I am having problems setting up one computers plot configuration to a networked plotter in the work station. With the other computers we were able to just add the plotter of choice and it would show up in the config. This one, however doesn't seem to work. We can print test pages to it and plot with other programs. Only AutoCAD doesn't see it. We've gone into plot options to see if the settings were any different from one computer to the next and they are all the same.

In the process of releasing 2013 to the office. We have about 60 machines being loaded, varying from 64-bit Win 7, 32-bit Win 7 and 32-bit Win XP. I have gone through and created new PC3 files for our two KIP printers (3000 & 7000 series). I added one custom page size to each to create a PMP that goes along with them. These files have been placed onto a network folder for all users to access. This is where my confusion begins.
When other users go to utilize these files it is giving an error stating that "the plotter configuration cannot be found, driver cannot be found, device cannot be found, yada yada. The none has been substituted."
So we began to look at the PC3 files and see what the issues are. When the same file on the Server is copied down to a local machine it changes back to a KIP10 driver down from a KIP11 driver on the network. Make Sense?
In order to fix I began running the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on the local machine. Created a new PC3 wiih a different name and went back into the program. Now the PC3's that did not work before WORK.
In short, since the 2013 version has a new file format do we have to run the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on all local machines before the standard PC3 file will work effectively? Or does having 2011 version still on the machines have an effect on these files?

I have an assembly that is identical to another assembly with the exception of 2 or 3 components. I want to create 2 different configurations of the assembly, e.g. 12345-009 for the original assy and 12345-019 for the similar assy that has a couple of different components and/or additional components. I can create the -009 assembly and then do a "Save As" for the -019 assy and do a "Component/Replace" and add (or delete) other components.
I want both of these assemblies to be on the same drawing with a base number of 12345. I know I can do this and create a separate parts list (BOM) for each configuration and put it on the drawing. Is there a way to "merge" the two PLs so that there is a quantity column for each configuration (-009 and -019)? For example, if the same gear is used in both assemblies, I want a quantity of 1 in each column. If a component is used in one but not the other, i want only the quantity to show up in the appropriate configuration column.
I am using Inventor 2011.

I've written a program that prints the drawings from an assembly. For this print to work, I have to have the drawing open (I've tried printing using the option Set doc = ThisApplication.Documents.Open(DWGName, False) but the print manager will just skip over a file that isn't open.
When I change the code to "True" Inventor wants to know if i want to check out the drawing from vault and this requires user input. Is there a way i can bypass this user input or automate an answer so the user doesn't have to constantly be clicking when batching drawings?

Ive written a program in Inventor that finds all the drawings associated with a part/assembly.
it is supposed to find and open the selected drawings invisibly but for some reason the print manager wont work unless the drawing is opened and the drawing is active. In order to make the program work I have to open each drawing then close them. every time the user must input for save changes, and checking out (which is not necessary and takes forever).
Is there a way I can print without opening the drawing and making it active?
in the attached file, Ln 49-63
'Activate the selected document
Set doc = ThisApplication.Documents.Open(Archive, False)
' The only way to make it work is to change this value to True. this sends up all sorts of pop up windows.
Set osheets = doc.Sheets
For X = 1 To osheets.Count
size = osheets.item(X).size
[Code]....

Why plotting the drawing in pdf file produces a NOT to scale drawing?
I’m wondering if there is a way to print the drawing in a pdf file such that the drawing scale is kept correct.
For example, I tried to print the drawing shown in the screenshot in 1/100 scale using the Adobe pdf printer, but later, as I printed the pdf file, the printed drawing is not to scale!
Why the pdf file doesn’t keep the scale?
Is there a way to “preserve” the scale while printing the drawing in a pdf file?

Scale in Layout. I drew my drawing in mm , and I want to use Layout to print it like I saw in a video, but how do I scale my drawing? For example, the counter and shelf I drew is 1:1 in the Model workspace(1600 by 2000mm) but in Layout, for printing on to an A3 sized paper how do I get it to print in 1:40 or something of that sort?
Right now I'm printing by using Fit To Paper with the dimensions included, but I notice our contractors are using 1:30, 1:40 etc. , my boss doesn't mind since I include the dimensions but I reckon it might cause problems in the future.
And is it possible to just select anything in my selection window, even 3/4 of a line? Because right now, I can only select the whole line no matter what, I only want 1/2 of it because I want to cut the whole drawing in half and move it apart.
By the way, is it possible to customize the panel? Instead of switching between tabs constantly, can I make my own panel? I googled this and tried using CUI but it is confusing. I just want certain sections grouped into 1 bar. Like... Draw/Modify/Attach/Windows all on the first panel.
I really want to be able to type in certain commands without hitting Enter, is that possible? If I hit M, it will move the object without me hitting Enter. Can that be done? Maybe not M, maybe Alt+1 to move, Alt+2 to Scale etc. etc.

