In Civil 2013 is there a way to lock where you drag the tool bars? I work on dual screen and drag my properties and layers manager over to the second screen. Randomly they will jump back from the right screen to the left screen on program restart.
Also when I open the grading toolbar and drag it over to the right screen some commands, such as breaking a feature line, will cause it to jump back into the middle of the left screen right then.
Is there anyway to lock the toolbars to where they were dragged last?
Methods of which I chose acToolbarDockFloating all nice but because floating hasn’t been saved in a workspace (yet) means that the toolbar is placed in the top left corner. To cut a series of tests and playing round with lisp and scripts and the likes I'm after a way of simply forcing the new toolbar in the dead centre of the screen using VBA.
I have googeld and the likes but cant find anything that resembles like
ObjToolbr.Dock acToolbarDockFloating 200, 200
(Presuming the location of the toolbar I want to force is 200 by 200)
Today I accidentally moved the toolbar. I watched the movie about customizing Xara, but I can't follow it. How to set it back to its default location (top of left edge).
I have a short corridor, about 300', that ends at a cul-de-sac, and has multiple sections and alignments associated with it. My problem is when I need to edit a section in the "Section Editor" my computer feezes up. It was working fine for a while but now I can't get it to work even on a new drawing. If I can't get this fixed I will have to got to using feature lines. Which is not ideal.
I added a screen capture of my computer's information. And I have the SP1 installed for Acad.
Not everytime but very often when I create a quick profile from line, polyline or feature line, my Autocads locks. The only thing I can see is the command prompt asking to specify the point of origin for the quick profile and I can't seem to do anything. The only way to get out of the command is by trying to close the autocad window in the task bar or task manager.
To fix this it takes various steps: regenall, zooming out, but still the odd time I get it to work. This seems to me like a video card issue, but I had this problem with several video cards and windows versions (7&8). Currently using Nvidia Geoforce GTX 770M.
Is there a way to lock draworder objects in place?
At the very least, I'd like to position x-refs in a particular order and then lock them there so that they never mistakenly change order. For example...
is it possible to lock an alignment to a pipe network, so that if you move a structure, the alignment moves with it?
along those same lines, when you create an alignment from a pipe network, is it possible to auto assign the reference alignment to the pipe parts, so that labels come out correctly?
In my seemingly never-ending battle with standardizing, I have created a template with all the layers I expect to use in the future. The template will be used by both surveyors and engineers so I have layers that won't ever be used by surveyors. What I don't want is the surveyor to purge the drawing and delete all the layers that the engineers will need. I found the link below explaining and .lisp to replace deleted layers.

Now, I am completely new at .lisp and how to use them. Also, this template is used in a program called BricsCad (some of the older generation still uses it instead of Autocad) and using .dws and checking isn't an option for them.
I've tried to figure out the pattern of how the command works for inputting partial customization menu toolbar names but I'm unsuccessful.
You should be able to show and hide partial customization menu toolbars with the -toolbar command because it can hide all toolbars including my partial customization menu toolbars currently shown. I've tried the toolbar menu alias (defined in the CUI command) and the name (refer to this link to the same image embedded below) and none work.
When a Station Equation is added to an alignment it causes all of the profile views to get messed up. In addition once the EG profile changes the entire FG profile may also need to be changed. See this video I uploaded to Youtube that fully explains and shows the problem: [URL] ........
So, any way to some how lock the profile views start and end stations? Or to some how lock the PVI locations on a a proposed profile to certain stations?
I have created a new pipe network in a drawing that contained previously created networks. When the Network Layout Toolbar came up the dropdown for pipes was empty. If select a start point a network structure is placed there but at that point it stops, it won't allow entry of a second point. Last week IT rebuilt my Windows profile.
The draw order toolbar icon is displayed on screen. When I try to change the draw order, I hit the toolbar and get an AI_Draworder unknown command. I even moved the toolbar in a different part of the screen. The only why I can now change the draw order on an entity is the type in the word draworder in the command line. Is there any way to reactiviate the draw order toolbar?
I've set the start and end locations to be at the structure inner wall and applied rules but the invert elevation is still as if the pipe ended at the center of the structure. Did I miss something or does this not do what I think it does?
