Whenever I attempt to print, I get the warning message below referring to a printer that I do not have. Â I presume it's an AutoCAD default setting, but I cannot find any place allowing me to change this default. Â It eventually prints, since as the warning message says, it then substitutes my Mac's default printer, Is there any way to change the AutoCAD setting.
View 2 RepliesSo we have a new plotter at work, and I am trying to use it with the publish command. However, because all of our old drawings are saved with our old plotter name, choosing the new plotter isn't an option for all of our old dwgs that havent been set up using the new plotter name. Since our dwgs number in the 1000s, going through each one and renaming them would be impracticable.. but having to individually plot each one is pretty impracticable as well..
So I tried to figure out a workaround, by opening up our new template that has the new plotter configuration on it, hoping I would be able to use it to set all the old dwgs that I have open at the time to the new plot setting.. but the printer name comes up as something different when I try to use it for publish, and if I use it, I get an error and nothing prints. I know the settings used in the new template work, I have been able to print it out. So what I'm asking is, is there anyway I can use the new plotter to publish all of our old drawings?
Since we've migrated to Windows 8 64b we have problems wih plotting some layouts. If I select my plotter it automatically goes to none after selecting and sometimes I get the following error message:
Most of the times I can use the plotter in the other layouts / drawings, but sometimes I have to restart AutoCAD or reboot the computer before the plotter works again. In some layouts we keep getting this problem even after reboot. I've tried reinstalling the plotter (with different drivers), tried different computers, purge and recover the drawings but no luck. The Plotter is a HP Designjet 800.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the process of releasing 2013 to the office. We have about 60 machines being loaded, varying from 64-bit Win 7, 32-bit Win 7 and 32-bit Win XP. I have gone through and created new PC3 files for our two KIP printers (3000 & 7000 series). I added one custom page size to each to create a PMP that goes along with them. These files have been placed onto a network folder for all users to access. This is where my confusion begins.
When other users go to utilize these files it is giving an error stating that "the plotter configuration cannot be found, driver cannot be found, device cannot be found, yada yada. The none has been substituted."
So we began to look at the PC3 files and see what the issues are. When the same file on the Server is copied down to a local machine it changes back to a KIP10 driver down from a KIP11 driver on the network. Make Sense?
In order to fix I began running the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on the local machine. Created a new PC3 wiih a different name and went back into the program. Now the PC3's that did not work before WORK.
In short, since the 2013 version has a new file format do we have to run the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on all local machines before the standard PC3 file will work effectively? Or does having 2011 version still on the machines have an effect on these files?

Application failed to start because side by side configuration is incorrect see event log for further details. This is a "fresh" computer with vista, but since it ran okay a few days, I don't think that is a factor. I am not running another version on it, though I did intall this upgrade without first putting my 2006 on it, but if that was the case, why did it run a few days? How do I access the event log?

I am missing Visual C++ runtime files, but I installed VC++ runtime files 2005, 2008 and 2010 both x64 and x86. Didn't work.

I am trying to set default plotter and plot style so I dont have to select every time but AutoCAD is not keeping the setting. I went to "Options", "Plot & Publish" and selected my plotter I want to be default but it's not keeping that setting. Here in my office we have several pc's running Inventor 2012 and we found out that when a network license is unavailable (the number of licenses is exceeded) then Inventor loses some of its configurations on OPTION window. The fields that are erased and put back to default:
- "General"Â Tab >> "Load VBA on start-up" is set to false;
-Â "General"Â Tab >>Â "Update physical properties on save" is set to false and "Parts and Assemblies" is unchecked;
-Â "File"Â Tab >>Â "Default VBA project" is set back to default;
- "Contet Center" Tab >> "Location of Libraries" is set to default
- Customized buttons on Ribbonbar loses its icons and we have to recreate them everytime it happens.

I've recently installed CS4 on my new Vista machine. After setting up my Wacom tablet, installing all the appropriate software I find Photoshop is not responding to me pen sensitivity as it has on my previous machine (Mac with CS1). Specifically I'm thinking the default brushes are incorrect, specifically I use the hard brush that by default should go from small - large- small. Thinking I was missing a setting I compared both side by side and sure enough my settings for default brushes are the same on both machines but I'm not getting the dynamic brush that I had on my Mac. Below is a screen shot I found online of what i'd like to have in my setup. in yellow is where I'd like to get to but at the bottom of the image is where I'm at currently. Any help would be appreciated. I just know the solution is going to be so simple that I'll bang my head on the desk when I get it.

I can not add any plotter, i try but i can. I open File>Plotter Manager but when i click on plotter manager it opens My Files.
I think there are some missing part for these. I have the same problem with revit 2013 while try to open a new file cause on there also there are some missing files about family.
I have a new macbook and no printer. Id like to set up my print settings to plot to pdf and choose the correct paper sizes and utilize my line type print settings. I am using auto cad 2013 and see i can create a pdf but it doesn't allow my set my plotter up as a pdf.
View 3 Replies View Relatedusing a plotter on a network. I moved all my plot styles to a folder on the network where everyone can use them and pointed the path on each station. My only problem now is that each station seems to have the drivers ect.. for the plotter on stand alone stations. What happens if I open a dwg on my station and then close it and go to another station I get warning that drivers are not found,the device can not be found. Do I need to copy the driver and device folders to the network and have the settings on each PC point to that folder.

I'm trying to copy plot files to a plotter with filecopy(plotfile,\serverplottername) it works fine when I have the UNC address but there are network printers without this address that I need to copy files too.
