View 1 Replies View RelatedNew user for civil 3d and the hydraflow extension for civil 3d. I have my pipe network created, all the correct catchments are attached to the correct basin/inlet. i have opened my network in hydraflow and am ready to run it. when I click run it says no flow. Now I know there is another step i need to set my flow wth TOC, I've inputted that, i am using the standard idf curve hydraflow, i have the areas with their coefficients, however it is not calculating my flow rather it is telling me no flow is inputted for certain lines i.e. the ones with MH connections and no inlets.
I have attached my .stm file to this thread, i changed the extension so it would post, just delete the .doc from the extension and it should work in your hydraflow.
I opened Hydraflow Sewer Extensions and created a project. I was able to save it and open repeatedly without problems. I opened open project dialogue window here I copied and renamed a copy of the project file. When I tried to open either the original file or the renamed version - Hydraglow shuts down. The project file has attached dxf file as abackground. (see attached). I hate to lose a day of data entering given my tight deadlines.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to confirm the discharge table that hydraflow produces in hydraflow hydragraphs. I think I understand the equation itself (it's been a while since I took hydraulics), but can't understand where I'm making my error (if I am). Normally I trust the stage/discharge curve that hydraflow produces, but the City Engineer is asking me to confirm the values by hand and show them on the plans. Is there a link to an detention pond example that shows how a curve (the outflow values) was generated (confirms the discharge table at various elevations)? The equation is on page 85 of the users manual.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running Civil 3D 2012 and my Hydraflow crashes everytime I run an analysis. I am using a known Q and have input pipe inverts/slopes and pipe sizes. Everytime I try running an analysis I get the following message: Line 1, 2, 3 has no flow. Check pipe size(s) and slope(s). Then the program closes up.

View 1 Replies View Relatedone would think that you could just export the .stm file into hydraflow, make some changes, and import, and all would be fine. when i export, all of the structures in hydraflow come up as drop curb. how can they come in as what they actually are.. aka, when the part i use is a 2x4 box, it should come into hydraflow as a "grate inlet", or a st-mh will come in as a "manhole".
and then likewise, when the changes are made, and its brought back into autocad, they all come in as a "standard" style. except the outfalls, which show as a "standard" style, but come in with a different block, and get a whole new label (outfal - x)
When I try to run my hydrographs through a pond I get an error stating something to the effect of: Outflow greater than Inflow on Hydrograph 6 for the 50-yr storm.
How can the outflow be greater than what is flowing into it? How the program can calculate this.
We are seeming ot have problems with a few of our engineers having the Microsoft Office product go to "Not Responding" and then closing while working in Hydraflow & Hydrographs. This has been with Outlook, Word and Excel. All workstations are 64 bit systems with 16 gig of Ram Windows 7 and Civil 3D 2012 SP2.1.

This morning on trying to use the programme, working in model space has become almost impossible as the pan and zoom functions have become very slow and move in short distances before a pause and then moves again. I've tried restoring my pc to a previous restore point as I had a windows update last night, but it won't restore. If I access the model through a viewport the pan and zoom functions are normal.

The problem is when I update the storm network, All the outlets are added as new structures. It does not update the existing headwall / end sections.
I then have to go thru and delete the added (null) outlet structure. Then, reattach the existing outlets to the pipe network to show up in the structure data table correctly.
My Civil 3D 2013 client application (COM C++) suddenly will not build:
error C4772: #import referenced a type from a missing type library; '__missing_type__' used as a placeholder..fatal error C1084: Cannot read type library file: 'C:/Program Files/Common Files/Autodesk Shared/AecXBase70.tlb': Error loading type library/DLL.
The type library is imported in the following way in StdAfx.h (as I have done for several years now, though with different version (60, 65, 67 etc.) each year):