I had created a corridor using the attached assembly with conditional cut/fill and SlopeToSurface SA, the cut condition provides a ditch SA at cut only. Then had the Ditch Bottom Profile to follow a ditch profile that I created, and flows toward the increasing chainage. The horizontal offset and elevation of the ditch runs perfectly fine as desired, except between Sta. 0+465 (cut section) and Sta. 0+470 (fill section), where the ditch ties back to the edge of shoulder instead of going toward the outside (as shown in the blue lines).
My question is, do I need to make a transition between the cut and fill sections? If so how much effect and details is needed as I have a few other locations with the same issue.
I have just upgraded from C3D 2011 to C3D 2013. I know it should be simple to copy my custom CUI file from one release to another, but somehow I'm missing it. In 2013, I open Workspace/Customize, then swith to the Transfer tab (right sofar?). In the pull down, I choose Open. Now at this point, I think I should just browse for my 2011 CUI file, but for some reason, I can't find it. If I search my C drive, I still can't find it. With 2011 open, in Workspace, the name of the CUI that I use is "Randy", so I'm assuming the file name to search for would be randy.cui.
I have created a label in Settings>Intersection>Label Styles>Intersection Location Labels. The label will annotate the intersection stations and alignment name - however I haven't been able to configure the northing, easting and point number of the intersection.
How to set certain Civil 3D data folders to a network location. For example how can I set my default QTO categories, pay item and formula file paths to a network location?
I've figured out how to set Survey Database and Pipe Network Parts Catalog paths. It seems there should be some general configuration settings dialogue for all these paths somewhere. Is there? If not, is there a list of commands for configuring all the path settings?
I can't get the "Properties" dialog box to remain the same location each time I launch Civil 3D 2014. I have "xref" and "toolspace" on another monitor, along with "properties" although each time I launch CIvil the "Properties" dialog box reverts back to the middle of my other monitor...
I need to extract the XY location of a surface label. Specifically, I am trying to determine the coordinates of the first picked point in a two-point slope label. But in looking at the IAeccSurfaceSlopeLabel interface in the ActiveX documentation, I'm not seeing where this data is stored. Even for a simple surface spot elevation label (IAeccSurfaceElevationLabel) I don't see a property that stores the coordinates.
I have a custom coordinate system defined and would like to send it out to a client, since they're having trouble creating a new coordinate system based on my parameters. Is it possible to sent that as a file so they can copy it to the appropriate folder or is it embedded in a database somewhere?
IT moved all of our projects to a new directory and have subsequently broken all the survey events. Is there a way to update survey events so they can find the original file again or does each event need to be redone to fix this?
e.g. I brought in a fbk located at p:/prj/6000 that file is now located in p:/6000.
I have a 2011 Civil3D drawing with Data shortcuts in it. I need to replace the source drawing path of the data shortcut with another path. Is there a way to change this either manually or, preferably, programically. At some point we'll need to batch through the drawings and change this path information. Is this information is stored in a drawing dictionary somewhere? If so, where? If not, where?
Updating the .XML data files doesn't appear to affect data links already in the drawing.
Profile View Band Styles, Vertical Geometry and Horizontal Geometry types, include the option to Anchor Labels to True Geometry Locations.
Any image/example showing the difference between the Anchor Label options (Segment in Band and True Geometry Location) in Vertical and Horizontal Profile View Bands.
All, I have created a drawing with cross sections. When I open the drawing the material table shows up below the section view instead of where I placed it. If I update the group the tables go back to where they should be. The problem is when I publish them using SSM the tables show up below the view , where they are when I open the drawing. It would be very time consuming to plot each sheet individually.

I know I can go into the AeccSetNetworkCatalog command and set the file path but I want to do it pragmatically. Is there any way to do this? If so I don't know where it is located?
I am having trouble with the geo marker and the geographic settings. the file given to us has a pre defined grographic location, (which is incorrect) which is making the file zoom out a lot further than desired. I change the geographic location and the position of the geo-marker, but when I use zoom extends, it still zooms all the way out to the undesired distance. There is no "space junk" out that far, so I do not know what else it can be.
