When opening a new drawing in 2013 the UCS icon isn't in the bottom left corner - how to correct ?

I am currently working on a culvert drawing, using two view ports for my plan and profile sheet. As you can see below in my attachment, the UCS icon in the upper viewport is distorted, I do not how this occurred nor do I know how to correct it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2011 Civil3D drawing with Data shortcuts in it. I need to replace the source drawing path of the data shortcut with another path. Is there a way to change this either manually or, preferably, programically. At some point we'll need to batch through the drawings and change this path information. Is this information is stored in a drawing dictionary somewhere? If so, where? If not, where?
Updating the .XML data files doesn't appear to affect data links already in the drawing.
Recently upgraded to Civil 3D 2013 and drawings opened up fine. Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.

I recently created a grading file in autocad civil 3d 2014 that contains grading objects. When I try to open the file on another computer that is using autocad civil 3d 2013, the file will not open and I get a fatal error. I audited, purged, recovered and tried about everything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a large project that we converted from 2012 to 2013 - it had always been a little buggy in 2012 as it was a piece together from another consultant. Now though, it is extremely slow and there seems to be a 'block reference' around every block in the drawing. You can drag your select window and they all pop up like crazy and slow things down immensely (see screen capture). You can select them individually, they have nodes on all 4 corners and to move them, scales your block up and down. I tried block replace to our blocks which we know are fine and same problem. It also seems to be drawing specific although audit is clean.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Civil 3D 2013, and when I do a qsave, my drawing gives me the following error dialogue box.
"Drawing File is Write Protected" - I am the only on in the files, so now my file is currently Read Only - then I am able to re-open the same file as the same time I have the currently read only version open.
I am getting this currently after or during Plan Production, creating sheets, and I do a qsave.

My problem now is that i have piles of gravel & sand, i got the volume on each pile for and now want to make a cross section drawing showing the elevations on them. I went to section views and create mutiple views but it asks me for a aligment, but i just want to base the drawing off the contours of the piles (elevations)
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe just installed 2014 on two work stations and saved a few Civil 3D files with it. When we try to open these Civil 3D drawings in 2013 they crash with a FATAL ERROR.
The last few lines on the command line shows: Loading Modeler DLLs.

This error seems to only happen with drawings that have infill grading. I tested it with a drawing with just poly lines and it worked fine. I then converted those poly lines into feature lines using 2014 and it opened fine in 2013. I then added an infill to the feature line region in 2014 and it crashes in 2013.

On opening a C3D 2013 drawing, C3D hangs for about 5 minutes. At the bottom of the screen is the message: "Upgrading COGO points". This drawing is only 974KB.
The drawing is being opened from a network . I tried saving it on a local hard drive. That had no effect.
The diameter icon different when you pick up the top line and the third line?
When I used Inventor 2009, I found that problem, but 2012 still the same. Is the inventor design that way or that can be improved?
A co-worker has been having issues with the ucs icon location. In a front view of his model the UCS icon appears where expected. when shifted to a top view the icon shifts over to the right from the location it was at in the front view? What is causing it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running AutoCAD 2013. My issue is that the top row of icons (New, Open, Save, etc. and all of the Autodesk 360 info) have become nearly invisible. If I hover the cursor over the icon it tells me what it is and I know I am clicking in the correct area. I think it was some sort of background transparency issue, but can't remember where to reset that to opaque.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOne of our clients would like different file icons for the .DWG and .DXF files. I have tried numerous ways of changing them (even went as far as extracting the icons from the "acadficn.dll" file where they are originally drawn from.
If I change the file icon for one file extension, then the other changes automatically.I would love to get some pointers.
I have two problems with a IDW drawing.
Most of my views have been crosed over by a red line in the Model browser window (se attachment) What does this red line meen?
Also, all the views with the red line have been set to Raster View Only. I can untick it without problems, but when I click OK and reopen the dialog the checkmark is back on.
How come inventor turns this mark on by itself?

As an example, for basic copy command, I would normally select my object to copy, type C, hit the space bar, and select my object again to copy to new location. With this override, I select my object, type C, hit the space bar, and in the command line, this appears:

In AutoCAD 2010, the UCS Icon settings dialogue window has a 'Cone' setting for displaying coned arrows at the end point of each axis. This 'cone' setting has been removed from 2011-2014. What logical reason why this was removed and is it possible there is a hidden setting to bring it back in 2014?

I have a drawing that has erp data (somehow) attached to plain text (acadText). I have been unable to determine where this data is embedded or 'hidden" in the drawing - The attached drawing has three text entities, each with erp data attached.
Most of my VBA programming is in Inventor and my AutoCAD coding is not that strong. I have tried listing the text, browsed the drawing database (vLisp editor), tried the data extraction tool and run (entget (car (entsel))) and so far have been unable to find the embedded data.
I am trying to access the embedded data because the erp system updates the visible text with the BOM item number when the BOM is changed in the erp screen (which is very time consuming and a big pain), however this fails when our drafting guys take a shortcut and change the number manually. With multiple balloons, we cannot tell which one(s) have been changed manually. I am hoping to code a macro that displays the embedded data which can be compared to the visible text value.
I'd like to have a special command (maybe a custom ) placed near the coordinates viewer.
(That is, at the status bottom bar)
I found that when I open the autocad using Classic view, the icon are dimmed as attache file, however, when I open it in annotation view, it is normal.

I go into infer constrains then i can remove some pop up box but i can't remove the blue icon you can see inside the image close to the pickbox.
How can i remove this blue icon?
I thought there was a setting for this? I want to adjust the Osnaps so they appear further away from the point. IE: As I want to pick the quadrant I have to get so close to the quadrant before the osnap shows. I can't remember the variable to adjust this distance.

Well currently only the layers toolbar remains, my custom toolbar and the properties toolbar turn off every time I open ACA with the icon or the exe file itself. If I open a drawing file the toolbars seem to remain. I also just installed the service pack, no change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.
I have received a drawing with a a layer's print icon grayed out in the layer manager. I can print anything from that layer and I do not know how to switch on printing for that layer. What must I do and what does the grayed printer icon mean?
