Where is the configuration for the Default Template Measurement units stored? Have tried creating an application options file, but on the clients this setting is not read/stored (still set to inches after import).
Is this setting stored in the registry? Where?

why it seems that Revit ignores the Project Units setting in the template file when opening an IFC file? Even when the template is targeted in the IFC open dialogue?
The IFC was exported from ACA 2008 with the Imperial units set.After opening the IFC file in Revit 2012, the project is set for Metric, even though the referenced template (.rte) is set up with Imperial.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere in my office we have several pc's running Inventor 2012 and we found out that when a network license is unavailable (the number of licenses is exceeded) then Inventor loses some of its configurations on OPTION window. The fields that are erased and put back to default:
- "General" Tab >> "Load VBA on start-up" is set to false;
- "General" Tab >> "Update physical properties on save" is set to false and "Parts and Assemblies" is unchecked;
- "File" Tab >> "Default VBA project" is set back to default;
- "Contet Center" Tab >> "Location of Libraries" is set to default
- Customized buttons on Ribbonbar loses its icons and we have to recreate them everytime it happens.
have a fix and a new implementation for the new versions to come?
Our school rercently updated to Inventor 2014, When working starting a new assembly we seslect the standard mm ipt icon, however as soon as you create a new compont it defaults to inches, we can change the units using styles editor, but this only changes this componont when you create another part it also defaults to inches.
Can you change the setup so that it will always be in mm.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do the following:
set my units to inches so I can enter dimensions in inches and see them displayed in inches.
how to change default units to metric for inventor2013? Now I have them set as imperial.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to do a make components I get this error "Could not open default template file." All the Standard.xxx files are the designated folder and named appropriately. Plus I just used this command earlier today. I did do a "rebuild all" but I'm not 100% sure the problem came directly after that.

We have a problem whereby our Templates revert back to a Default state. This is totally random.
One operator can create a drawing with the correct template loading up, and seconds later another operator will report that an old 'Inventor' default template has loaded up. On investigation it appears all templates marked as "standard" revert back to older versions.
I have made the Templates read only, but the problem still persists.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have changed my template using the styles library. For some reason Inventor 2013 will not let me save my new settings as a default in my newly created template. Instead it gives me an error message that reads:
" The following style definitions in template ....... differ from the definitions in the style library; the style library will be used.
Part listart list (ANSI), Revision Table: Revision Table (ANSI)
If the style definitions in the style library are intended for the new document, update the template with the new style definitions. If the style definition in the template are intended for the new document, remove these styles from your style library using the Style Library Manager."

If I create a precast stair in default template I get "end with riser" turned on automaticaly. If I copy that stair to my template and create new stair, "end with riser" is turned off and I manually have to adjust stair afterwards.
Problem is "end with riser" is now an instance parameter of stairs and I can't find where to change the default value.
Why is the stair type that works in default template stuffed when copied to my template?
This is probably a basic question, but in the control panel area, where it shows the measurements of an object created, the default measurement is in inches. Can I change that to display milmeters? I am aware that it can be changed in the rulers, but up where it says X, Y, then width and height, it shows inches. I want to view it in milimeters, because I am doing a project in milimeters. View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on AutoCAD 2014 and every time I receive and open a new file from our collaborators in Italy, the file units "turn into" inches.
This means that I have to go to Drawing Utilities, Change the units to cm, and then have to Scale everything so that the measurements make sense again.
I've gone into OPTIONS and have set CM as thed default measurements, but this problem persists. I know that the office in Italy can't possibly be working in inches, so I'm assuming there's something that's "lost in translation" when it comes to opening the file on my end.
I have a query on the units for Autocad, every time i start Autocad up it defaults to inches, i have to change the units manually to mm using in units. is there a way to set this that i don't have to keep doing this?

I work with a land surveying package. I use both AutoCAD 2006 and R14. When I export a cad dwg from the survey software and open it in R14 my drawing units are as I want them E.G Direction Control = North = 270 and should be set to clockwise. If I open the same exported drawing but in 2006 the settings change. If I create a new drawing in 2006, the settings are as I want them.
So that when AutoCAD starts up, a new .dwg file is started, using my specified dwt. file as a template.