One of the drafters I work with has been having an intermittent problem with Inventor 14 deleting dimensions and notes when he prints a .idw to a .pdf. The problem first popped up when we transitioned to 14 from 12. It only happens once out of every 2 dozen or so prints and is usually caught on the redlines, but it has been overlooked once already requiring the part to be remachined at cost to our employer. No one else in our office has had the problem and it continued to happen after a reinstall; which leads me to think it's some hardware issue.
Included is a screenshot of his system information. We're running Synergis Adept file management software, that may be pertinent as well.

I created a program for conversion, which converts layers and dimensions, among other things. My program runs on AutoCad 2012, had no problem with regards to AutoCad 2012. The problem is when I try to print by opening the drawing in AutoCad 2008. The preview is blank. Does some configuration that possibly I changed or I forgot to change so that it is correct?
The drawing (before) prints in AutoCad2008.
The drawing (after) doesn't print in AutoCad 2008.

What do you use to Print your large Sheetsets ? Do you use the Publish function within AutoCad ?
Do you use Acroplot or any other 3rd party software ?
I had to print around 80-100 Plan and Profiles Sheets, Sections, Coverpage, Index, Legend, etc.

when I try and plot drawings from autocad I only get half the drawing, sometimes just a strip of blank paper. This is for standard A0 drawings and custom oversized drawings. Plot preview is fine, the same drawings can be plotted by my 2 collegues. We all have the same computer specs, same program, same drivers, as a department we had new computers about 3 months ago. We use 2013LT. I can plot the drawings but it means using True View to open and plot the drawings (same computer, same drivers, but it works) I repeatedly asked our IT department and finally got them to look at the computer, the answer was "yeah, your right it doesn't work".

I want to print multiple drawing in a single layout (see picture) . It is possible in autocad to setup printing once? For example: One project contains 100 A3 drawing, one layout contains 20 A3 drawing. Up to now, i print to pdf separately, and i combined the 100 pdf in one file.
And i print from this file. (only in this way succeed to print collating multiple copies). But if the project changes, I could start all over again. Is there a solution to publish an combining the sheets to print immediately?

Im having an issue with drawings plotting too light in AutoCAD 2013. Polylines with a specified thickness of 1/32" will print dark, but the rest of the drawing is almost unreadable because it is too light. "Plot with Plotstyles" is selected
I can use 2009 to print, which is also installed on my machine, and the drawing will print as intended.Using the same plot style, same settings in both.

My issue is this: While trying to print or pdf a drawing in (lets say 8.5x11) layout view, the edges get cut off. It looks as though the template I copied is too large to be printed in full. If this were the case, wouldn't it be the same even if I tried printing in extents? It still does the same thing printing in extents.
I am using Mechanical 2012.

Strange issue when printing a drawing. For some reason whenever I send this drawing to print the 'squared' symbols get replaced with either some overlapping numbers or the letter E.
Unfortunately I can't take a photo of the result but I'll provide an image of what I'm trying to print.
Plotting as a .pdf works fine (print preview also looks fine) and is the current work-around but it would be good to get a proper solution because it's likely these will be printed again from AC in the future and we'll forget and the client will get a stodgy drawing and I'll be sad.

How to get only part of the drawing to show up to print. I've drawn a floor plan and have copied it several times. I have also drawn several patterns that represent a few different floor tile layouts and then put them over each floor plan and after some trimming I have a variety of options that someone can choose from for floor tile layout. I'd like to show each one on a separate sheet and of course when I go to layout the whole drawing comes over and how to only show one floor plan at a time.

I am trying to place a black background on a drawing so once it is printed it will be easier to read. I place a solid hatch in a boundary and use the DRAWORDER command to place in underneath everything else, but when I plot the dwg to pdf the black hatch comes out grey in the pdf (see attached pdf)
Is there an alternative that I can use to add a black background to a dwg?

I can't print my drawings in PDF with format A2, A1, A0 in landscape with good orientation (A3 is ok). The attachment file "ScreenShot-A1" is the only correct pdf but oriented in portrait.
If I print with landscape orientation (preview on Autocad is good), I get the pdf file "Document-A1".
Note: We can't use DwgToPdf due to problem lines which disappeared or moved with different versions of Adobe Reader.
My company imposed PdfCreator V1.2.2.
