I'd like to label profile elevations at horizontal geometry points. I accomplished this with a profile reference. Essentially labeling bottom of curb at pc, pt, mid, and pi, and would like to get and expression to add the top of curb, but under hor. geo style expressions you cannot pickup pgl data and PGL style expression are not loaded in the hgp data.
Note: Its all Resistentialism, so keep calm and carry on 64 Bit Win7 OS.
How to create an alignment label expression for Geometry Point that will show the delta angle rather than the instantaneous direction or perpendicular direction?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am being requested that I add a plunger/ anchor to the datum identifier within/ on a GD&T feature control frame (see attached). This is per ASME Y14.5M - 1994 and Autodesk IV states that it meets this spec. I also checked with a couple of 'reliable sources' and they also stated that it needs to be there. I was hoping that it was a personnel preference/ company standard type thing.
How to change the setting to add it within the control frame generator?

Land desktop anchored the alignment stationing at the "+" sign directly on the alignment.
Is there a way to do the same in C3D 2010 without adjusting the x,y locations?
I am trying to create surface elevation labels along a polyline and I am having an issue with the label anchor point. I have created a line label style that uses a reference text to produce the elevation from a specified surface, however when I insert the label the default anchor point for the label is in the center of the line segment and that is where the reference text is taking the surface elevation. I am looking for the elevation of the surface at the start of each line segment, and I do not know how I can make it stop defaulting to the center of the line segment.
Attached is an overview of what my labels look like, where the anchor point is, and the layout properties within my label style. I am using C3D 2012.
I'm trying to get the position of point text from left anchor if left aligned, middle if center aligned and right if right aligned. is this even possible?
here are the keys of object I am trying to get at:
keys:
story : [Story]
contents : export me
textRange : [TextRange]
textSelection : [TextRange]
rowCount : 1
columnCount : 1
rowGutter : 0
columnGutter : 0
flowLinksHorizontally : true
spacing : 0
opticalAlignment : false
kind : TextType.POINTTEXT
contentVariable : undefined
orientation : TextOrientation.HORIZONTAL
this is what I am using to get at it:
app.activeDocument.textFrames[2].anchor[0]
am i confusing anchor point with baseline position?
Having a lot of issues manipulating points on paths in Illustrator CC - this is a fundamental feature of creating vector graphics and it's very annoying I'm paying for this and it's just not working. Eating up a lot of my time simply because I can't select or convert or add the anchor.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a shape in illustrator CS6 that I'm trying to edit. When I try to click on a point with the Delete Anchor Point Tool nothing happens however I am able to select the point using the Direct Selection Tool and then remove it using the "Remove selected anchor points" option in the Control palette. Same issue with trying to use the Convert Anchor Point Tool.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a interesting problem with Dynamic blocks that have been created in AutoCAD 2007. The issue that I have is with the anchor point that is set by AutoCAD when creating the block, and whether or not I can assign a different anchor point.
The block that has been created is a dynamic block to designate parcels, and contains the APN (Assessor's Parcel Number, which is hidden), Acreage, a circle, and a digit that displays within the circle. When the block is imported to a drawing, the anchor point itself is NW of the block itself (the distance varies by the scale being used), and I would like to have the anchor point at the south quadrant grip of the circle.
The anchor point poses no problems when being used in AutoCAD, but when the blocks are imported to GIS, the anchor point causes the blocks to snap to the anchor point, rather than where they are placed physically within the AutoCAD drawing. This is a fairly simple fix in GIS, which simply entails moving the highlighted points in to the proper position, but it is a step that I would like to eliminate.
I have attached a block for reference.
Please see attachment. There are two structure label styles in the attachment. The one on the bottom has the leader attached to the edge of the structure and the one on the top has the leader attached to the centre of the structure. How do I change the attachment point for the top label so the leader attaches to the edge of the structure as the bottom label does? Can't seem to find the parameter to change??
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've attached a PDF to my drawing and when I zoom in a bit it shows horizontal bars all over the PDF. The bars show up when printing as well. This is the first time it has ever happened to me.
My PDF Underlay contrast is set to 100, fade to 0, monochrome No, and Adjust colors for background Yes.
I would like the arrowhead for the leader labaling my structure in a pipe network to attach to the outside edge of the structure. Right now it attaches to the middle of the structure and is covered by the block representing my structure.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like the Leader Attachment for a structure in dragged state to be at the bottom of the top line. I have underlined the top line and would like the leader to extend from the underline.
Is there a way to add a "bottom of the top line" to the pull down menu, or control the leader attachment point in another way?
Where do you find the Leader Attachment Option in the Marker Style. I've looked but don't see it.

