how to change the printer associated with PSP or add another printer? I have 2 printers installed on Windows7 but the only one I get when I try to print from PSP is the wide format printer & no option to add another. Is printing from Windows Photo Viewer my only option?
I've been crashing (fatal error, unhandled access violation) a LOT lately, and it happens when I'm changing between tabs - both between layout tabs and from layout to model. I have a brand new computer and a recent install of AutoCAD, which I also ran the repair routine on recently to try to fix the crashing issue. This happened with my old computer as well, and our IT people thought maybe it was too old to handle AC 2013 (old one was about 7 years old), so now I'm running an HP Compaq Elite 8300, Win 7 OS, with an Intel i5-3470 CPU at 3.2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA NVS 300 graphics card. And it still crashes.
I'm using files that were created on my old CAD station, which ran AutoCAD 2008 LT, and it started crashing on me - I suppose it's possible that one or more of those files got corrupted and that's what's causing this. It's crashed three times in the last three days, and probably a total of 10 - 15 times since my new computer came in late last month, and I'm getting pretty tired of it.
I just down loaded the new autocad 2014 yesterday and I have no ribbon. If I go to tools - palettes - ribbon, an area where the ribbon should be opens up with the message "the ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded".
If some poor soul decided they didn't want/need them taking up screen real estate, how would said individual permanently disable them?
Tools > Option > Display > Display Drawing Tabs (FILETABCLOSE) works fine for the session, but it's not being remembered between sessions. How to make it leave and never come back.
Restore my Model and Layout Tabs at the bottom of the Drawing area. I went to Options/Display Tab, and under the pannel of "Layouts elements" the box of "Display Layout and Model Tabs" is checked, yet, I can't witness this diplayed. Even if I have to toggle something to make it hidden and displayed, where is the place for that? See the pictures of my settings and the Drawing area.
How I can edit the attached 3D drawing without drawing it from scratch. I want to increase the outside 4 tabs from .030" to ,050". I want to move the 2 inside lips .040 up. Drawing attached.
Why autocad always starts up with 2 layout tabs available on the drawing. In the template that I have created only one layout tab is available and if I create a new drawing according to that template after startup, only one layout tab is available. The template that I have created is set as the basic template for autocad, so it starts up using this template.
Now I want autocad to startup with only one layout tab available.
I get several dwg's a day with up to 40 layouts in each one. All the settings are correct ACCEPT the plotter. Is there a way to set all page setups for all layouts at the same time? Something like select all layouts and do a page setup for all. Possibly with LISP or VBA?
I am having a problem with AutoCAd LT 2014 incorrectly locating mouse clicks with respect to the change page layout arrows. In order to reproduce this error you must have enough page layouts in a drawing to highlight the arrows (bottom left) which change the layout tab. Clicking on the right (or left) arrow several times consecutively will be incorrectly identified by AutoCad as a double click on the 1st page layout visible and will execute the rename feature. However the mouse pointer is not over that layout tab, it is clearly over the right arrow.
Why does AutoCAD read a clicks in this area incorrectly and register them instead nearly 30 pixels to the right.
Any work around as I commonly use the arrows to cycle through pagelayouts in drawings which have 50+ page layouts.
I have also noticed that AutoCAD will preview page layouts when hovering the mouse over the page layout change arrows, this reinforces the belief that AutoCAd is not correctly identifying the mouse position in that area.
When opening some drawing in Autocad 2014 it automatically creates thousands of layout out tabs which need to be deleted. This causes a huge problem while batch plotting.
My group and I are getting an infrequent but annoying problem with Model Documentation (MD) generated views in paperspace layout tabs. We all on autocad 2013, with sp1.1 installed on x64 machines.
We are seeing objects/ blocks showing in the MD views (viewbase created) in the layout that are no longer in model space. One common factor in this is that these objects seem to always be externally referenced (xref) files that have been either unloaded or completely detached (both cases purges preformed afterwards to wipe any remaining blocks made no difference). In this latest case the ghost objects show up twice (we needed 2 of the same xref) at what appears to be the correct old coordinates.
We have no work around for this and when this occurs we either have to revert to an older version from vault or create a new dwg, port all information over and recreate all views. The interesting thing about this problem is that if we revert to an older version from vault, the ghosts do not reappear/ reoccur at the same commands they appeared at previously.
I have been using AutoCAD 2014 for a couple of weeks now and there seems to be a problem when switching from the model tab to the layouts.
