View 5 RepliesUsing AutoCad 2009LT and when I create a PDF in CutePDF Writer, I set everything for the size (arch D) or 22" x 36", extents or window, fit to paper, landscape, black and white, monochrome, etc and the preview cuts the thing in half.
The only way I can get the full drawing in the preview and when I open the PDF in Adobe Reader is to set the "Plot Upside-down" to "ON" in the drawing orientation.
This also turns the image so it doesn't open as landscsape, when you open in Adobe Reader, then have to rotate it.
Receive a lot of plans from other guys. I can watch them but when I want to plot I have to change the plotter for every layout. Isn't it possible to change the plotter of ALL layouts in one command? That would be easy!

Would a Hp printer be sufficient,or is a Plotter more suited to the task.
What are the differences between a Plotter and Printer?
My printer/plotter selections are missing.
I used to be able to select 2 separate printers and a PDF'ing option but all of a sudden they are missing?
The printers are connected via a network, are visible and usable in Windows and I can print to them from other software packages (word, outlook, etc).
I was away for a week and when I came back they were missing from Autocad (2011LT version 3).
The machine is a dell Precision T5500, Intel Xeon E5507, 4 GB RAM

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy autocad always starts up with 2 layout tabs available on the drawing. In the template that I have created only one layout tab is available and if I create a new drawing according to that template after startup, only one layout tab is available. The template that I have created is set as the basic template for autocad, so it starts up using this template.
Now I want autocad to startup with only one layout tab available.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a new printer/plotter in our office and Autocad cannot find the old one and so I have to select the new one. Here's the scoop:
When I am in the layout tab, everything is perfectly aligned in my layout sheet (24 x 36) and so I type plot and before the dialogue screen appears (We just got a new plotter) Autocad says: "such and such printer: This plotter config. cannot be used for blah blah blah.... The None plot device has been substituted." Which makes sense because that such and such printer is non existent. So i click ok. and the usual plot dialogue screen displays.
I select our new plotter and the exact size of my layout sheet (24 x 36) and click apply to layout and then preview it and it shows the layout cutting off my titleblock on the right hand side. So I cancel the plot (having applied the new printer and 24 x 36 config.) and look at my layout and either my layout sheet or my linework has shifted about 3/4" up and 3/4" to the side.
Why did something shift? My layout sheet was already aligned and at 24 x 36. I don't want to have to move it every time especially if I need to print off older drawings which are set up with the non existent printer. Should I or could I make autocad ignore the old printer and tell it to recognize the new one so I wont ask me every time i open an older drawing?
how to change the printer associated with PSP or add another printer? I have 2 printers installed on Windows7 but the only one I get when I try to print from PSP is the wide format printer & no option to add another. Is printing from Windows Photo Viewer my only option?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble using the publish command when I set the plotter to a 22x34 sheet. We are able to print to an actual plotter just fine at that size, but when we try and make a pdf set at that size, it just errors out.
The error I get is
"ERROR: The current device does not support the requested media size."
I notice that whenever I plot with DWG to PDF.pc3 the filename for the PDF always comes out as:
(.dwg file name)-(paper space name).pdf
Is there any way to change the inputs for this? Let's say for example I wanted AutoCAD to automatically insert a timestamp at the end for me, so that the filename is always:
(.dwg file name)-(paper space name)-(date and time here).pdf
This would keep me better organized and also make it easier for my less computer savvy coworkers to go through old drawings and see changes between drawings. I know I could type it by hand every single time, but why do that if there's a way to have AutoCAD do it for me
I use illustrator for several things. So i really need to use shortcut's.But there is one big problem : I have the english version of illustrator and i have a German keyboard layout. An example :
To blank a shape u use '/' ( English Version )
To blank a shape u use '#' (German Version )
I can't use '/' cause i have to press shift+/ ... I dont know its not working.Can i change the "Shortcut-Layout" and use the German layout ?
I have multiple layout pages (58 pages) and would like to print them in a printer at once. How do I do that?
Currently, I open 1 layout at a time then print it 1 by 1, in which its killing me specially if I do have lots of drawings.
Publish does saving in DWF, PDF... But does not print in the printer.
How to get a tangent bearing or radial bearing to show up in the legal description writer? All I can get are their opposites. Is there some code that I can add that will swap their direction (say NE for a SW)?
The convention out here (OR/WA) is to show a radial bearing (from the PC to the radius point) or a tangent bearing (into the beginning of a curve) for any non-tangent curves. So far, I haven't been able to figure out how to do this automatically.
Also, any good guide or list of variables for using the Parcel Reporting for legal descriptions in c3d? I really want to know what ALL the different pieces of data are that I can use in the legal writer, and how to manipulate them.
I have done a drawing, and when I try to plot..The printer dialog doesn´t accept any of my installed printers.I have, for example an HP p1102, and when I select it as the printer device, de combo box closes and the selection is automatically changed to "none".
I have searched this issue in the Group, but I haven't seen any post talking about it.
We have a drawing with 100 tabs,
How can we change the printer on all tabs at one time. Example: All tabs are now for printer 78 but we need them to print on printer 77.
This was working in 2010 but does not work in 2014.