Clearing anchor point so that it's cuts the path line also to the next anchor (like point to point, cuts segment of path) not the whole path.
Sometimes it works using delete or backspace But no clue why does not always work ?
It's like the anchor point for the cursor is way off. I can click paint brush, and the paint will show up halfway across the page. If I keep clicking, the painted spot will finally show up under the cursor and I draw. If I move the cursor, and start again, same problem. If I enter text, the text willl appear so far below the picture, I have to zoom out so far, the the picture is a very small square. I grab the text box and move it back up to the picture, zoom back in and finish. If there is more text, I just duplcate the layer, so I don't have to go through the drill again.

Same problem with drawing a line. I click on the start point, and the line draws itself, off page to the left: [URL] ......

In Illustrator I have a path, I choose the add anchor point tool and am positive I have the cross hair exactly on the path but it keeps telling me I can't add the anchor point.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created a path using the pen tool. Of course, to get things right I have to move some of the anchor points. I believe that I should be able to do this by holding the Control key down while using the Convert Point Tool. Sometimes this works just fine, and other times the whole selection moves when I try to move the anchor point.
What is the exact procedure for moving an anchor point? I am apparently missing a step so that this appears to sometimes work, and other times not.

When I cut out an image I normally use the free select tool to make the outline. If I make a mistake how do I undo the last anchor point? I noticed in previous versions that there was a selection marked "undo anchor point", but in the current version selecting undo completely bypasses the free select actions.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that in Illustrator CC (17.1) the pen cursor doesn't automatically let you add or delete an anchor point anymore, when in Pen tool mode (P). It used to be an automatic feature in CS5, where a + or - sign would show up whenever I hovered over a selected path with the tool.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHere is the setup, I received a survey base from another firm. All of there leaders of text are actually cogo points with labels. I have xrefed the file into my sheet file and rotated the view, so obviously nothing looks like I want. Typically I bring the text forward into my sheet and manipulate it here, but it is attached to a cogo point. I could copy the points and label styles into my current drawing, but this doesn't sound like the best practice. What is a good way to overcome this challenge?

I know the 'move text to elevation' tool works quite well but the elevation is purely assigned to the insert point of the text object, which in some cases could be metres away from the point it refers to depending on how the text is formatted.
Any tool, lisp or otherwise, that will read the text elevation and assign it to the nearest point/block adjacent to the object?
I would like to align the edges of two anchor points. But when I try, the alignments are disabled. It seems this is only posibble for aligning multiple shapes, but not for individual anchor points. It would be nice if this works the same as in illustrator.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find a constant way to delete just one of 2 handles from an anchor point. I can drag the handle into the anchor point, but sometimes it still remains, and can be pulled out. Other times, it seems to disappear, as desired.

Is there a way to increase the size of the anchor point and handle icons when using path/pen tool in PS 7.0?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn PS you can drag the center anchor point of an object anywhere within the object or canvas, allowing you to rotate around that custom location versus the dead-center of the object.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to somehow define a shortkey to the process of removing our last anchor point's unused handle?
I am talking about this:
To be able to make a sharp corner I have to manually click on the anchor point so the handle which is still unused gets deleted. The anchor points are particulary small and the don't scale when zooming so sometimes it's just hard to click them and therefore I would love if I could automatically remove the handle with a key/key combination.
I have made a curved path in Illustrator CS6, just a simple stroke (left in picture). Is there an easy way to round the corner of the end of it? Something like the image on the right? (I just tossed a circle over top to give an idea)
