Is there a way to change the marker style on general note labels that are already in the drawing without having to select them all and change it in the properties? I want to change the marker style from "basic" to "none" on the note labels but I'm not seeing a ToolSpace setting to change them all at the same time without having to individually change it...
View 8 RepliesWe use STB plot style tables for all of our drawings. I have several general note styles setup in Civil 3D 2012. When you pull the note text out so that you have a leader, the leader does not plot per the plot style assigned to the layer that the note is set to display on on the General tab. It appears as the proper color and freezes with the layer properly, but it plots with the settings of the plot style assigned to layer 0. Is there a reason that the leaders don't use the plot style setting form the layer it is displayed on?

I have tried unsuccessfully to get it to work. Does the fact that C3D displays the marker and note as objects prevent it from being editable? Is there a workaround?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it a know issue that when you have a General Note style with a Dragged State where the Display is set to Stacked Text. If Background Mask is set to True. The Mask does not encompass the whole text.

I was wondering if it is possible to use an expression in a general note label? The type of label I am using is a general note label that displays our finish grade profile elevation in plan view. What I am trying to do is add a value to that label for the TC elevation and G at the ROW. I noticed in the settings tab of the tool space, surfaces has an expression button that has what I want but I am not seeing that under General/Label Styels/Note. Is it possible to right my own expression? We are using Civil 3D 2008 with Windows XP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I maximize a view port, then zoom in or out, the note labels change scale. I like the way C3D General Note Labels rotate and scale with different viewports, but is there a way to stop them from changing when you are just viewing by maximizing? I know that I can zoom first, then maximize and as long as I don't zoom again, the scale won't change, but this is not practical.

C3D 2012 SP3..I want to label the subassembly I have created. It is easy enough to create the label style and apply it through the code set styles. I want to drag the labels for pavement depth, creating a leadered situation. Why does the program create multiple labels for each marker or link? Can this be limited to one lable for the marker and link?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI believe I've found a bug with marker styles. I found this while editing a profile style. Under my profile style I have the Point of Vertical Intersection set to PI Point for the marker style.
Here is the screenshot of the marker style for the plan view.
Here is the screenshot of the marker style for the profile view with part of my profile shown next to it. Notice how the marker color is different in the profile than what it's set to. It's also not changing layers. It seems that the profile setting for the marker style display doesn't actually work. It takes the settings for the plan view and ignores the profile display style.

I am using Rel. 2012. I would like to hear what some of the practices are regarding a general note used on multiple plan sheets. What I have is a plan set with 150 sheets. On each sheet a general note is required that likely will be revised by agencies reviewing the plans. Currently I have a base cadd file with the note and I x-ref that drawing into each sheet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created 3 marker styles to be used be applied as markers within 3 figure styles, but using the same block for all 3 marker styles. The size of the marker styles is set to "Use fixed scale" and all have a Y and Z scale of 1 but different X values. Unfortunately it seems that if the X and Y values are different the marker will not show up on the figure.

Does the Style setting Plan Readability work for General Notes? I've been thinking we should use notes for all our text so that they react the same as all the other Civil 3D labels. But they don't seem to. They scale correctly but stay parallel to the UCS.
I've tried this in a fresh drawing from a simple template and from an OOTB template. They never rotate in a layout. Is this the normal behavior or am I missing a setting? This is how I have it set in my style:

Where do you find the Leader Attachment Option in the Marker Style. I've looked but don't see it.

My sections are showing a label for some of my links that are coded as "top". My label style for the "top" link is set to none and some of the labels are still displayed.
The labels show in the sections, but not the assembly. We are running Civil 3D 2012.
C3D 2012...but this feature has probably been in C3D for sometime

When I generate a band and the points that need to be labelled are very close to each other there is the possibility to stagger the labels (left, right, to both sides).
This works as I would expect it to.What I haven’t been able to determine is whether it is possible to adjust or influence the spacing between the staggered labels.
I am in the process of modifying our current company standards to conform to another set of standards. The main change is switching from "simplex" font style to "Tahoma".
Simple in theory but problematic in execution, our main alignment label style "GEO-LABL", used for P.O.T, PC, ect. utilizes an underlined reference text object in order to control the length of the line under the call. The base insertion places the call perpendicular to the alignment, when dragged to the left or right it switches to stacked text plan readable. Works like a champ with the "simplex" text style - 1.jpg see attached.
Now simply changing the font to "Tahoma" - 2.jpg the larger you make the text the larger the gap.I am trying to stay away from adding a line for the underline due to the difference in lengths needed when the call gets longer or shorter based on alignment name or stationing.
Using 2012 in my CUI I could set the general note label to use the double click function. When I double clicked on any label I'd get the editor box pop up. Now in 2013 for some strange reason that no longer seems to work.

My feature line shows its points with blue circle & square grips and the current point is showed by a green circle.
The problem is the zoom level, Grips have always the same size but circular green indicator does not.
You can only view this last at a very detailed zoom.
I'd like to have a "big" arrow or something similar.The problem is the great difficulty to identify points....

I am trying to change the default label styles for AddSegmentLabel under general styles using .NET...

If I manually change it to a child style and then check the values, they are the same as what I'm trying to set them to. If you use a "parent" style then these both work. Am I doing something wrong or this another limitation?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing containing a surface with contour labels. There are two tabs representing two separate drawings. On one of the drawings I want to change the viewport color of some of the layers so certain features will plot lighter than on the other drawing.
When I change the color of a layer within the viewport, however, the masking on all the contour labels takes on a color (not associated with the color of the layer they're on, or anything else for that matter). Once the masking takes on the color, you can't undo it. You have to exit the drawing without saving it and call it up again in order to have the labels appear properly.
i am trying to change my contour label precision from 700 to 700.50, i am working in a very flat area and i placed .25' and 1' contours on my site plan but can only get even foot labels to show. where do i change the precision, i tried in units, no luck.

I have a feature line that is perpendicular to another and connected to it at a PI .When I modify the elevations of one of the feature lines, the labels for slope and PI elevation of the dependent feature line do not react and update without having to invoke a REGEN.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an alignment and have station labels. The alignment is labeled with "Major Stations" at every 100 feet. I need to change the station increment to 25 feet and have labels. I have done this although station 1+25 is still reading 1, station 1+50 is reading 1, etc. There is a precision variable somewhere, and I can't figure it out. I have played with the alignment labels style but no luck. Is there a global drawing settings somewhere that might be controlling this?