I have tried to reinstall Civil 3D 2013 but that did not work. I probably also should mention that I have installed Civil 3D 2014, but that was over a week ago and I have been able to build since then.
i have a drawing i am working and somehow i lost my linetypes that use shape files, anything with text in the linetype work fine. I have tried to reload the shape file, compile it and to no avail. my file directories are pointing in the right direction and everytime i load and compile it goes to correct file and directory.
The reason i say i caused it is they were in the drawing working fine, and 1 or 2 commands later gone, I tried to insert the drawing into a new drawing and that did not work. if i start a new drawing it works fine.
I am currently using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 for surveying work and have been trying to figure out how to use part of an existing survey of land model. I have it in a layout (paper space) and used a viewport to get the section I am after but there are some changes in labeling and minor model modifications needed to make it a stand alone model and I do not want to modify the original model to make these changes. How can I take a section like I have in view port and make it into its own model with a different scale so the changes can be made and the original model is left in tact?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOften times when I mirror a sheet metal part in an assembly, several problems occur: The material thickness (in sheet metal defaults) gets reset to the default
Example: My parts are .1875". I mirror one part in the assembly (creating a new part), then when I attempt to create a flat pattern for that part, it doesn't do it right because the thickness in the "Sheet Metal Defaults" is set to .125 (my template default). The "Use Thickness from Rule" check box is NOT checked in my template, but it checks itself when I mirror a part.
The mates completely disappear meaning I have to reconstrain the part.
I have two custom iProperties in my sheet metal template: LENGTH and WIDTH (each set to <SHEET METAL LENGTH> etc.). It retains WIDTH but loses LENGTH, so I have to go manually create a new custom property to get my LENGTH back.
CIvil 3D 2013 / My drawing opens in layout view and all model objects are appropriately coloured by layer. If I hit plot at this point, my colour dependent .ctb file works fine. However, once I swtich to model view, all my linework turns white and if I switch back to Layout view it remains white and plots each line with the weight assigned to the colour white.

When you open the copied assembly, any sheet metal parts have reverted back to default thickness, making it so flat patterns don't work right until you manually change it. Also half of my custom parameters (sheet metal length and width) go missing and I have to type them in manually. Why does Inventor 2013 drop such information?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to work on a previous file in my office, and when it opens on mycomputer, it does not display as it should.
In general, the purpose of the project is to reinstate the side slopes of a road abutting a river. Cut & fill sections have been generated on 20m station increments along the road corridor/surfaces in order to calulate cut and fill as well as to reference the design to flood levels.
When I open the file, all of these sections (and there are alot) have relocated themselves to various locations in model space, none of which are aligned with the viewports that are being used for printing.
Could it be software and/or hardware incompatibility with the computer they were originally created on? (I believe it was created with C3D 2010, or C3D 2011 - I am currently running 2012)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using an Intuos4 tablet and the pen pressure randomly stops working in photoshop (cs5.5).
Had a bamboo before and the same thing happened there. I have the latest driver installed (tried with older as well), tried different usb ports and different usb wire.
Sometimes it works only a few seconds sometimes 5-10min (never more though) before the pen pressure stops working. And when it does it just stops working, I get the warning triangle in the brush window, then randomly it comes back for a few strokes before it stops wokring again.
I'm on a pc. I've tried using photoshop cs1 and also photoshop 7. The same thing happens there.
The problem didnt start untill I plugged in my old bamboo into the same computer after having installed the drivers etc for the intuos4. Ive also tried switching the tip of the pen.
Nothing works. What can I do?
Does someone know how to create realistic liquid and foam effect on pictures. It should looks like they are real, because I will use them on 3D renders - pictures. I would like to add water or milk on my 3D renders. It should look like it was spilled and there should be drops too.

I have tried everything from converting my wav to an mp3/aiff, moving my cache and preview files (and changing my scratch locations) to my computer from my external hard drive, creating a new project, deleting the pek files, even closing all apps.
This is something that just started happening out of nowhere in the middle of a project and has gotten worse and worse with use.
The bottom of the window goes off screen so i cannot resize it by clicking and dragging the lower right corner. Also in Navigator I can see that I should be seeing more image as indicated by the red outline. I have tried resetting Essentials, tried opening Photoshop while pressing Option / Alt shift, and nothing seems to work.

Color feedback drops in and out. Yes I have the box checked in the settings. Sometimes it slightly works and most times it simply does nothing. Half the time I don't get color feed back and when I try to move the handle or scale, it doesn't affect the polygonal mesh at all. It's driving me crazy and I really don't want to do my facial blendshapes by hand!
I have also tried deleting my preferences, and it didn't work either.I have also tried resetting the tool. No go.
I am using civil 2012 with windows 7 64 bit
I can navigate between layouts but when I try to go to the model it locks up and I have to reboot