Is there any way to prevent the DWG > PDF printer driver from exporting out the layers in the drawing. I want to issue PDF's to different people but I don't want them to accidently freeze or turn off layers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you have had the issue with blue plotting purple with HP printers I discovered that its with the quality you set your printer at. If you plot draft or preview your blue will plot purple or a shade of purple. When I switched the quality to normal it fixed the issue. I called HP about the issue before I discovered this and they said update your drivers which mine were already.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an office with 3 network printers and 18 computers with Windows XP and AutoCAD + Revit 2010 installed. I never had issues related to printers I couldn't solve myself, but this time one of the machines decided not to allow me to use a specific printer (HP Designjet 70). When I select it, it quickly change the selected printer to "None". Its the only computer in the office with the issue, and I can't find out why. I already reinstalled the printer in many ways, even using other sharing paths, its useless. I imported AutoCAD settings from other machines, no use. Cleaned print spooler folder, reseted many settings to default, set it to off-line then on-line again, deleted useless PC3 files and everything that occurred to me, but still nothing changed it. The AutoCAD doesnt emmit errors, nothing, just refuse to accept the printer.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created the code to print out the pages from a drawing using Ilogic and the Print Manager. However, I cannot get the ilogic code via the Print Manager to change either the orientation OR the paper size to suit the print out.
For example, If I have an A3 drawing i can create the Ilogic code for the Print Manager to select the page size of A3 (kPaperSizeA3) within the code, but when I run the code the printer will ONLY select the Default of A4 paper.
The A3 paper is in a different tray but I cannot get the Print Manager to Select the A3 Paper. The printer we are having this issue with is a HP LaserJet 5200...We are also having the same problem of Printing out 1:1 Scale drawing to an A0 Plotter. I cannot get the Print Manager to change the Output Page Size either.
This is for a HP DesignJet 430...I have just tried to use the iLogic Snippet for Printing, and if you change the page size to suit A3 (kPaperSizeA3), the printer asks for a paper size of 312mm x 210mm.... This was with the HP LaserJet 5200.
how to get the Printer output paper size changed through the Print Manager.
My office is running into a printing issue, when different people are plotting off the same drawing file.
I've checked the .CTB file, all of us are using the same file, all .CTB parameters are identical, and no line weights have been set up within the layers, all are set to default, and no transparency has been used.
One man prints the file from AutoCAD2013, on a Windows 7-32bit computer, to our HP Laser Jet 8150N and his drawing comes out light.
I print the same drawing file from AutoCAD2012, on a Windows 7-32bit computer to the same printer with the same .CTB file and my drawing file prints dark. Much darker than his does.
We're having the same issue with other computers here in the office all printing to the same printer using exactly the same .CTB file. I've checked all the versions of Windows, and we're all using Windows 7 32-bit.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe we have different graphics cards as the computers have been purchased at different times.
I have one user that when trying to print to a color laser jet printer it only comes out in color. I even set the Plot style to monochrome.stb, (which is a network file that others use without issue) have Plot with plot styles checked, and even tried checking the black and white only in the printer properties. This is Autocad 2012.
Is there something I am missing to have the print out come out in black and white? Te print preview shows it in color.
Forgot to mention, if another user opens the drawing, it prints in black and white ok.
i'm trying to edit a Catalog (PDF format) which i generated using a Report Writer.

I have a layout with four viewports in different scales.
When I select one viewport and turn a layer off, all the others viewports turns the same layer off.
Thesame happens when I turn on/off the Freese-button.
