Dec 19, 2012Is there a way to stop Dim Style Override, so it does not automatically apply to new dimension? Without having to go into dim styles and delete style override manually?

AutoCad :: Get A Dimension Style Override Appear When Using DAL Shortcut
Jun 28, 2013why every time I use the DAL shortcut, I get a dimension style override appear? Yet it doesn't do it when i use DIMALI or the DIMALIGNED button?
I've searched extensively for a solution to this yet I can't find a solution that works. The >Drawing Setup>Scale tab doesn't seem to exist in this version, and I've tried setting all the CreateDimOverride values in the registry to 0, but even that isn't working.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Text Style Font Override
Jan 4, 2013I have a text style called standard2 in a drawing, I put all text whether it be in blocks, dimensions, mtext, dtext everything into the style I want. Purge the drawing which gets rid of the style, save it, close it then reopen. I then get Standard style reset, existing objects moved to standard2 and now the standard2 style is back in the drawing. This problem is only affecting some drawings and not all drawings.

AutoCad :: Publish Using Page Setup Override Won't Override
Nov 21, 2012I'm using Sheet Set Manager in Autocad 2011. I'm using 'page setup override', and as plot area 'print extents'. So far, so good. Until someone forgets something outside the title block, and the extents feature is not good anymore (several people working in the same projects).
So, I decide to use as plot area 'Layout' instead, typing the X & Y to determine the area to be plotted.
Now, the setup "override" doesn't override. It’s using the drawing plot area from the drawing itself, which completely defeats the purpose. Am I missing something?

I can turn on / off the backroung mask for all the style but not each.
Is there a way to turn on / off the backround mask of each layout text.

Nov 6, 2013It's duplicating the layer style along with the layer which is fine but now when I change the style on one layer it changes all of those other layers as well. Is there a way to turn this off? I even tried removing the style and adding it new and it still changes the original!

May 25, 2012Im created a shape and on the first shape I put a stroke and now every shape I do has a stroke even if I dont want one. I keep having to delete it and also something is weird as when I create a shape and then click another the one I just created disappears. It says its a vector mask and so its not a shape and but I click the mask it appears but clicking or creating another shape it dissappears.
Okay so played around and it seems every new shape took on the fill of the previous shape which was 0. How do I stop new shapes from not having 0 fill?

Jun 11, 2012I'm using Map 2013 and not seeing how to choose to use an expression to rotate symbols of attached shp data (see attached png file). I see where you can put in a numeric value but that's all. Maybe I am just not seeing something?
The "help" says you should be able to use an expression to rotate a symbol.

The purpose would be to plot xrefs with plot style table x while maintaining the company's plot style table for the drawing itself. The output would then be a plot in proper style for all parties involved.

Jan 3, 2014I recently got a new computer at work but now some of my font styles aren't showing up as they did before: the font is different and the formating is not the same. I still have access to my old computer, which still has AutoCAD on it and the drawings show up fine. I looked in the forum and people have mentioned sending the font style to the new computer but I am not sure how to do this.

Oct 24, 2013I have a huge problem with my Autocad 2013 for MAC, everything is running nice and steady except for one detail, everytime I open the dimension style format to make a new dimension style, autocad freezes (only autocad, rest of my mac keeps working normally) and I cant work anymore, I have to force quit the program and re-open it, but the dimension style I created gets lost. is there something i can do? i already tried by uninstalling it and reinstalling it and this problem doesnt go.

Oct 3, 2013Essentially, I've got a bunch of extruded polylines - so, some 3-d shapes - that I'm viewing in a new layout/'viewport' (?), which is set to SW Isometric view in '2D wireframe' viewing style. I've got my lines in different colors, mapped to be all black but different line widths in a custom Plot Style .ctb file.
So, when I change the 'page setup' to "display plot style", everything seems fine. All the lines go black in the viewport, and it seems as though I've configured everything correctly. When I preview an export to .pdf, however - or actually export it - this is lost. The export comes out in color.
I've done exporting using both EXPORTPDF, and PLOT, in both cases making absolutely certain that the .ctb file is being linked correctly (with EXPORTPDF, I've done it both using the 'current' page settings, and also 'override'), and with the PLOT, using the DWG to PDF converter,
I've looked through EXPORTSETTINGS, EXPORT...
On the same computer, with another earlier, simpler file, I have no issues accomplishing what I want.For additional information/to make things more annoying for me, at this stage, the previous file which DID work seemed to conserve layer information, and allowed me to edit individual lines later, if necessary... This colored "I don't care about your plot styles I'm not going B/W" file seems to just be a flat image.
I've compared the two files in two tabs extensively, and can't seem to find ANY other difference, in any of the settings...

