and then looses it's visibility? This would apply to rasters imported with map/ import / ecw, tiffworld or 2jpg i assume?
When I open my profile file in civil 3d 2014 the grid disappears so I regenerate it and they are back. The problem I am having is when I run my cursor over the grid, it will give me a fatal error.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has been occurring numerous time more than it should. While in a drawing mid command, panning, typing anything pretty much my cad freezes. The rest of my computer is fine everything works properly but CAD is frozen and when i bring my pointer into the program it disappears. I can even open cad up again and the old CAD will stay open. It shows the drawings i have open on the tab bar and i can’t close out of them. I have a computer that’s more than capable to work properly.

Associative Network Evaluation Error
The object cannot be resolved or value limit has been exceeded.
Inconsistent associative objects my display geometry and grips incorrectly and update in unexpected ways when edited. You can undo to restore the associative object to its previous state.Upon receiving this message, all groups have been removed from the drawing.
All of my points vanish after I use 3dorbit, how to reproduce this? I have been able to make it happen in 2 different drawing, unless I just forgot how to search the board altogether.
My points still show up in the toolspace point list but auditing and regening does not bring them back to the drawing.
Just recently we upgraded from ACAD 2010 to 2011. Some users are still on XP and some are on Windows 7. Since we began making the jump to ACAD 2011, we have begun to notice more and more drawings popping up with blocks no longer visible that were there the day before. When you go to the block editor, the block definition is still there but all of the geometry has been blown away. The only entity that seems to be immune is an attribute. The only commonality among the various drawings this is happening too is that they are all being accessed from an XP machine. Some folks have had to spend hours restoring all the blocks that were lost and that in itself was a challenge because ACAD already saw the definition so it would continue to blow away the geometry. You could purge the block IF you could find a way to pick it and delete it.

The text is set to white/black colour 7 and the sheet layout is set to white. I have tried different text colours and I still can't see them.
As you can see from the top image I have a background mask that is set to the drawing sheet colour which is white When I double click in the text to edit it the text disappears (bottom image) as if the mask is appearing in front of the text which it shouldn't do.
The only way to be able to view the text is to switch the background mask off - but I want to avoid this as I have to keep switching it on again.
I get the same problem if inserting a new table and having to edit the cells. However here there is no way to switch the background mask off as there is no button that I can see to switch it on and off.
At no specific time when using ACAD 2012 MEP the cursor disappears. cross hairs and all. the only way to get them back is to close ACAD and open it back up.

So I type in CUI at the command line and checked the customization window and it shows the menu as being active. I had no problems in previous versions of AutoCAD.

One day, I re-open the same file and the data-connected image is gone!
I try disconnecting and deleting the image, and then try re-connecting it but all I get is an error message "There was a problem adding data to Map."
I have created a Textbox with autocomplete (suggest) in my UserControl that is put in an Autodesk.AutoCAD.Windows.PaletteSet. When I move my mouse over the dropdown list with the suggestions from autocomplete the list disappears. This makes it impossible to select a value from the list with the mouse. If I move the mouse cursor anywhere else in the usercontrol except over the dropdown list it stays open. How can this be fixed???
PS! I have added an event handler on textbox.focuslost and it is activated when I move the mouse over the dropdown list, so the textbox loses focus when this happens.
I'm having some trouble with .fbk files disappearing after I import them. I'm sure I am missing a setting somewhere but I don't know where. I have a (slightly clunky) workaround on setting things up correctly.
We went straight from LDD 08 to Civil 3d 13 so it is a bit of a learning curve.
I am trying to use Civil 3d 2013 with Trimble Link. My procedure is to download the file with trimble link and then follow the wizard from there. My .fbk imports fine, but if I need to edit anything I find that it is missing from the folder that I just imported it from.
If I copy and rename the .fbk prior to importing it I can import and edit the re-named file no problem, it just seems to be the initial import done by the wizard that deletes the file.
When I open up Inventor 2014 the Vault tab is visible in the ribbon; however, when I create a new file (of any type) the vault tab disappears from the ribbon. I can retrieve it by right clicking on the ribbon, clicking ribbon appearance and selecting reset ribbon. This fix is only temporary because if I close out Inventor and re-open it I must go through the same steps to retrieve the Vault tab in the ribbon. Any way to make it stay in the ribbon so I don't have to reset the ribbon every time?

Stationing still disappears in viewports.
Centerline alignments are in my BASE file.Got the station labeling to work correctly.Have the BASE file x-ref'd into a working IMP file (for plan & profile sheets). This is what I plot from, etc.The station labeling appears fine in modelspace in the IMP file.The station labeling disappears in viewports in paperspace in the IMP file. Will not appear even when I am in MS mode in paperspace and in the viewport itself.All the associated layers are turned on and thawed, even VP-specific settings. REGENALL does not work. Annotation scale is set to 1"=30' in all files.I always scale my border up to the plot scale in paperspace. This is a habit that goes back almost two decades in LDD.
Maybe a setting regarding plot/annotation scales is the culprit? By playing around with the buttons in the lower right corner of the screen I got them to show up once by accident then they disappeared again when I did a simple REDRAW. I do not remember how I got there, but the process was convoluted and probably not optimal or correct.I am using Civil 3D 2011, btw.

i'm having problem with array tool in acad2012. i draw a line, type array and hit enter. i put everything normally and hit enter when it says Enter to accept. then the line and arrayed object disappears. i don't know what's wrong with it. layers and everything is just as usual.
i did some other arrays in the same file before and they are working with no problem.
It has happened repeatedly, but on different occasions, that the close file X that should be in the top right position of the drawing has vanished. In other drawings that are open at the same time the X in present...Switching between drawings often brings the X back, but this is a weird bug that was not present before the 2012 release.
win 7 IV 2012 suite + Vault
So I have a 3D sketch. As you can see in the image attached, there are circles on a 2D plane that are attached to circles on another 2D plane via all the purple lines. My goal is to do a sweep for each of the circles so that I can get a bunch of holes. However, after I do the first sweep, the sketch disappears (see pic 2) and I do not know how to go back to the sketch so I can sweep again and again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen dimensioning views on idw my line weights disappear on the view I am dimensioning. The Display Line Weights check box stays checked during this.
The only way to get them to display correctly is to select a line in the view and right click select properties and hit OK.
