AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Hydraflow Extension - No Flows
Nov 7, 2013New user for civil 3d and the hydraflow extension for civil 3d. I have my pipe network created, all the correct catchments are attached to the correct basin/inlet. i have opened my network in hydraflow and am ready to run it. when I click run it says no flow. Now I know there is another step i need to set my flow wth TOC, I've inputted that, i am using the standard idf curve hydraflow, i have the areas with their coefficients, however it is not calculating my flow rather it is telling me no flow is inputted for certain lines i.e. the ones with MH connections and no inlets.
I have attached my .stm file to this thread, i changed the extension so it would post, just delete the .doc from the extension and it should work in your hydraflow.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Hydraflow Sewer Extensions
Jan 17, 2013I opened Hydraflow Sewer Extensions and created a project. I was able to save it and open repeatedly without problems. I opened open project dialogue window here I copied and renamed a copy of the project file. When I tried to open either the original file or the renamed version - Hydraglow shuts down. The project file has attached dxf file as abackground. (see attached). I hate to lose a day of data entering given my tight deadlines.

Dec 13, 2012I can't seem to confirm the discharge table that hydraflow produces in hydraflow hydragraphs. I think I understand the equation itself (it's been a while since I took hydraulics), but can't understand where I'm making my error (if I am). Normally I trust the stage/discharge curve that hydraflow produces, but the City Engineer is asking me to confirm the values by hand and show them on the plans. Is there a link to an detention pond example that shows how a curve (the outflow values) was generated (confirms the discharge table at various elevations)? The equation is on page 85 of the users manual.

Feb 11, 2013I am running Civil 3D 2012 and my Hydraflow crashes everytime I run an analysis. I am using a known Q and have input pipe inverts/slopes and pipe sizes. Everytime I try running an analysis I get the following message: Line 1, 2, 3 has no flow. Check pipe size(s) and slope(s). Then the program closes up.

Jun 19, 2013one would think that you could just export the .stm file into hydraflow, make some changes, and import, and all would be fine. when i export, all of the structures in hydraflow come up as drop curb. how can they come in as what they actually are.. aka, when the part i use is a 2x4 box, it should come into hydraflow as a "grate inlet", or a st-mh will come in as a "manhole".
and then likewise, when the changes are made, and its brought back into autocad, they all come in as a "standard" style. except the outfalls, which show as a "standard" style, but come in with a different block, and get a whole new label (outfal - x)

Oct 30, 2008When I try to run my hydrographs through a pond I get an error stating something to the effect of: Outflow greater than Inflow on Hydrograph 6 for the 50-yr storm.
How can the outflow be greater than what is flowing into it? How the program can calculate this.

Aug 21, 2013I am having issues with importing / updating existing storm network.
The problem is when I update the storm network, All the outlets are added as new structures. It does not update the existing headwall / end sections.
I then have to go thru and delete the added (null) outlet structure. Then, reattach the existing outlets to the pipe network to show up in the structure data table correctly.

Nov 1, 2013I'm in the process of building a subassembly in SAC. My goal is to have it transition from one cross section to another over a set length (by using station values). I can set it up so that at a certain station it switches cross sections, but I need to have a gradual change.
I've looked at other posts on here, but they all relate to road cross sections and changing slope (at least from what I saw). Any insight as to the proper way to do this (maybe with Auxiliary points and links)

Feb 1, 2011I have some dimensions and mleaders that are in paperspace that I want to put in model space. When I use the CHSPACE command, the mleaders will switch, but the dimensions will not. Is there a reason dimensions cannot switch space? This is in Civil 3D 2010.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Alignment Is Scaled 1/12 - How To Change It

AutoCAD Civil3D 2013.
Units are set to unitless.
An alignment was created from an existing 2D polyline.
The alignment stations, and the geometric properties, incidate that it is approximately 57 units in length.
If I use the DIST command from one end of the alignment to the other, it measures approximately 690 units, which is what I expected.
Obviously there is a 1/12 (feet-to-inches) thing going on here. I think I need to scale the alignment properties and/or station label properties by a factor of 12, but don't know where to find this tool.

Oct 22, 2013My drawing settings is set for US Feet. My Data Collector is set for US Feet. I only import a txt file into the drawing. My txt file coordinates match my Data Collector but never in the drawing. We're only talking about hundredth but I don't understand why it changes in the first place.
Example
Point 1 in txt file & DC --- 10000N 5000E
but in drawing --- 9999.98N 4999.99E
Point 2 in txt file & DC ---- 9624.7230N, 4971.5346E
in drawing ----- 9624.7422N, 4971.5445E
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Contour Labels Change
Jun 26, 2012I have a drawing containing a surface with contour labels. There are two tabs representing two separate drawings. On one of the drawings I want to change the viewport color of some of the layers so certain features will plot lighter than on the other drawing.
When I change the color of a layer within the viewport, however, the masking on all the contour labels takes on a color (not associated with the color of the layer they're on, or anything else for that matter). Once the masking takes on the color, you can't undo it. You have to exit the drawing without saving it and call it up again in order to have the labels appear properly.
