How to get the Volume Elevation Table masking to work?
I can only get the Title to work correctly - everything else plots as a black blob if Fill is on. With Fill off - there is no mask.
I'm getting a zero elevation for the surface I create when I compare surfaces to get volumes. What am I missing?

In LDD, typically the minimum and maximum elevations are within the range of elevations where the volume is being analyzed. In my current vol calc summary it shows something that really makes me frown, e.g, min elev of -26.00 and max elev of 752. I have checked all the proposed elevations and the minimum is 720.

I am working on a large park project. I have a proposed and existing surface. I have created a volume surface to show elevation banding with cut and fill ranges. I need to create a drawing for someone who doesn't have civil 3d showing all the "cut" areas. They really want a boundary of hatch. What is the best way to do this after I change my analysis to -30 feet cut to 0 feet cut.

View 1 Replies View Related about a Volume Table style, where I have correctly showing in Model Space and is "Split" in the Table Properties. This is a "Total Volume Table" and is Dynamic.
Just Fine in Model Space... yet is showing within a Viewport (typ. plan sheet) that each Split is simply Staked ontop of each other ?
Thought I (we) came across this a few years ago... yet no issues latetly till now, and also mainly first time I've likely split the Table in R2012 (currently used).

Is there a way to show the MES Top Elevation as blank or a dash? It would be great if I could make an expression but without the use of text strings in the expression editor, I don't know how to accomplish this without using wipe out boxes over the elevations.

I can add lables to the plan with levels but really would like to have a table as well as some of the segments are too small to lable on the layout.
I need elevation data from a surface. I need an elevation every 15' along an alignment or feature line. I would like the information as a table. I am not sure how to do this.

I have a corridor with an associated sample line group, and I have produced some material volume tables to give me quantities for my corridor structures and cut/fill volumes. When I look at the material volume tables they are at a seemingly arbitrary stationing. The sample line group which the material volume tables are (supposedly) based on are on alignment L1000 and they run from station 1133+73 to station 1154+00 every 10 meters. The material volume tables show volumes broken down by stations starting at station 3719+58.66 and runs through to station 3786+08.92. It is sampling at a seemingly arbitrary frequency, there is absolutely no alignment in my drawing that has stations remotely resembling those numbers, and there is definitely no sample line group it could be using that samples an alignment or stationing anything like that shown in the materials volume tables. My volume surface statistics show a cut volume of 5167.22 cy and fill volume of 8456.18 cy.
The sample line group volume report show cumulative cut of 5527.67 cy and fill of 8465.56 cy.
What could be some causes of this disparity. All reference surfaces are built from points and use a non-destructive boundary.
I've read a few threads on this way back but cannot locate them. I have two surfaces and create a volume surface and it reported the volume as 493 cy. I then ran some sample lines at 25 foot interval and the total volume is reported as 964 cy.

Well, I got the program to work and had things linked in and was able to route a storm through the network. But when I routed the storms, I had to model double the storage that i expected.
So I went back to the program I'm familiar with - Pondpack by Benltey - and designed the same system I routed in SSA in that program - and got the storage volume that I would expect for a site of this size - about 2 acres.
Is there possibly a setting that I'm missing that makes my outlet structures route slower or less than they should? Or is there some other reason that a system would give this kind of inflated need for storage?
I have an issue with using Bounded Volume or Adding a Boundary to Volume Surface things so bad... = incorrect volumes.. sometimes extremely incorrect.. I understand that the surface rectangle when a boundary is added but this could be horrible if not checked.

A few weeks ago I did not have this problem but once my computer was switched to the company's global server and c3d was reinstalled the problem appeared. Furthermore (post switchover), when a colleage of mine prepared a simple test drawing with just a line and a point, he was able to snap to that line without the point changing elevation. When he sent that drawing to me and I tried snapping the point to the object, the same problem occured with the point taking the elevation of the line object. I suspect it is a system variable issue
i have some existing drainage pipe and structures in a base plan that i need to change the invert (which is the easy part) and the top elevation to the existing top elevation that does not meet the minimum presect in civil 3d 2012 is there a way to change these min. to match my exisitng elevation for example i have a catch basin invert is 15.45 top is 17.56 with a 18" rcp the cover will be less than 12" and i need to change this.

Is there a way to force the table and table text height to stay constant despite the scale? I can do it for Point Label Styles with an Expression. But in 2011 there is no way to build an expression for a table style.
I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
I want to know if you can link AutoCad tables to other Autocad tables on different layouts. Say I have ten sheets, each with a table for quantities of pipe length, and one sheet with a total of all quantities. Can I link cells from each separate layout sheet to the main table sheet, so that I can add them all for project totals?

I am having some issues getting a shared Volume parameter to work and report in a tag correctly. I can get the tag to report a value, but it is reporting the a value based on default values of the column (9*2*2) and not the value of the actual column (shown in the properites). Also, the tag I create reports a question mark, not the volume calculated. I've tried this a million times so it could be I have crossed up a parameter somewhere.
