Configuring plotter/printer on newly upgraded laptop using Autocad LT 2007 with Win7. The printers that are re-installed are not available under that program.
View 8 RepliesSo we have a new plotter at work, and I am trying to use it with the publish command. However, because all of our old drawings are saved with our old plotter name, choosing the new plotter isn't an option for all of our old dwgs that havent been set up using the new plotter name. Since our dwgs number in the 1000s, going through each one and renaming them would be impracticable.. but having to individually plot each one is pretty impracticable as well..
So I tried to figure out a workaround, by opening up our new template that has the new plotter configuration on it, hoping I would be able to use it to set all the old dwgs that I have open at the time to the new plot setting.. but the printer name comes up as something different when I try to use it for publish, and if I use it, I get an error and nothing prints. I know the settings used in the new template work, I have been able to print it out. So what I'm asking is, is there anyway I can use the new plotter to publish all of our old drawings?
Since we've migrated to Windows 8 64b we have problems wih plotting some layouts. If I select my plotter it automatically goes to none after selecting and sometimes I get the following error message:
Most of the times I can use the plotter in the other layouts / drawings, but sometimes I have to restart AutoCAD or reboot the computer before the plotter works again. In some layouts we keep getting this problem even after reboot. I've tried reinstalling the plotter (with different drivers), tried different computers, purge and recover the drawings but no luck. The Plotter is a HP Designjet 800.
Whenever I attempt to print, I get the warning message below referring to a printer that I do not have. I presume it's an AutoCAD default setting, but I cannot find any place allowing me to change this default. It eventually prints, since as the warning message says, it then substitutes my Mac's default printer, Is there any way to change the AutoCAD setting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the process of releasing 2013 to the office. We have about 60 machines being loaded, varying from 64-bit Win 7, 32-bit Win 7 and 32-bit Win XP. I have gone through and created new PC3 files for our two KIP printers (3000 & 7000 series). I added one custom page size to each to create a PMP that goes along with them. These files have been placed onto a network folder for all users to access. This is where my confusion begins.
When other users go to utilize these files it is giving an error stating that "the plotter configuration cannot be found, driver cannot be found, device cannot be found, yada yada. The none has been substituted."
So we began to look at the PC3 files and see what the issues are. When the same file on the Server is copied down to a local machine it changes back to a KIP10 driver down from a KIP11 driver on the network. Make Sense?
In order to fix I began running the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on the local machine. Created a new PC3 wiih a different name and went back into the program. Now the PC3's that did not work before WORK.
In short, since the 2013 version has a new file format do we have to run the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on all local machines before the standard PC3 file will work effectively? Or does having 2011 version still on the machines have an effect on these files?

What are the differences between a Plotter and Printer?
I need to set the Printer Configuration Search Path and the Plot Style Table Search Path. Currently I am using COM but the issue I have is that I need to run the same application on 2 different machines, one has only Autocad 2010 (xp-32bit), the other has both Autocad 2010 and Autocad 2012(win7-64bit) and I've got some difficulty to have it running.
Can I set those paths without using COM?
My printer/plotter selections are missing.
I used to be able to select 2 separate printers and a PDF'ing option but all of a sudden they are missing?
The printers are connected via a network, are visible and usable in Windows and I can print to them from other software packages (word, outlook, etc).
I was away for a week and when I came back they were missing from Autocad (2011LT version 3).
The machine is a dell Precision T5500, Intel Xeon E5507, 4 GB RAM

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed AutoCAD LT 2007 on a new computer running Windws 7 64 bit. I've been able to modify/customize everything except my .pgp files.
I've found them under C:/Program Files (x86)/AutoCAD LT 2007/User Data Cache/Support/acadlt. Once I've gone through and made my changes, and attempt to "X" out of the dialog box, I'm prompted to "Save" changes. I choose "Save" and am then told the "acadlt.pgp already exists. Would you like to replace it?". I select "Yes", and am then told "Access Denied"...with none of my changes being saved.
I've learned about an "unsanctioned" workaround...running a "run as XP" patch, but I'm having trouble finding out details/feasability of this solution. Additionally, I'm curious if I go this route, will all my programs now run as if on XP?
I have a roland dx1100 plotter which I use for practicing plotting in autocad lt 2000i. I need to find a driver that will run in window 7. I found one from Roland that will run in windows xp.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCoworker is setting up a new Win7 (64bit) machine but we don't have the ability to upgrade CAD at this time. So running AutoCAD Mechanical 2007. (Yes we know they don't always play nice) Two other workstations here are running the same OS & CAD and print without issues. This new machine AutoCAD does not see any system printers. Have made sure the "Hide System Printers" is not checked under options. I can add a plotter file for each system printer and that workaround is OK, but why this one machine can't see the system printers. They are Xerox workstations on the network - not local. We have already restarted AutoCAD and restarted the PC.

After reading a lot of material on the web, about using a few physical hard drives for using Photoshop CS5 (I am working on lrage files, 300-800MB), I am wondering if my current conifguration with only 1 HD (1TB) is "strong" enough for my needs ?
How many partitions and size should I prepare when setting my PC ?

How do I get the built-in PDF plotter quality up to my adobe pdf plotter. I want to do use publisher and make mulitple page pdf's and as I understand it I have to use the built-in plotter to do it. As of right now I have to sperate pages with adobe and then combie them to make a single pdf.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen printing, if I select "Printer manages colors", and then go to the print settings ==> when exiting the print settings, Photoshop CS5 waits 1 or 2 seconds, and reverts to "Photoshop manages colors".
This happens with all the printers connected to this 64 bits Windows7 machine : Epson Stylus Pro 3880, HP Photosmart 9180, and a small HP all-in-one.
Windows, Photoshop, and the drivers are all up to date and fully patched.
Using CS5 windows won't print all the graphics of the file, even to a PS printer. Some of the graphics don't print at all and some print in a reverse color.

I'm trying to install Epilog Laser drivers on a new Win8 laptop, and somehow I have duplicate copies of the same "printer/laser engraver." I'm starting the driver instalation over, and want to remove the duplicate printers in CorelDraw. I've cleaned out all printers in control panel/devices and printers, as well as print drivers. But the duplicate printers remain in Corel X6. I've looked in each Corel folder on my computer it seems, and can't locate it. Would it by chance be a registy file I need to edit

I can not open CAD LT 2007 at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still will not open. When I try to open existing files. I get an error message stating that the file can not be found or the file name is misspelled. I have run this very program for many years with out any problems. Now I can not acsess if in any way.
