Profile View Band Styles, Vertical Geometry and Horizontal Geometry types, include the option to Anchor Labels to True Geometry Locations.
Any image/example showing the difference between the Anchor Label options (Segment in Band and True Geometry Location) in Vertical and Horizontal Profile View Bands.
I am trying to create surface elevation labels along a polyline and I am having an issue with the label anchor point. I have created a line label style that uses a reference text to produce the elevation from a specified surface, however when I insert the label the default anchor point for the label is in the center of the line segment and that is where the reference text is taking the surface elevation. I am looking for the elevation of the surface at the start of each line segment, and I do not know how I can make it stop defaulting to the center of the line segment.
Attached is an overview of what my labels look like, where the anchor point is, and the layout properties within my label style. I am using C3D 2012.
The labels normal anchor point is the bottom outside diameter of the pipe, but when dragged the anchor snaps back to the cl of the pipe.
The only workaround I was able to come up with is a "static" leader made up of two lines and an arrowhead block, which you can only slide up or down the pipe with the desired appearance but can't stretch.
The attached image shows the Civil 3D pipe label above and the desirable text/leader legacy version below.

It is available for alignments but not profiles. Currently have it text compenent being labeled with PVC and PVT, but I had typed that in.

I have an alignment and would only like to label stations and specific geometry points such as EC/BC. When I add geometry points to my label set it automatically gives me curve midpoints and beg/end of alignment. How can I turn off these labels so that I only get BC/EC?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to extract the XY location of a surface label. Specifically, I am trying to determine the coordinates of the first picked point in a two-point slope label. But in looking at the IAeccSurfaceSlopeLabel interface in the ActiveX documentation, I'm not seeing where this data is stored. Even for a simple surface spot elevation label (IAeccSurfaceElevationLabel) I don't see a property that stores the coordinates.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know that I can add coordinates for such elevation using text component editor but I have to add the letter "N" for North or "E" for East to identify the location of the elevation (North/East/South/West). But, is there a way to make a label style that reads up the location of an elevation automatically?

I have note labels in one drawing. An Elevation style that list the elevation of the insertion point. The label texts are dragged to new locations. When I xref this drawing in to another. The label text shows at both the insertion points and the dragged locations. What's going on??
I've made sure the labels aren't duplicated on another layer. If I change the layer of the dragged text and do an Xlist in the drawing they're xrefed in to. The dragged text list on the layer I've change it to. The text in the original position lists on layer 0, which is the default layer for creation.

I have an alignment label that I normally use to show the PVI's of a profile in the plan view.
This is a little unusual, but in a specific case I wanted to design my profile at one alignment, but show it at another. I designed my swale profile in the pathway profile view and then superimposed the swale profile on the swale profile view. I then went back to the swale alignment to add these labels.
It's a no-go AFAICT. The only profile available for me to select for these labels is the original ground profile from the surface.
I'm working with a structure profile label style and it seems like the only way to anchor the position of the label is based on offsets from the structure itself... Any way to position the label based on the top of the profile view, so that I could make all of my labels horizontally aligned above the profile view?

How to display each paths anchor point numbers or label?
The label associated to a grading point when is moved when is moved changes its size automatically and a leader appears. After this happen no control over the grading point and its associate label. refer to the image below.
View 1 Replies View RelatedC3D 2013. We have profile line labels, some of which get manually edited (for example, change the "<[Tangent grade(FP|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>" to a static number such as 0.29%).
However, if you CTRL+Click and select one of these labels and change the style of that one label, then the manual edits are lost and the label reverts back to the default string.
Is there any way to turn this behavior off?
Is there a way to "Edit Label Text" in a Parcel area label? Similar to the way you can edit it in other styles.

I am creating some simple grading objects from feature lines. I am targeting my existing ground surface with a 2:1 fill slope. My resulting surface shows me 5' contours, which I think should all be spaced out at constant 10' offsets, but they are not. When I measure the offsets I get different values ranging on 10.2' to 9.7' (depending on the section of the feature line I am looking at). How to make the slope build properly with a true 2:1 offset between contours? What good does this grading tool do if you can't get a properly constructed slope?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have received some sedimentary data of a seabed. I also have other geological layers the sit beneath (all in XYZ format). I have created point clouds using this data and would like to create a surface in order to use the elevational banding to represent thickness. Here lies the problem.
When creating a surface from the point cloud (whole extent), C3D seems to fill in gaps in the data. Is there a way that C3D can create a true representation without all the lines joining parts up? I know that I can edit the surface by deleting lines but this is very time consuming and I'm wondering if there is an easier way to do this. This problem isn't exclusive to point clouds either, as it does the same when adding points to a new surface.
I have attached a couple of screenshots. The first shows a Point Cloud with colours showing the desired effect. Unfortunately C3D doesn't allow me to print this. The second image shows how the surface looks when created.
Is it possible to pin a label to another label ? Or pin a label to an object so that when the first label (or object) is moved, the other moves with it ?

I have a strange thing that all of a sudden started happening. If I Rt-Clk on a surface on a profile and select Edit Profile geometry, the dialog box comes up, but almost every option in there is greyed out!
This is not drawing-specific, not is it machine specific.

I've been using the COGOEditor in civil 3D 2012. I enter a description for each entry. The description does not get saved. If i open the traverse file using a text editor, enter a description, save it, then reopen in COGOEditor, I still don't see any descriptions.

Essentially labeling bottom of curb at pc, pt, mid, and pi, and would like to get and expression to add the top of curb, but under hor. geo style expressions you cannot pickup pgl data and PGL style expression are not loaded in the hgp data.
Note: Its all Resistentialism, so keep calm and carry on 64 Bit Win7 OS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a grading, created surface with it and draw a profile view. Everything seems to be good, except with the vertical geometry band. I need to fix slope and length only at break point, means PI (blue line), but aligment has created more PI with each surface tringular line at intersection (us i note). Is there any why to specify PI only at a break points?
I can erase PI manually on static profile view mode, but i desire to do it in dynamic mode..., in case when conditions changes.
I know I can use "<[Geometry Point Entity Before Data(CP)]>" (or after...) .
But this text is tooooooooo long.