This is the problem i have: I draft my plans in model space as usual, once i finish that, i want to go to the layout tab
where the titleblock is and modify its attributes. When switching, AutoCAD crashes, it allows me to save a recovery file but it closes the program completley.
I have submited the error report to AutoDesk but i have not seen any other comments about it.
I've tried setting "Options" > "Plot and Publish" > "Use as default output device" to both "Default Windows System Printer" as well as "HP Officejet.I've double checked that my printer is in fact set as the default windows system printer.Nonetheless, every single time I print, "Printer/plotter" is set to "None" and I have to select my printer manually.
When trying to create a PDF file of any drawing with the inbuilt DWG to PDF AutoDesk plotter the software always crashes out with a FATL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 21247a28h. Not sure if this is a coincidence but this has only just started happening since updating my Adobe Reader software to the very latest XI version just released.
I have sent several error reports to Autodesk but can't see any in the support section. I have tried un-installing the Acrobat Reader software and AutoCAD still crashes out. Creating PDF's from external printers like PDF24 have no issues but prefer the inbuilt printer as it keeps the vector data and layering info in the resultant PDF.
Using AutoCAD LT 2013 with service pack 1.1 installed.
I have created the code to print out the pages from a drawing using Ilogic and the Print Manager. However, I cannot get the ilogic code via the Print Manager to change either the orientation OR the paper size to suit the print out.
For example, If I have an A3 drawing i can create the Ilogic code for the Print Manager to select the page size of A3 (kPaperSizeA3) within the code, but when I run the code the printer will ONLY select the Default of A4 paper.
The A3 paper is in a different tray but I cannot get the Print Manager to Select the A3 Paper. The printer we are having this issue with is a HP LaserJet 5200...We are also having the same problem of Printing out 1:1 Scale drawing to an A0 Plotter. I cannot get the Print Manager to change the Output Page Size either.
This is for a HP DesignJet 430...I have just tried to use the iLogic Snippet for Printing, and if you change the page size to suit A3 (kPaperSizeA3), the printer asks for a paper size of 312mm x 210mm.... This was with the HP LaserJet 5200.
how to get the Printer output paper size changed through the Print Manager.
AutoCAD 2013 crashes during the plot configuration for our printer. When I select Custom Properties for our Kip 5000 Series Printer I get an Unhandled Exception popup. When I click continue I get a message that "AutoCAD Applicaiton has encountered a problem and needs to close", the program crashes. AutoCAD 2013 will not let us select the kip 5000.pc3 file we used for Autocad 2012.
How can I set my printer up if it keeps crashing the program. Is there a new driver for 2013, if so where do I find it. Is it from AutoCad or the printer company Kip America (who have yet to reply to my email).
I'm trying to change the tabs on a paragraph of text but my tab window floats. I need it to be tied to the block of text. At the moment, if I move across the page, the tab window will no longer be above the text I'm trying to edit.
I'm currently using AutoCad Electrical 2010 and we just got a new printer. Is there any way to map all of my electrical drawngs to that printer without opening each drawing and selecting the new printer?
To create a new template one has to go through the "Printer..." dialog to change the paper size. Unfortunately, the only way to actually SAVE the new settings is to click OK, which causes Lightroom to print the current image. In all other programs, the "Printer..." dialog is used only to adjust settings. In Lightroom it seems to serve as a "Print" dialog as well. On Windows this violates long-standing UI function guidelines embodied by pretty much all other software.
A concrete example:
I needed to create a new template to print on 8-1/2 x 11 paper. To do so, I created a new template while in an existing template for 8x10. This copies the settings to the new template, but one cannot adjust the cell size to anything larger than 8x10. So I went to the "Printer...:" dialog to change the paper size. However, when clicking OK on the "Printer..." dialog, to save the new paper size, Lightroom starts printing the current image.
What should happen is that the settings are saved and no printing starts. Printing should occur only when I click on "Print".
Unless I've missed something and there's a way to change paper size, color profile, paper type, etc. (all the things you can change on the printer driver's dialog) from within Lightroom without invoking "Printer..."?
I cannot change printer profiles in Colour Management on PSE10. Whenever I try to do this it looks like I have changed it, and click OK...but when I check back it has actually not taken effect and has defaulted back to the original stored profile. Consequently I cannot use different paper types now. This has only just started happening and was ok before. I am using Mac OS 10.7.5 along with an Epson R3000.
