(Again): Plotting points at stations of horizontal alignment,
I wanted to plot points at the stations of horizontal alignment to be then able to capture their XYZ and thus can be stored on the GPS devise for setting out on the field.
The points are not plotted (see the attached screenshots
I was trying to find a way to not have the last ending Station Label show up on my centerline is there a override or way to tell it to just label to the last 100 or 50 foot station?
I would like to align the edges of two anchor points. But when I try, the alignments are disabled. It seems this is only posibble for aligning multiple shapes, but not for individual anchor points. It would be nice if this works the same as in illustrator.
I have created a horizontal alignment with labels and would like to label the station at a drive entrance. Do I insert at that point? My label then says pi: x+xx.xx. How do I have it just label the station?
How to specify the value of radius (R) WHILE drawing the horizontal alignment?
I’m wondering if there is a way to specify the value of radius (R) while drawing the horizontal alignment.
For example, the value of deflection angle can provided while WHILE drawing the horizontal alignment by typing ‘dd (attached). Is there a way to specify the value of radius (R) while drawing the horizontal alignment?
i thought we can grip edit a horizontal alignment? - when does it not work or not applicable because when I tried to change part of my alignment it did not work?
How to specify the deflection angle while plotting the horizontal alignment? I’m wondering if there is a way to provide the deflection angle while plotting the horizontal alignment (based on the tangent-tangent with curve method).
I am trying to revise my horizontal alignment by dragging it to locations. It is not adjusting the way i want around curves, it keeps moving one end when i change the other.I am working in civil 3d 2010, is there a way to change the constraints or revise it correctly?
Maybe my workflow is flawed but I thought I had done this before:
Drawing A has alignments and profile views
Drawing B has DS of alignments from A
User A is working on annotating profile views in drawing A. User B is working on design profiles in Drawing B, adds DS of design profile and everything looks correct in the DS node. But when we try to DS in the design profiles we get the message in the title.

This is with Civil 3D 2013. I am able to create a pline by offsetting an alignment using any drawing on any other workstation in our office, but on my machine I get an error: "1 object(s) were filtered out." when I try to select the alignment.
This leads me to searching for some system variable or something that is different on my machine.
Some authorities (in Australia) require profile views to include diagrammatic representation of the curves, transitions and slopes. For example refer to the image below, which are from NSW Rail Corp guidelines. Similar information is required by some Council/Authorities for road projects.
How the deflection angle can be shown in the horizontal alignment curve? I’m wondering if there is a way to automatically show the deflection angle of the horizontal alignment curve (attached)?
I am trying to create surface elevation labels along a polyline and I am having an issue with the label anchor point. I have created a line label style that uses a reference text to produce the elevation from a specified surface, however when I insert the label the default anchor point for the label is in the center of the line segment and that is where the reference text is taking the surface elevation. I am looking for the elevation of the surface at the start of each line segment, and I do not know how I can make it stop defaulting to the center of the line segment.
Attached is an overview of what my labels look like, where the anchor point is, and the layout properties within my label style. I am using C3D 2012.
Angle-distance method to stake out the horizontal alignment by total station,Assuming that the total station with reflector is the tool that it is intended to lay out the circular curve after being designed then the only way to do so is to construct a table that contains angle-distance values.
I’m wondering if the C3D can provide this table (attached)
I'd like to label profile elevations at horizontal geometry points. I accomplished this with a profile reference. Essentially labeling bottom of curb at pc, pt, mid, and pi, and would like to get and expression to add the top of curb, but under hor. geo style expressions you cannot pickup pgl data and PGL style expression are not loaded in the hgp data.
Note: Its all Resistentialism, so keep calm and carry on 64 Bit Win7 OS.
is there a way to set up the profile so it is anchored to horizontal geometry from certain point. that way when i change the alignment in the middle it won't cause profile to be shifted because station changes (length changed) while the vpi stations stay the same as before.
i can make a program in .net to specify a station and move all the vpi station by that amount which can be obtained easily by taking the length before you modify minus length after you modify.
Pretty common problem. it's not that hard to do in really the logic is defined. i have this alignment that's 60km long that's only one portion. hecka lots of horzontal curve and vertical curves. over 100.

How to create an alignment label expression for Geometry Point that will show the delta angle rather than the instantaneous direction or perpendicular direction?
I have been provided with Surveyed Utility Locates along an Existing Roadway. These are provided to show conflicts between the New Storm Sewer System and Existing Utilities such as Water, Sewer, Gas, Elec, etc. The survey however is incomplete as it was prepared a few years ago and the Storm Sewer has just been designed. Yes, I can create points and provide them to the County Surveying department. However, before this is done, I must provide an easily-understood format of the new survey locations to the County Project Management.
To provide a Point Table which references the Surveyed Points' location in reference to the roadway stationing (Alignment). I have attached what the point table is to look like.
I am unable to find the desired data reference in the currently provided data field selection. Am I just missing it or is this a "Wish List" item?
I know this. I am aware. This is why I avoid changing the reference point as much as possible if I have profile views or anything else dependent on my alignment. I also have no problem with this dialog giving me a useful reminder.
My problem is this: if I want to make my alignment longer, and I grab the grip at the end of it and drag it to a new location, the reference point moves too! Who in their right mind would want the reference point to move when adjusting the end? Personally I wouldn't want C3D to ever move my reference point automatically. I can have some sympathy with moving it if I am grip-editing the start of the alignment, or the tangent on which the reference point resides. But I'm editing at the end of the alignment, on a different tangent. Why would you move my reference point and make me have to go back and reset it to where it was? How dare you throw your warning message at me for moving the reference point back to where it should be when you secretly moved it to a wrong location with no warning whatsoever?
Having a lot of issues manipulating points on paths in Illustrator CC - this is a fundamental feature of creating vector graphics and it's very annoying I'm paying for this and it's just not working. Eating up a lot of my time simply because I can't select or convert or add the anchor.
I have a shape in illustrator CS6 that I'm trying to edit. When I try to click on a point with the Delete Anchor Point Tool nothing happens however I am able to select the point using the Direct Selection Tool and then remove it using the "Remove selected anchor points" option in the Control palette. Same issue with trying to use the Convert Anchor Point Tool.
how to match up certain points. I have imported 2 point clouds and have tried to use the 'align' tool to specify three points from the source object (cloud) and three points from the destination object (cloud). When doing this, it does not properly align them. The point cloud makes it difficult to select the exact point I would like to align, since there may not be a point at that exact location, but close to it. Does AutoCAD require the points in alignment to match up perfectly or is it capable of doing a best fit?
Also, is AutoCAD capable of creating a solid 3D piece from the point cloud? I would like to take all of my points and make a smooth object.
How can I transfer (download) measured data from total stations 'Trimble' and "Leica" to AutoCAd Civil 3D 2013? Must I find a module from the sites of these manufacturers? Or how can I change from total stations formats to the Feald Book format?