PC running Windows 8, Autocad 2014, Adobe Reader XI...
Tried both the DWG to PDF and Adobe PDF plugins to export to PDF...

Jul 1, 2013I`m working on this architecture project and copied some clean lines to the file from a landscape design project.
Somehow these text styles showed up to my file (more than 50 text styles from xrefs, because of their strange names, even though I don`t have any attachment). And it says that I cannot delete them cause I`m using it.
I`ve tried out everything I could imagine and read about it. It doesn`t work. Now this simple .dwg file is very heavy and with a lot of unwanted text styles. Even if I try to copy just the lines to start over another file, all the text styles go together.
Tried:
PURGE
AUDIT
RECOVER
WBLOCK
TXTMRG (not sure how to use it)
QTEXTMODE
Attached is one of the files that this happened to. As I`m working with a few attachments this happened to all of it. My default text style are "B3_1.5", "B3_2.0" and "B3_3.0". All the other are unwanted text styles.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Layer Translate By Plot Style?
Aug 27, 2013Is there a way to translate by layer Plot Styles instead of layer names? I would like to translate named plot styles from "Style_3" to a specific named plot style in another .stb pen set such as "9-FINE".
I'm trying to update a sheet set where I have many drawing that used color based pen sets. Our current standard is to use style based pen sets. When I convert the color based drawings to style based drawings, I have to use a converted .stb file crated from the .ctb the drawing was originally associated it.
Now, I can leave it like this and it prints fine, but I would like to translate those plot styles so that they will read correctly from the .stb file the rest of the sheet set is using. The reason being is that once all of the drawing use the current standard .stb file, I can use overrides from the Sheet Set Manager and have them all print out in black and white since the overrides themselves use the current .stb standard file.
If there is someway to translate one plot style into another plot style automatcially, disregarding the layer name they're assigned to

Jul 17, 2013I am trying to set up a standard text style converter for multiple companies (32 in all). All are using the same style names, but they change the fonts for their preferences.
What I am trying to do is come up with a tool pallete / tool bar macro to change all styles in a drawing to the new fonts they choose.
Here is my string: ^C^C-STYLE;TITLE-1;COMIC SANS MS;;;;;;;
What am I missing so the spaces in the font name are not read as ENTER in the command? I have tried <font here>, 'font here', "font here", <font here>, (font here)
If there is an easier way other than copy and paste into a new template with them defined.

Aug 23, 2012I got this weird issue when placing my custom made titleblocks in AutoCAD. All the attributes of the block jump to standard text style when placing it in my drawing. Allthough this ain't allways happening. It seems to me like there's a setting for this but i can't find out how.
It can happen suddenly too. Like when i open a new drawing and then add my titleblock, it's like it should be most of the times. Allthough when i start to edit the block (scale/move/copy,etc) it can change like you can see in the drawing below.
Offcourse, as a company, you do not want to deliver your drawings with a titleblock like this.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Visual Style Hidden Line Scale?
Sep 13, 2013I'm trying to plot 3D objects with hidden lines. I've set the viewport SHADE PLOT property to "Legacy hidden" and set my visual style to 2D Wireframe with 2D Hide-Occluded Lines linetype set to "Dashed". The hidden lines do appear, but I don't like the size and spacing of the dashes. Is there a way to add "Hidden" linetype to the selected visual style? Or perhaps there's a way of adjusting the linetype scale for visual style occluded lines (similar to LTSCALE or PSLTSCALE command)?

Apr 10, 2013trying to plot a layout with "hidden line" style (see attached files). i tried almost every combination of settings and probably found a bug?
the exported (plotted) DXB file still contains edges that should be invisible.
should i do something differently?
