AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Label Leader Attachment
Mar 27, 2013Please see attachment. There are two structure label styles in the attachment. The one on the bottom has the leader attached to the edge of the structure and the one on the top has the leader attached to the centre of the structure. How do I change the attachment point for the top label so the leader attaches to the edge of the structure as the bottom label does? Can't seem to find the parameter to change??

May 8, 2012I would like the Leader Attachment for a structure in dragged state to be at the bottom of the top line. I have underlined the top line and would like the leader to extend from the underline.
Is there a way to add a "bottom of the top line" to the pull down menu, or control the leader attachment point in another way?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Marker Style
Mar 18, 2013I believe I've found a bug with marker styles. I found this while editing a profile style. Under my profile style I have the Point of Vertical Intersection set to PI Point for the marker style.
Here is the screenshot of the marker style for the plan view.
Here is the screenshot of the marker style for the profile view with part of my profile shown next to it. Notice how the marker color is different in the profile than what it's set to. It's also not changing layers. It seems that the profile setting for the marker style display doesn't actually work. It takes the settings for the plan view and ignores the profile display style.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Leader Text Attachment Results In Leader Through Text?
Sep 13, 2013Ok, I'm sure there is a very simple way to fix this that I just haven't yet discovered. When I insert a stacked dimension in the top line of my leader text, the spacing gets automatically adjusted for the hight of the stacked dimension and it adjusts the leader line up so that it actually passes through my top line. Can this be avoided? I have attached a picture for reference.

Sep 22, 2013I created 3 marker styles to be used be applied as markers within 3 figure styles, but using the same block for all 3 marker styles. The size of the marker styles is set to "Use fixed scale" and all have a Y and Z scale of 1 but different X values. Unfortunately it seems that if the X and Y values are different the marker will not show up on the figure.

Oct 2, 2013Is is possible to have an attributed block in a marker style or note style? I would like to have editable text upon insertion of the marker or text? I have tried unsuccessfully to get it to work. Does the fact that C3D displays the marker and note as objects prevent it from being editable? Is there a workaround?

Aug 28, 2013Just a quick (but possibly hard?) question. I have a multileader set up, but I also want it to automatically include a line which spans the vertical breadth of the text at the end of the landing. It's hard to explain, so I've put an image below.
Currently it's set up as a block that can change in height, depending on how many levels of text I tell it to fit to. Problem is, if I rescale my Multileader, I'll have to go back and rescale the block separately.
Now, possible to include such a feature in a Multileader such that it autoscales and auto lengthens, depending on the height of text?

Aug 15, 2012We use STB plot style tables for all of our drawings. I have several general note styles setup in Civil 3D 2012. When you pull the note text out so that you have a leader, the leader does not plot per the plot style assigned to the layer that the note is set to display on on the General tab. It appears as the proper color and freezes with the layer properly, but it plots with the settings of the plot style assigned to layer 0. Is there a reason that the leaders don't use the plot style setting form the layer it is displayed on?

Apr 26, 2012I use the Map function within Civil 3D 2012 to export municipal GIS data from shp files, for our base plans. One of the clean-up functions is to convert the text exported from GIS to an appropriate text style suitable for the project. To do this, I would select the text, use the select similar command, then update the text style in the properties window. This process has worked well when using Civil 3D 2010 and 2011, however, I have noticed in 2012 the "style" option is not available.
Not sure what I mean, have a look at the two attachments. Notice in the C3D 2012 image, there is no "style" option, while the C3D 2010 image includes the 'style" option. I submitted this bug to our reseller, who was able to replicate this error. Our reseller submitted this to Autodesk, who was also able to replicate this error. What is interesting is if I open the drawing that contains the map exported data from C3D 2012 in either 2010 or 2011 versions, the "style" option is available, just not in 2012. This leads me to believe the issue is not with the data or the export functionality of 2012, the issue is with 2012 displaying the data property. Autodesk has forwarded this issue to their developers, no indication of when or if it will be resolved for Civil 3D 2012.
My workaround for now is to use Civil 3D 2010 for the drawing cleanup functions. Fortunately I am able to have previous versions of Civil 3D installed, since I am on subscription. My advice is when upgrading, do not remove your previous versions if you are on subscription, you may need to use it one day.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Finding Surface Setting / Style Option?
Jun 26, 2012Is there a surface setting / style option where contour labels (elevations) will display at some specified interval as part of the surface rather than going through and adding them as labels afterwards? Seems like a rudimentary operation, where the labeling can be so scattered and random.

I want to add the leader part to the leader that is created when I drag a Station Offset label. This would be the part in a three point leader that goes horizontal for a short distance before the label text begins, similar to how a multi-leader is created. Looks weird having the C3D labels be the only "leadered" noted be without the landing.

AutoCAD LT :: Matching Old Dim Styles To New Multi Leader Style On Old Dwg Files
Mar 19, 2012I have recently, and reluctantly, purchased LT2012 and have learned to hate it with an unbridled passion. I have a client that uses Acad R14dwg still and when I open their dwg files the multileader style is set to some arbitrary "standard" instead of matching the existing dimstyle of "3-16 Letters" that the file was created with. When editing old files it makes it silly to add a leader and have to create a new multileader style with every single dwg I open. Can it be done once and never be done again for all subsequent dwg files regardless of when they were created? Can it be 'matched' to an existing leader that was created years ago?
For that matter, why did Autodesk pull some dimension leaders OUT of the dimstyle options at all? All dwg files are ONLY in model space, they never use layout or paper space, but that's another topic.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: PDF Attachment Showing Bars?
Oct 7, 2013I've attached a PDF to my drawing and when I zoom in a bit it shows horizontal bars all over the PDF. The bars show up when printing as well. This is the first time it has ever happened to me.
My PDF Underlay contrast is set to 100, fade to 0, monochrome No, and Adjust colors for background Yes.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Marker Won't Run Off
Mar 12, 2012I'm using Civil 3D 2012 and I'm having a hard time to turn off a maker that I didn't recognize in 2011. While having all my Osnap tools turned off, I will make a Fillet between 2 polylines, but an automatic yellow marker keeps poping up on the screen (See PDF attachement).
Is there anyway to turn the yellow marker off?

Apr 25, 2013I read all of the posts I could on point gaps and know how to make the leader reach for the center of the point. What I want is for the leader to actually attach to the block of the style I have created. Is this possible, or do I need to find a new way to label of these points so that the leader touches the block. Also I noticed the gap is not consistent from point to point.

When I import the survey file it automatically draws the lines correctly, inserts the correct marker, and places them on the correct layer. But the marker is dashed as well and not continuous. We are using tree symbols that have the size of the tree as an attribute, but when the points that use that block come in...the block shows up w/out any attributed text. Tried to edit the "block" or point marker with attedit command, but C3D tells me it is not a block. Understand that it is a "marker" for the point. But, what is stopping the text size of tree from showing up?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Reduce Marker And Label Sizes
Sep 9, 2013On the Marker Tab of my point style, I set the Marker Size to 0.05".
Then on the Summary Tab, under the Marker Node, the Point Marker Size shows 0.004". If I change that to 0.05, like I have it on the Marker Tab, the point marker becomes huge. Why aren't these two settings the same?
Another question. When I reduce the Marker and Label sizes, the label doesn't "suck in" to the marker. How can I bring the label closer to the marker without dragging it?
