Customizing the leader style further,I’m not sure if the leader style can be further customized to obtain the style shown in the attached screenshot.

Is there anyway to prevent AutoCAD from converting a MTEXT leader with a block element attached to a BLOCK leader when doing a copy/paste? See screen shot.

I am updating a map and besides manually creating my own block for the "arrow" of the leader. Is there more then one generic leader style I am unaware of to make life easier?

I have recently, and reluctantly, purchased LT2012 and have learned to hate it with an unbridled passion. I have a client that uses Acad R14dwg still and when I open their dwg files the multileader style is set to some arbitrary "standard" instead of matching the existing dimstyle of "3-16 Letters" that the file was created with. When editing old files it makes it silly to add a leader and have to create a new multileader style with every single dwg I open. Can it be done once and never be done again for all subsequent dwg files regardless of when they were created? Can it be 'matched' to an existing leader that was created years ago?
For that matter, why did Autodesk pull some dimension leaders OUT of the dimstyle options at all? All dwg files are ONLY in model space, they never use layout or paper space, but that's another topic.
We use STB plot style tables for all of our drawings. I have several general note styles setup in Civil 3D 2012. When you pull the note text out so that you have a leader, the leader does not plot per the plot style assigned to the layer that the note is set to display on on the General tab. It appears as the proper color and freezes with the layer properly, but it plots with the settings of the plot style assigned to layer 0. Is there a reason that the leaders don't use the plot style setting form the layer it is displayed on?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have some difficulty in reversing the text on a leader to the opposite side. As per the picture below, it is on the right side, but I would like to move it to the left. When I drag it, the whole leader goes with it. The text in reference here is the one with ".06 x 45.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAll of my multi leaders (mleaders) worked great in 2012 with the added "extend leader to text" for leaders on the end of a text string, but in 2013, they now attach to the end of the box again.
Some appear as though they are "trying" to extend, but the beginning of the leader without the extension now starts at the end of the box on the FIRST line.
See the attached examples:
Top one - Mleader is on the end of a text box larger than the actual text (NOTE: I have many drawings like this, opening them in 2013 is a nightmare)
Version #2 - Note what the leader does in this example, the "extend to end of text" is the correct length, but it starts at the edge of the box, not the end of the first line of text. Again, this worked fine in 2012.
Version #3 - This is what should happen, only happens if you adjust the text box size. I don't really want to spend my clients money updated dozens of multileaders on hundreds of drawings to force the mleader to work.
Just a quick (but possibly hard?) question. I have a multileader set up, but I also want it to automatically include a line which spans the vertical breadth of the text at the end of the landing. It's hard to explain, so I've put an image below.
Currently it's set up as a block that can change in height, depending on how many levels of text I tell it to fit to. Problem is, if I rescale my Multileader, I'll have to go back and rescale the block separately.
Now, possible to include such a feature in a Multileader such that it autoscales and auto lengthens, depending on the height of text?
I want to have a line connecting a block with an attribute, much like how a leader connects text to a basepoint. Is this possible?
I want to make it so that a line is always pointing to the attribute, even if the attribute is moved around.

Is there a way to have the Arrow leader convert to Loop leader in one click. Our company standards use diamond tags and sometimes i have to change the arrow to loop by inserting a leader.

I want to add the leader part to the leader that is created when I drag a Station Offset label. This would be the part in a three point leader that goes horizontal for a short distance before the label text begins, similar to how a multi-leader is created. Looks weird having the C3D labels be the only "leadered" noted be without the landing.
When I use qleader with mtext annotation , The arrow and texts are inserted as two unit. I can rember there was a facility to use this two objects as a one unit.

Ok, I'm sure there is a very simple way to fix this that I just haven't yet discovered. When I insert a stacked dimension in the top line of my leader text, the spacing gets automatically adjusted for the hight of the stacked dimension and it adjusts the leader line up so that it actually passes through my top line. Can this be avoided? I have attached a picture for reference.

I have messed with style settings for a new Vertical Txt style, and Vert Dim style -(pointed to the Vert Txt style and adjusted Notes and Leaders tab)
i don't understand why in the Format Text window the "rotation" box is always grayed out. can you unlock it?

The "help" says you should be able to use an expression to rotate a symbol.
I am trying to dimension using ordinate dimensioning style, but I couldn't get some of the lines to change at specified points by 90 degree, and then to continue parallel to the first line. The default couldn't be bent to 90 degree, and desn't stop at where I wanted to bend.

is it possible to have multiple plot style tables in one drawing ?
The purpose would be to plot xrefs with plot style table x while maintaining the company's plot style table for the drawing itself. The output would then be a plot in proper style for all parties involved.
This would save us the job of converting the layerstructure we get delivered by external parties to our own.
I recently got a new computer at work but now some of my font styles aren't showing up as they did before: the font is different and the formating is not the same. I still have access to my old computer, which still has AutoCAD on it and the drawings show up fine. I looked in the forum and people have mentioned sending the font style to the new computer but I am not sure how to do this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a huge problem with my Autocad 2013 for MAC, everything is running nice and steady except for one detail, everytime I open the dimension style format to make a new dimension style, autocad freezes (only autocad, rest of my mac keeps working normally) and I cant work anymore, I have to force quit the program and re-open it, but the dimension style I created gets lost. is there something i can do? i already tried by uninstalling it and reinstalling it and this problem doesnt go.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEssentially, I've got a bunch of extruded polylines - so, some 3-d shapes - that I'm viewing in a new layout/'viewport' (?), which is set to SW Isometric view in '2D wireframe' viewing style. I've got my lines in different colors, mapped to be all black but different line widths in a custom Plot Style .ctb file.
So, when I change the 'page setup' to "display plot style", everything seems fine. All the lines go black in the viewport, and it seems as though I've configured everything correctly. When I preview an export to .pdf, however - or actually export it - this is lost. The export comes out in color.
I've done exporting using both EXPORTPDF, and PLOT, in both cases making absolutely certain that the .ctb file is being linked correctly (with EXPORTPDF, I've done it both using the 'current' page settings, and also 'override'), and with the PLOT, using the DWG to PDF converter,
I've looked through EXPORTSETTINGS, EXPORT...
On the same computer, with another earlier, simpler file, I have no issues accomplishing what I want.For additional information/to make things more annoying for me, at this stage, the previous file which DID work seemed to conserve layer information, and allowed me to edit individual lines later, if necessary... This colored "I don't care about your plot styles I'm not going B/W" file seems to just be a flat image.
I've compared the two files in two tabs extensively, and can't seem to find ANY other difference, in any of the settings...

PC running Windows 8, Autocad 2014, Adobe Reader XI...
Tried both the DWG to PDF and Adobe PDF plugins to export to PDF...
The attached image show the annotation title style and the label on center line (the red rectangles).

The other one ("PULL_X"), which is clearly not current, is also not used by anything in the drawing (as far as I can tell), yet it won't purge.why it cannot be purged?
